Jean Marie Fellers Feeney
Jean Marie Fellers Feeney died Dec. 24, 2003, at Sutter Davis Hospital after a short illness. Born July 30, 1921, in Lima, Ohio, she was 82 years old.
She attended local schools in Lima and in Madison, Wis., where she graduated from high school.
She met and marriage Dean Feeney in Madison. Dean was a pilot in the Army Air Forces during World War II and a pilot on the Berlin Airlift with the U.S. Air Force.
She enjoyed golf, painting, crossword puzzles and going on cruises, sometimes taking one of her four grandchildren.
She moved to Davis in 1997 from her longtime home in Atwater, in Merced County. She lived at Covell Gardens, where she enjoyed her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son, David, who was killed in an airplane accident.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Feeney of Davis and his wife Lee Ann Bailey, and their children, Adam, Nora, Megan and Ariel Feeney, all of Davis.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Covell Gardens, 1111 Alvarado Ave. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
FELIX
James E. Felix
James Felix, an 85-year resident of Winters, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at Sierra Health Care in Davis. Born on Dec. 11, 1910, in Lavigny, Switzerland, he was 90 years old.
Mr. Felix came to the US from Switzerland with his parents Emil and Marie Felix, on a ship in 1915. He grew up in Winters and graduated from Winters High School. Mr. Felix purchased an almond orchard in 1940 and has been an active almond rancher for the past 61 years. He has been a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Winters since December of 1926. He has served the church as an elder and a deacon. He was the co-chairman for the church centennial in 1975 and was the president of the board of trustees for three years. He was a member of the California Farm Bureau. Mr. Felix and his late wife traveled extensively throughout Europe and Hawaii.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth A. Ramsey and her husband Lance of Lodi; grandchildren, Mike Carbahal of Rohnert Park, Mark and Noel Carbahal of Woodland, David Ramsey of Fresno, Brandon Ramsey, Katherine Ramsey and Laura Ramsey all of Lodi, eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Felix was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Felix, on Dec. 6, 1999 and by his daughter, Dorothy J. Carbahal, on June 21, 1986.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 205 Russell in Winters. Burial followed Tuesday’s service at the Winters Cemetery.
FENTON
Gerald F. Fenton
Gerald F. Fenton passed away Friday, July 16, 2004, in Fairfield at age 49. He was a native to California and was born on December 18, 1954, in Bakersfield.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Fenton; son, James Fenton and wife Claudia; daughter, Jeanie Hannigan and husband Matthew; stepdaughters, Elizabeth and Becky Boles; grandchildren, Bryan, Erin and Jacob Fenton, and Michael and Emily Hannigan; parents, Doy and Gene Fenton; sisters, Paulette Eyraud and husband Marty, Darlene Marler and husband Scott, and Tracey Pereida and husband Ed. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends.
Gerald traveled the state working in the oil and gas industry for Atlantic Oil Company for many years. Since 1995, he was employed by Paul Graham Drilling in Rio Vista, Calif. He has been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland for many years. He had coached youth baseball in Woodland and had been a member and officer of the 3Rs bowling league. Gerald enjoyed fishing, camping, and sharing a humorous tale. He was an honorable man, always willing to lend a helping hand. His heart and humor will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at McNary's Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 23, at First Baptist Church, 1616 West Street, followed by a graveside service at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
FERNANDEZ
Katherine Fernandez
Mrs. Katherine Fernandez passed away on Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Sutter Davis Hospital in Davis, after a lengthy illness. Born on December 23, 1912, in Fresno, California, she was 86 years old.
Mrs. Fernandez has resided in Winters for the past 76 years. She and her husband Frank Fernandez owned a ranch in Winters from 1932 to 1972. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. She was described by family members as a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, and her family said she could plant anything and it would grow.
She is survived by her children, Frank Fernandez, Jr., of Fairfield; John Fernandez and his wife Maryann of Vacaville, and Mary Hill and her husband Austin of Winters. Mrs. Fernandez also leaves a sister, Victoria Gill of Valley, and Grandchildren, Kimi Ann Fernandez and Katelyn Marie Hill both of Winters; Frank Fernandez Jr., Anna Fernandez and Becky Fernandez, all of Vacaville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Baldemero and Anna Gill, and her husband Frank Fernandez.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 2, from 4 - 8 p.m., at Smith's Colonial Chapel, in Winters. The vigil service will be at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 2 p.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. Burial will follow at the Winters Cemetery. Father Joseph Ternullo will officiate the Mass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel in Winters.
FIDDLER
Jack Norman Fiddler (1st of 2 obits.)
Jack Norman Fiddler, 73, of Sacramento, passed away peacefully at the home of his son Jason Fiddler in Meridian, Idaho on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004 after a long fight with cancer.
Jack was born April 28, 1931 in Woodland, the son of Joseph and Lois Fiddler of Madison. He was a banker most of his life and a good friend to those who knew him. He loved traveling, dancing and spending time with family and friends. He also loved the time he spent at the cabin in Pine, Idaho. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Jack is survived by three children, Janice Mosley and her husband Larry of Tulsa, Okla., Jason Fiddler and his wife Pam of Meridian, Idaho, and Caren Gallmeister and her husband Glen of Cottonwood; two sisters, Doreen Ratliff of Gridley and Evelyn Hunter of Esparto; and brother George Fiddler of Sacramento.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jeffery Fiddler; his granddaughter, Ashley Fiddler; his brothers, Darrel, Uhl and Joe Fiddler; and his sisters, Edith Samuels and Sue Dee Fiddler.
Jack's family and friends would like to extend their great appreciation to the staff of St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) of Meridian and St. Luke's Hospice for their excellent quality of care.

Jack Norman Fiddler died in Meridian, Idaho Sunday, Oct. 10 at age 73.

FIDDYMENT
Russell F. Fiddyment, Jr. (1 of 2)
Russell F. Fiddyment, Jr., a descendant of the pioneer Fiddyment family of Roseville, passed away at Woodland Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, March 17, 2004 of complications from CLL. Born Jan. 25, 1921 in Roseville, Ca. Russ attended Roseville schools, San Rafael Military Academy, UC Davis, and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1946.
Russell raised turkeys on the family property in Roseville, and then entered the construction business building homes and apartments in Woodland and Davis with partner Ron Leineke and later Bruce Willoughby. Later he became a Real Estate Broker specializing in agricultural properties.
He was a member of Rotary International, Woodland Elks Club, Yolo Fliers Club, UC Davis Chancellor's club and UC Alumni association.
A pilot in his earlier days, he enjoyed spending time at the family home at Lake Tahoe, studying European history, and spending time with family and friends. He had a special interest in agricultural development in South America especially Brazil, where he traveled with his dear friend Jerry Harrington. He was known for his warm smile, friendly personality and always enjoyed a toast or two with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean Huff Fiddyment of Woodland; son Russell F. Fiddyment III and daughter Martha Ann Fiddyment of Carson City, Nevada, daughter Leslie Murphy and husband Marty of Belvidere, N.J.; stepchildren, Connie Peel of Sacramento, Stan Brown of Woodland, and Rick Brown and wife Betty of Homewood. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brothers David Fiddyment, John Fiddyment and sister Coralie Corin.
Per Russ's wishes, the family invites friends to a party in his honor at the Yolo Fliers Club, 12980 Co Road 94B, Woodland, Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
