Evelyn Cooling
Evelyn Cooling died at her home in Woodland on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006 at age 97.
She was born in South Wales, England, to the late James and Sarah Elizabeth Williams on July 19, 1908. She was a long-time Yolo County farmer, a 60-year member of Farmers Rice Cooperative and a 70-year member of Eastern Star. She was also a past member of White Nile and the Yolo County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include Mrs. Cooling’s daughter, Marilyn Kaupke, of Davis; her granddaughter, Deirdre Cross and her husband Brian; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Amy Cross, all of Winters, and her sister, Penelope Thompson of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John C. Cooling; her granddaughter, Diane Kaupke; brothers, Henry and Rayden Williams and her son-in-law, Charles Rominger Kaupke.
The family requests that memorials be made in Mrs. Coolings name to Yolo County Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA 95617.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 18, at Mc-Nary’s Chapel, 458 College Street, Woodland. A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 434 Cleveland Avenue, Woodland. Interment will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 County Road 22, Woodland.

COOMBES
Sandra Dee (Foster) Coombes
Sandra Dee (Foster) Coombes died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at age 40.
Born Aug. 26, 1962, a native of Woodland, Mrs. Coombes worked as an executive search consultant for Merrill Hutton Associates in Santa Clara. She played an active role in women's help groups and was a constant inspiration to others through her selfless and tireless work, family members reported.
Mrs. Coombes is survived by her husband, David John Coombes; daughters, Brandy Lawless and husband John of Tacoma, Wash., Kandy Pankl and husband Joe of San Antonio, Texas, and Charlotte Coombes of Emsworth Hampshire; and son, Robert Coombes of Morgan Hill.
She is also survived by her grandson, Matthew Bradley; granddaughters, Jamy Lawless and Ann Pankl; parents, Bill and Lorraine Paulson of Woodland and Chuck and Pat Foster of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandmother, Ruth Schafer of Woodland; sister, Lori Bouslaugh and husband Rick of Brush Prairie, Wash.; nephew, Robbie Simmons and wife Megan of Gresham, Ore.; and numerous aunts; uncles and cousins.
A memorial service is scheduled at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 625 W. Gibson Road, Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice in her behalf.
COOMBS
Augustina (Tina) Coombs
Augustina (Tina) Coombs died quietly in her home on Feb. 10, 2005 surrounded by her family. Tina was born Sept. 27, 1916 in Killawai, Hawaii to Feliz and Crestencia Gonzales. Later, the family moved to Winters where she helped on the ranch and attended Olive School. Tina marriage Bob Coombs on Oct. 24, 1937 and they had one daughter, Judy.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband Bob, who died three months and three days before her. Also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Tina is survived by her daughter Judy and her husband, Jim Correia of Arbuckle, grandsons Kevin Correia of Arbuckle, Craig and wife Lisa Correia of College City, granddaughter Tammy Haynie of Moses Lake, WA., seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Tina is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Sackett of Winters and Victoria Weber of Hawaii, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Tina was known as "the sunshine of the family."
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Winters Cemetery.

Howard Frederick Coombs
Howard Frederick Coombs passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2003 in Kililara Hostel, Koo Wee Rup, Australia. he was 88 hears old.
He was the loving stepfather of William Sullivan and family, Jim Sullivan and family of Sacramento, and Julie, Kevin, Paulene and David of Australia.
His parents, Robert Fulton and Stella F. Coombs and his brothers Robert and Melvin A. Coombs, both of Winters, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 5, 2003 at Pakenham Lawn Cemetery in Australia.
COOMBS
Melvin Albert Coombs
Melvin A. Coombs, a much loved and respected member of the Winters Community, quietly passed away early Monday evening, Jan. 6, 2003, while at Sutter Davis Hospital. He was 85 years old.
Mr. Coombs was born Jan. 31, 1917 to Robert and Stella Coombs in Winters. He was one of three children born to them. He honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Army from July 1941 to October 1945. He was an active member of the Winters VFW and American Legion Post 1000. Mr. Coombs was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church for many years.
He marriage Ruth Barbara Vevea in 1945 and the couple had three children. He worked for Vacaville Creamery for 20 years as a milk, cottage cheese and ice cream processor. After retiring from the creamery, he worked for the United States Post Office in Winters as a letter carrier from 1974 to 1984. He had many enjoyments in life. However, his one great love was to go to Reno every Saturday and try his luck at Keno, Blackjack and the "slots." He went so often that they knew him personally at the Cal Neva Club. He will be greatly missed by family and all who knew him.
Mr. Coombs is survived by his daughter, Shirley A. Scullin and her husband Jim, of Winters; two brothers, Robert Coombs of Winters and Howard Coombs of Australia; grandchildren, Mindy Rosales, Manuela and Gordon Collado, Wendy Tanner and Barbara and Gary Tanner, Jr. Numerous great and great-great grandchildren and one nice also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on Dec. 15, 1988, also by two sons, Robert in 1998 and Gary Tanner in 1993.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, Jan. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main Street, in Winters. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 205 Russell Street, in Winters.
Interment will follow at Winters Cemetery, 415 Cemetery Drive.

Robert C. Coombs
Robert C. Coombs passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2004. Graveside services were planned for Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Winters Cemetery.
COONEY
Patricia Gail Cooney
Patricia Gail Cooney died at her home in Woodland Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at age 46.
Mrs. Cooney was born April 29, 1959 in Fresno. She had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. She worked as a waitress in the food service industry.
Survivors include Mrs. Cooney long-time companion, Richard Salas; her daughter, Linsi Dawn Collins of Opelousas, La.; her son, Arlis Keith Horrocks of Quinlan, Texas; four grandchildren; her mother, Roberta Webb and her stepfather, Don Webb, both of Hanford; her sister, Sharon Davis of Knights Landing; her brothers, Thomas Holland of Dallas, Gerald Holland of Princeton, Texas, James Phipps and Richard Phipps, both of West Sacramento and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Truman Holland and her nephew, Gerald Simmons.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Cooney's name be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Cooney, no services are scheduled.
COOPER
Clarace J. Cooper
Clarace June Cooper died March 14, 2001. Born June 15, 1918, she was 82.
One of four children born to Chester and Grace Bond of Woodland, she grew up there and graduated from Woodland High School. Two years after graduation, she marriage Clarence Cooper and moved to Davis, where she raised her two sons, Richard and Craig. She was marriage to Clarence from 1938 to 1961.
Clarace worked for Tandem Properties of Davis for 26 years before retiring at age 75. She really loved her job and often thought of her co-workers as family.
She enjoyed golfing, boating, her bridge club, her annual trip to Tahoe with the girls, and playing cards on her living room floor with her grandchildren. To all who knew her she was a kind and generous soul with a sincere love of life.
She is survived by her sons, Richard and his wife Jennifer of Woodland, and Craig and his wife Toni of Davis. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Channon, Tristan and Josh; two step-grandchildren, Bob and Brian Briggs; and one step-great-grandson, Kevin Briggs of Woodland.
She also leaves two brothers, Chet and Richard Bond; a sister, Geraldine Crittenden; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and dear friend Bonnie Faria.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road. The Davis Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
