FRENCH GULCH - Lawrence James Burns Jr., 48, of French Gulch died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his residence following a long illness.
Private family services will be conducted.
Born March 13, 1952, in Redding, he was a lifelong resident of Shasta County.
He was a gold miner, a member of the Odd Fellows in French Gulch and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include brother Michael of Cottonwood; and sister Teddy Eggleston of San Francisco.
Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.
Frederick Lombardi
MOUNT SHASTA - Graveside services for Frederick Lombardi, 74, of Mount Shasta will be at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at Golden Gate National Cemetery
in San Bruno.
Mr. Lombardi died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at his residence.
Born May 4, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Siskiyou County in 1988 from San Bruno.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a Friend of the Library in Mount Shasta, a member of Sisson Museum in Mount Shasta and a member of the Nightmares of Mount Shasta.
Survivors include wife Ramona; sons Edward of Salvador, Brazil, Victor of Mount Shasta and Richard of Munich, Germany.

Tomiko Miele
REDDING - Tomiko Miele, 60, of Redding died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding following a short illness.
Private family services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Roccarainola Cemetery
in Roccarainola, Italy.
Born Dec. 26, 1939, in Tokyo, she moved to Shasta County in 1981 from Healdsburg.
She was the owner/operator of Nello's Place restaurant in Redding for 18 years.
Survivors include sons Angelo of Redding and Michael of Folsom; daughters Rosanna and Gina, both of Redding; four brothers in Japan; three sisters in Japan; and nine grandchildren.

Gregory Smith
COTTONWOOD - Services for Gregory Darryl Smith, 32, of Cottonwood will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.
Mr. Smith died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at his residence following a short illness.
Born Feb. 8, 1968, he moved to Shasta County from Susanville.
He was a millworker.
Survivors include brothers David of Reno, Nev., and Jeffrey of Redding; father Larry of San Diego; and grandfather Norman Nickelson of Auburn.

Eleanor Jones
REDDING - Eleanor Erika Jones, 78, of Redding died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at Redding Medical Center.
Private family services will be conducted.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, in Eau Claire, Wis., she moved to Shasta County in 1989 from Ventura.
She was a yoga teacher at the YMCA in Ventura and Santa Barbara for 25 years.
Survivors include sons Robert of Ojai and David of Edmond, Okla.; daughter Christine Van Pelt of Redding; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Corbin Bingham
REDDING - Services for Corbin Jay Bingham, 26, of Redding will be at noon Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Redding.
Bishop Mark Eliason of the church will officiate.
Burial will be at Randolph Cemetery
in Randolph, Utah.
There will be a visitation from noon to 7 p.m. Monday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.
Mr. Bingham died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Battle Mountain Hospital in Battle Mountain, Nev., following an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 17, 1974, in Boise, Idaho, he moved to Shasta County in 1991 from Fall River Mills.
He was an engineering student at San Jose State University and a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina.
Survivors include brother Garth of Provo, Utah; sisters Jilleen of Redding, Tonya Jankowski of Lehi, Utah, Elizabeth of Midvale, Utah, and Janalie of Redding; and parents Bruce and Sandra Bingham of Redding.

Walter Clayton
REDDING - Walter Handsome Clayton, 76, of Redding died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Applewood Inn care center in Redding.
No services will be conducted.
Born June 8, 1924, in Bristow, Okla., he moved to Shasta County in 1989 from Bakersfield.
He was a an oil field worker for Peter Bauden Drilling Co.
Survivors include wife Thelma; daughter Lorraine Fijac of Texas; stepdaughter Treva Hauck of Redding; sisters Ella Northen of Sand Springs, Okla., Jane Lane of Bristow and Evelyn Devins of Depew, Okla.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
