CASTELLA - Services for Phyllis Marie Ballard, 77, of Castella will be at 6 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Mount Shasta.

Mrs. Ballard died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta.
Born Aug. 2, 1922, in Wadena, Minn., she moved to Siskiyou County in 1963 from Long Beach.
She was a homemaker, member of First Baptist Church in Mount Shasta and the Christian Women's Club of Mount Shasta.
Survivors include sons David of Lakehead, Eric of Clear Creek, Dan of Mount Shasta and Brian of Dunsmuir; daughters Carolyn of Castella, Joy Wilson of Redding and Christine Moore of Redding; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SHASTA LAKE - Services for Hazel Marie Boothroyd, 91, of Shasta Lake will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Lawncrest Funeral Chapel in Redding.
Shasta County Sheriff Jim Pope will officiate.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lawncrest Funeral Chapel in Redding.
Burial will be at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
Mrs. Boothroyd died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at her residence.
Born Jan. 30, 1908, in Chicago, she moved to Shasta County in 1938.
She was a self-employed real estate broker for 24 years, the owner and operator of Boothroyd Realty in Redding from 1965 to 1971, a past member of Epsilon Eta Phi Sorority in Chicago, and past president and founder of the Shasta Chapter of Self Help for Hard of Hearing People (SHHHASTA) Inc.
Survivors include son Bert of Salinas; daughter Alice Duba of Fresno; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Susan Gahring-Dunn
REDDING - Graveside services for Susan Lillian Gahring-Dunn, 57, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Weaverville Cemetery.
Mrs. Gahring-Dunn died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at her residence from a long illness.
Born Aug. 28, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, she moved to Shasta County earlier this year from Hayfork. She had lived in Redding before moving to Hayfork in 1991.
She was a teacher at Solid Rock Christian Academy in Hayfork, a manager for Motel Trinity in Weaverville, a former member of the Little Country Church in Redding and a member of the Solid Rock Christian Fellowship in Hayfork.
Survivors include husband George Woods of Hayfork; daughters Kathleen Dunn of Redding and Deborah Dunn-Yeager of Santa Barbara; brother Richard Gahring of Redding; sisters Patricia Curry of Redding and Elizabeth Pierce of Graham, Wash.; and mother Adelaide Gahring of Redding.

VALLEJO - Services for former Anderson resident Berness Louise Medford, 85, of Vallejo will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Anderson's Funeral Chapel in Anderson.

Mrs. Medford died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at her daughter's residence in Vallejo.
Born April 26, 1914, in Red Bluff, she later moved to Anderson and finally to Solano County in 1994.
She was an office manager for Family Service Agency.
Survivors include daughters Marsha of Vallejo and Cheryl von Tress of Santa Rosa; brother Homer Whitten of Red Bluff; sisters Annabelle Wright and Susan Adele York, both of Chico, and Nancy Wilson of Red Bluff; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was an electrical engineer for P.M.I.
Survivors include wife Ella, sons Christopher of Palo Cedro and Eric Aday of Michigan; daughters Jennifer of Wisconsin, Shannon Taylor and Angela Aday, both of Palo Cedro; sister Moira Kline of Minnesota; mother Maggie of Minnesota; father Gene of Washington; and one grandchild.

William VanDusen
REDDING - Services for William W. VanDusen, 69, of Redding will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Redding.

Mr. VanDusen died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at his residence.
Born June 25, 1930, in Oakland, he moved to Shasta County in 1987 from Susanville.
He was a forest ranger for the California Department of Forestry, a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Shasta Camera Club, California Department of Forestry 25 Year Club and the First Presbyterian Church in Redding.
Survivors include wife Lee; sons Charles of Redding and James of Alton, Ill.; daughters Susan Eckles of Jacksonville, Fla., and Aimee McLeod of Lemoore; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Baker died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Oct. 6, 1911, in Paris, Texas, she moved to Shasta County in March from Washougal, Wash.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons Fred of Pullman, Wash., and Jim of Washougal; daughters Gwenn Good of Anderson, Janice Rhinehart of Modesto and Nettie Cox of Mesa, Ariz.; sister Mary Roden of Golden Valley, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
