Born Aug. 19, 1931, in Mountain Grove, Mo., he moved to Shasta County in 1978 from Pinole.
He owned and operated Ray's Transmissions in San Francisco.
Survivors include wife Janet; daughter Verletta of Hayward; and brother Willard of Sanger.

Albert McGill
REDDING - Services for Albert Lee McGill, 90, of Redding will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.
Pastor O. Kris Widmer of the Redding Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.
Mr. McGill died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Redding Medical Center.
Born Oct. 10, 1910, in Pierce, Okla., he moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Santa Monica. He was a real estate salesman, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Redding Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include wife Maxine; and brothers Leroy and Deroy, both of Marion, Ore., and Theo of Junction City, Ore.

LeRoy Ziegler
REDDING - Services for LeRoy Ziegler, 85, of Redding will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at River Oaks Retirement Community in Redding.
The Rev. Dennis Benfield of Happy Valley Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Ziegler died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Nov. 17, 1915, in Alice, N.D., he moved to Shasta County in 1998 from Mount Vernon, Wash.
He was a conductor for Northwestern Pacific Railroad in Marin and Sonoma counties, and a member of the Redding Moose Lodge.
Survivors include sons LeRoy of Hyampom and Leslie of Anderson; sister Iva Boettcher of Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

WOODLAND - Former Weed resident Mildred May Tonkin, 85, of Woodland died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Woodland Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 1, 1915, in Montreal, she moved to Yolo County in 1996 from Weed.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Town and Country Club in Woodland.
Survivors include daughters Linda Nelms of Woodland and Gail Harvey of Cincinnati; sisters Edith Outhet and Lillian Outhet, both of Montreal; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Leona Phillips
REDDING - Services for Leona Claudine Phillips, 83, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Full Gospel Assemblies in Caruthers.

Mrs. Phillips died Friday, July 28, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Feb. 21, 1917, in Lavaca, Ark., she moved to Shasta County in 1982 from Caruthers.
She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Center Church of God in Redding.
Survivors include husband Paul; sons Charles of Selma and Billy of Redding; brothers Orville Keck of Houston and Ray Keck of Fort Smith, Ark.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Prado died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Jan. 11, 1930, in San Francisco, he moved to Shasta County in 1971 from Santa Clara.
He was a sheet metal worker with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in the San Francisco Bay area, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Redding.
Survivors include wife Sylvia; sons Emilio of Shasta Lake, Michael of Redding and Tony of Anderson; daughters Ruth of Pine Grove, Emily of San Jose, and Linda Sellers and Selina Ritchie, both of Shasta Lake; brother Joseph of Newark; sister Suky Febo of Newark; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gavazza died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at her residence following a long illness.
Born Sept. 13, 1949, in Oakland, she moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Moraga.
She was the co-owner of City-Mini Storage in Redding for 10 years and a volunteer at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Survivors include husband John; sons Joseph of Redding and Jonathon of Palo Cedro; daughter Rhiannon Fugot of Cohasset; brothers David Stammet of Shasta Lake and Stephen Becker of Sacramento; sister Madeleine Gordon of El Cerrito; and three grandchildren.
