Donald Dean Drummond
Donald Dean Drummond of Woodland died Thursday, Aug. 30 at age 81.
Mr. Drummond was born Dec. 7, 1923 in San Francisco. He had been a Yolo County resident for 17 years. He graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco. He joined the Navy on Jan. 26, 1942 and was honorably discharged on Sept. 14, 1945. He spent most of his career working as a warehousemen for Ampex in Redwood City.
Survivors include Mr. Drummond's daughter, Donna Trekell and her husband Douglas of Vacaville; his son, Stanley Drummond of Orland; and his grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Trekell of Vacaville. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Ila Mae Bailey; his parents, Allen and Sophia (Nicol) Drummond; his sister, Marsella Carr; and his brothers, Allen, James and William Drummond.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Drummond's name be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Community Presbyterian Church, 425 Hemlock St., Vacaville. McCune Garden Chapel of Vacaville is assisting the family with arrangements.
ORTIZ
Jose 'Sal' Solomon Ortiz
Jose "Sal" Solomon Ortiz died in Woodland Thursday, May 19, 2005 at age 90.
Mr. Ortiz was born May 28, 1914 in Comejos, Colo. He had been a Yolo Country resident for 15 years. He attended Star High School in Alamosa, Colo. He worked as a farmer and production worker for 48 years. He was a member of Saint Felistas Choir of San Leandro and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland.
Survivors include his daughters, Norma Jean Ross and her husband Robert of Eldorado Hills and Cindy Ortiz James and her husband Bob of Boise, Idaho; his sons, Jerry Ortiz and his wife Dixie of Orem, Utah, Wayne Ortiz and his wife Darcy and Randy Ortiz and his wife Judy all of Woodland; his grandchildren, Cheryl Stefani and her husband Mike of Antioch; Robert Ross and his wife Amy of Martinez, Gregory Ross and his wife Kristi of Canoga Park, Michael Ross and his wife Stephanie of Danville, Christy Tousley and her husband John of Monroe, N.Y., Jill Murdock and her husband Rob of Provo, Utah, Ryan Ortiz and his wife Amy of Spanish Fork, Utah, Todd Ortiz of Orem, Utah and Kayla and Chelsea Ortiz of Woodland and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services: Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary. Interment will follow the service at Monument Hill Memorial Park. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
DuBOIS
Francis Beveridge DuBois
Francis Beveridge DuBois died of cardiac disease on Feb. 20, 2005, at his home in Davis' University Retirement Community. He was 91.
A memorial service and reception will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road.
He was born Oct. 23, 1913, in Rough and Ready, to Luther and Johanne Johnson DuBois, who were both teachers in Woodland schools. DuBois Park is named after them.
A resident of Yolo County since 1923, he graduated from Woodland High School in 1929. After a year in the Merchant Marine, he studied at the Sorbonne, University of Grenoble, University of Dresden and the University of Mexico. After graduating from Stanford in 1939, he worked for the state of California as a statistician.
He had a long career in rice farming and served on the boards of the California Crop Improvement Association and Rice Growers Association, and he was founder of the Tomato Growers Association. He and Regnar Paulsen formed Demeter Corp. and farmed in Yolo, Sacramento and Sutter counties for several decades.
He was active in community service, serving for many years on the boards of the Carmel Bach Festival, the Monterey Institute of International Studies, KVIE Channel 6, Sacramento Symphony, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, United World Federalists, the UC Davis Medical School Board of Visitors and a UC Davis agricultural project in Egypt.
He was active in the DuBois Family Association of New Paltz, N.Y., and served as an officer on the board for many years. He also was active in fund-raising for many community organizations and served as president of Woodland Rotary. He was a longtime member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis. At Stanford, he was a member of El Capitan Eating Club.
His family said he was widely traveled and passionately interested in the rehabilitation of an 1870 home in Westport where he spent summers and vacations for the past 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Evans DuBois in 1968; and his brothers, Alfred and Forest.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Griffin Neal; his children, Ruth Roxane Loud Silverberg and her husband Rabbi Yoel Silverberg of Monsey, N.Y.; Miron W. Neal III and his wife Deborah Thomas of Portland, Ore.; and Dr. Edward Griffin Neal of Davis.
He is further survived by his grandchild, Arey Mark Friedman; a nephew, David DuBois and his wife Sandy and their sons; and his cousin, Louise Barth and her husband Roy and their children and grandchildren, all of Winters.

CALLISON
Jean C. Callison
Mrs. Jean C. Callison passed away on April 16, 2004 in Vacaville following a long illness. Born on March 31, 1927 in Oakland, she was 77 years old.
A resident of Vacaville, she worked as a school-teacher for 42 years, retiring in 1987. She taught at Pleasants Valley School, Elm School and Alamo School. She was a member for 49 years of the Vacaville Chapter 28 Order of the Eastern Star, she was past matron for two years and former deputy grand matron. She was in the retired teacher's association and was an avid cat and animal lover.
She was the granddaughter of William Pleasants, who settled in Pleasants Valley in 1849. She found peace and joy on her trips to Putah Creek. She was honored by having the Jean Callison Elementary School named after her.
She was a 1944 graduate of Winters High School.
Jean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis D. Callison; daughters Helen, Nancy and Donna; and sister, Ethel Hoskins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth Hoskins.
A memorial service for Mrs. Callison will be held on Thursday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. Dave Bunje from the Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield will officiate. Disposition will be private.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Callison's name to the Jean Callison Elementary School.
ORDÓÑEZ
José Maria Salazar Ordóñez
José Maria Salazar Ordóñez died in Ensenada BC, Mexico Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 at age 46.
Mr. Ordóñez was born July 8, 1958 in Mexicali BC, Mexico. He had been a Yolo County resident for 34 years. He attended Woodland High School and Woodland Community College.
Survivors include Mr. Ordóñez's wife, Mary Rebecca Ordóñez; his children, Rosalie, Trina, Jose Don, and Monica Ordóñez all of Woodland; his stepdaughters, Rebecca and Holly Annis of Woodland; his grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony and Alexandra of Woodland; his mother, Rosalia Hernandez and her husband Nelson of Woodland; his sisters, Enriqueta Ordóñez, Rosalia Ordóñez and her husband Emilio Ramazzini and Reyna Madueño and her husband German all of Woodland, Guadalupe Rosales and her husband Hugo of Vacaville; and Maria Tafoya of Washington state; his brothers Salvador Ordóñez and his wife Virginia of Sacramento and Tory Salazar Ordóñez of Woodland and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eduardo Esteban Gil.
Services: A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery following Mass. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
CAMACHO
Juan A. Camacho
Juan Camacho dies in Argentina
Alberto C. Ramos of Winters recently received word that his brother, Juan Antonio Camacho of Argentina, died. He was 58 years old.
Mr. Camacho is survived by his wife, Gloria, and children: Paco, a businessman; Juan Antonio Jr., an engineer; Roy, a doctor; Rosa and Esperanza, both school teachers. He is also survived by two brothers Alberto Ramos of Winters and Roy Camacho of Argentina.

IBARRA
Rosario Ibarra
Rosario Ibarra died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at age 70.
Born June 3, 1933, in Puerto Rico, Mrs. Ibarra had been a Yolo County resident for 25 years. She was a retired state employee and worked for Public Employee Retirement System.
Survivors include her daughters, Carmen Dunn, and Suzanne Nelson; son, Jose Dunn; grandchildren, Sammy Arroyo, Amanda Arroyo, Olivia Ayala, Allison Cornelious, Blake Nelson, and Robert "Bobby" Dunn. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel "Sammy" Dunn.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at a later date.
PEARSON
Dean William Pearson
Dean William Pearson died on April 4, 2006, at his Woodland home. He was 57.
A celebration of his life will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Heidrick Agricultural History Center, 1962 Hays Lane in Woodland. Private interment will follow at the Knights Landing Cemetery.
Born in Napa on June 12, 1948, to Bill and May (Floyd) Pearson, he moved became a Yolo County resident at the age of 5 when his parents moved to Knights Landing in 1953. Upon graduation from Woodland High School in 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he served from 1966 to 1970. He was employed by Nugget Market in Woodland for 34 years and was a volunteer at the Yolo County Historical Museum.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Pearson.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diana Pearson of Woodland; a daughter, Valerie Jang and her husband Michael of La Jolla; a brother, Ron Pearson and his wife Diana of Woodland; a cousin, Marsha Moody and her husband Howard of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Woodland Tree Foundation, First Baptist Church of Woodland or Woodland Christian School.
