John Gennuso
REDDING - John Joseph Gennuso, 56, of Redding died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at his residence following a short illness.

No services will be conducted.

Born Aug. 8, 1943, in Rochester, N.Y., he moved to Shasta County in 1993 from Beaumont.

He was the owner of Josh Construction in Riverside.

Survivors include wife Jennie; sons Joe and Jack, both of Rochester; stepdaughter Michele Garcia of Cathedral City; sister Rosemarie Warren of Yorba Linda; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by McDonald's Redding Chapel.

Louie 'Biji' Freschi
PALO CEDRO - Louie ''Biji'' Freschi, 83, of Palo Cedro died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, in Castro Valley.

Services have been conducted.

Born Jan. 29, 1916, in Oakland, he moved to Shasta County in 1973 from his birthplace.

He was a co-owner of Freschi Box Co. in Oakland and a member of Sons of Italy in Redding.

Survivors include son Larry of the San Francisco Bay area; brother Gino of Castro Valley and Albert of Alameda; and three grandchildren.

Marie Sterchi
WEED - Marie Sterchi, 90, of Weed died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Mercy Care Center in Mount Shasta.

No services will be conducted.

Born Aug. 29, 1909, in San Francisco, she moved to Siskiyou County in 1919 from her birthplace.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by husband Werner.

Arrangements are being handled by Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel in Mount Shasta.

Larry Cilk
PHOENIX - Former Red Bluff resident Larry W. Cilk, 54, of Phoenix died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Arrowhead Hospital in Phoenix following a long illness.

No services will be conducted.

Born Sept. 25, 1945, in Anacortes, Wash., he moved to Tehama County in 1946 from his birthplace and later to Phoenix.

He was a store owner in Phoenix, served in the U.S. Navy and was a California Highway Patrol officer.

Survivors include wife Freda Ann; son Chad of Guam; parents Lawrence and Edna Cilk of Red Bluff; and one grandchild.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 2625 Park Marina Drive, Redding, CA 96001.

Janis Blackburn
HAYFORK - Janis M. Blackburn, 80, of Hayfork died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at her residence.

Services have been conducted.

Born Oct. 31, 1919, in East Palestine, Ohio, she moved to Trinity County in 1980 from Ukiah.

She was a homemaker and a member of Weaverville Seventh-day Adventist Church in Weaverville.

Survivors include husband Charlie; son Tom of Hayfork; daughter Susanne Adams-Gavigan of Redding; brother Jim Slusser of Orleans; and one grandchild.

Fanchon 'Irish' Collins
FALL RIVER MILLS - Fanchon Lamae ''Irish'' Collins, 65, of Fall River Mills died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills.

Services are pending.

Born May 12, 1934, in North Dakota, she moved to Shasta County in 1968 from San Diego.

She was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Fall River Mills.

Survivors include longtime companion Sparky Bethel; sons John Torborg of Redding and Michael Torborg of Wasilla, Alaska; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson.

June Maag Fidroeff
LAKEHEAD - June Maag Fidroeff, 78, of Lakehead died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare in Redding.

Private family services will be conducted.

Born Sept. 26, 1921, in East Los Angeles, she moved to Shasta County in 1954 from Rosemead.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons Wilford Fidroeff II of Illinois and Charles of Brookings, Ore.; brothers Wesley Maag of Shasta Lake and Gene Maag of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding.

Thomas Mutchie
RED BLUFF - Services for Thomas Luke Mutchie, 58, of Red Bluff will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of the Flowers in Red Bluff.

Mr. Mutchie died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at his residence.

Born Nov. 2, 1941, in Redding, he lived in Tehama County for 32 years.

He was the owner of a maintenance business, the assistant manager of an Army-Navy store in Red Bluff and a member of the Ripley Creek Rod and Gun Club in Manton for 25 years.

Survivors include wife Sherrie; sons Frank of Anchorage, Alaska, and Kirk of Redding; daughter Charmagne Mears of Eagle River, Alaska; stepdaughter Gabrielle Cahalan; brother Robert of Crescent City; mother Cora of Red Bluff; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Tehama County Unit, Redding Field Office, 3290 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002-2005 or St. Elizabeth Hospice, 2550 Sister Mary Columba Drive, Red Bluff, CA 96080.
