Lyal Northey
LOS MOLINOS - Graveside services for Lyal Elitta Kisling Northey, 87, of Los Molinos will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Los Molinos Cemetery.

The Rev. John Bohrer will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Mrs. Northey died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.

Born Sept. 1, 1913, in Greeley County, Neb., she moved to Tehama County in 1972 from Shasta County.

She was a real estate agent and a member of the Shasta County Sheriff's Possettes.

Survivors include sons Durward Gibb of Redding, Revis Gibb of Tennessee and Arley Kisling of Lakeport; daughter Coletitta Brown of Grass Valley; sister Twilah Johansen of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Janice Berton
REDDING - Janice Diane Berton, 61, of Redding died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at Redding Medical Center.

Private family services will be conducted.

Born Jan. 27, 1939, in Oakland, she moved to Shasta County in 1986 from Sacramento.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shasta Baptist Church in Redding.

Survivors include husband Glenn; son Terry of Redding; daughters Shelly Renshaw and Erma Lee, both of Redding; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Thomas Provost
HAPPY VALLEY - Thomas John Provost, 57, of Happy Valley died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at his residence following a long illness.

No services will be conducted.

Born May 26, 1943, in Holyoke, Mass., he moved to Shasta County in 1989 from Fairfield. He was a machinist for Bethlehem Steel in San Francisco and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include wife Gail; son James of Fort Hood, Texas; daughter Diana of Happy Valley; brother Vernon of Sacramento; and one grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.

Orin Mann
MILLVILLE - Orin Mann, 59, of Millville died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding following a short illness.

Private family services were conducted.

Born Oct. 31, 1941, in Chico, he moved to Shasta County in 1941 from Chico.

He worked for Metro Trucking, was a supervisor at Roseburg Lumber Co. in Anderson and a lifetime member of the Straight Arrow Bow Hunters Club.

Survivors include wife Carol; sons Kirk and Mark, both of Millville; brothers Robert of Palo Cedro and Galen of Anderson; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.

Nicholas Zupo III
BELLA VISTA - Services for Nicholas Zupo III, 64, of Bella Vista will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.

Orville Simmons will officiate.

Mr. Zupo died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at his residence.

Born Dec. 20, 1936, in San Francisco, he moved to Shasta County in 1997 from Victorville. He was a fish culturist for the state Department of Fish and Game, a U.S. Army veteran, member of Ducks Unlimited, the Audubon Society, the Wintu Audubon Association, the National Rifle Association and worked at Darrah Springs Hatchery, Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery, and the Mojave Fish Hatchery.

Survivors include wife Barbara; sons Robert of San Marcos, Texas; daughter Rebecca of Phoenix; and sister Sandra Callison of Napa.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro.

Betty Mefford
RED BLUFF - Graveside services for Betty Jane Mefford, 75, of Red Bluff will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery icon in Red Bluff.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Mrs. Mefford died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

Born Sept. 9, 1925, in Mount Harris, Colo., she moved to Tehama County in 1933 from Mount Harris.

She was an accountant for Louisiana Pacific.

Survivors include son Douglas of Corning; daughter Diana Prunty of Red Bluff; brothers John Ayres of Magalia and William Ayres of Red Bluff; sisters Phoebe Edwards of Trinidad, JoAnn Jensen of Sacramento, Patricia Marsh of Corning and Viola Wilson of Clovis; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements are being handled by Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers.

Benjamin Klein
REDDING - Services for Benjamin Thomas Klein, 17, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Redding Ward.

Bishop Mark Eliason of the church will officiate.

Burial will be at Ogburn-Inwood Cemetery icon in Shingletown.

Klein died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Redding following an automobile accident.

Born July 31, 1983, in Redding, he was a lifelong resident of Shasta County.

He was a senior at Anderson High School; an athlete participating in the Anderson High School football team, soccer team, tennis team and wrestling team; a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in Redding; and a life member of the Boy Scouts Troop No. 37.

Survivors include brothers Kristopher of Sarasota, Fla., Shane, Luke, and Jonathan, all of Redding; sister Kimberly of Shasta Lake; and parents Buster and Deedee of Redding.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Benjamin T. Klein Memorial Fund, c/o Members 1st Credit Union, P.O. Box 492395, Redding, CA 96049.
