REDDING - Services for Leo William Ledford, 81, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.
The Rev. O. Kris Widmer of Redding Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.
Burial will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery
in Eagle Point, Ore.
Mr. Ledford died Monday, April 9, 2001, at his residence.
Born March 3, 1920, in Commerce, Texas, he moved to Shasta County in 1959 from Hayward. He was a heavy equipment operator for the city of Redding, a U.S. Army veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, and a member of Redding Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Redding Springs Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7169 and the Northern California Golf Association.
Survivors include wife Helen; son Leo Jr. of Pomona, N.Y.; daughter Lorna Graham of Lakeview, Ore.; brother Tommy of Marysville; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.
Helen Smith
WEAVERVILLE - Graveside services for Helen J. Smith, 66, of Weaverville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Weaverville Cemetery.
The Rev. Ken Downey of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Canyonwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Redding.
Born March 26, 1935, in Junction City, she was a lifelong resident of Trinity County.
She was a legal secretary for Al Wilkins in Weaverville, the county clerk at the courthouse in Weaverville and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include husband Frederick; son Marshall Crim; daughters Wendy Tyler of Lewiston, Denise Youndeer of Oakland and Ruth Hanover of Weaverville; brother Charles White of Anaheim; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Chapel in Weaverville.
Russell Keenan
REDDING - Graveside services for Russell Keenan, 73, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redding Cemetery.
The Rev. Dennis Benfield of Happy Valley Baptist Church will officiate.
Mr. Keenan died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at his residence.
Born Aug. 23, 1927, in Stockton, he moved to Shasta County soon after. He was a design engineer for the California Department of Transportation, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the State of California Employees Association.
Survivors include sons Robert of Redding and Michael of Houston; daughter Janice Van Horn of Fort Bragg; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

John Melton
REDDING - Services for John Melvin Melton, 86, of Redding will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the chapel.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Cemetery
in Redding.
Mr. Melton died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born July 10, 1914, in Brownwood, Texas, he moved to Shasta County in 1931 from Caldwell, Idaho.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Operating Engineers Union.
Survivors include brother Bryan of Colville, Wash.

William Ellison
REDDING - Services for William Edward Ellison, 76, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Redding Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bishop Mark Eliason of the church will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald's Chapel in Redding.
Burial will be at Redding Cemetery.
Mr. Ellison died Friday, April 6, 2001, at his residence.
Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Independence, Kan., he moved to Shasta County in 1936 from Tennant. He was a co-owner of Tidril Corp. in Redding, a member of Redding Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a member of Iron Workers Local 118 in the San Francisco area and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include wife Joyce; sons William of Red Bluff, James of Palo Cedro and David of Redding; daughter Sandra of Albany; stepsons Gary Johnson of Cottonwood and Larry Johnson of Redding; stepdaughter Collette Bassett of Paradise; brother Gary of Yuba City; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Born Nov. 24, 1922, in Waubun, Minn., she moved to Shasta County in 1947 from Susanville.
She was a homemaker and a member of Anderson Senior Citizen Association.
Survivors include sons Dennis Dallen and Rod Cozart, both of Redding; sisters Ruth of Hastings, Minn., and Jeannette Nelson of California; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

ANDERSON - Mary R. Jones, 71, of Anderson died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at her residence.
No services will be conducted.
Burial will be at Redding Cemetery.
Born June 29, 1929, in Tulsa, Okla., she moved to Shasta County in 1956 from Westwood.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Anderson.
Survivors include husband Edward; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
