Lloyd Franklin Hicks
Lloyd Franklin Hicks passed away at his home in Winters on Dec. 24, 2000. He was born in Hadden, Kansas, on Dec. 8, 1913. He moved to Winters in 1952.
He was a carpenter who loved to build houses and was a member of the Carpenter's Union, Local 180. He worked for E. B. Standish for 30 years. After his retirement in 1976, he worked for Tortosa's Century 21.
Mr. Hicks is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Rose Anna Hicks, his children Margie Topacio of San Diego, David Hicks of Oroville, Robert Hicks of Oroville, Wayne Hicks of Winters, Steve Hicks of Winters and Kathy Brite of Stoneyford. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tony, Robert, Elaine and James Topacio, Bobby Hicks, Johnny and Sylvia Macias, Leanne and James Hicks, Corianne, David Jr. and James Tunstall, Crystall Bruhn and Rashell Payne and 12 great-grandchildren.
HICKS
Mary E. Hicks
Mary E. Hicks died in her sleep in Davis, on March 12, 2001. Born Aug. 15, 1909 to William and Ada Edwards in North Carolina, she was 91.
After graduating from high school, she went to Washington, D.C., where she met and later marriage William J. Hicks in 1931. After residing there for eight years she and her husband moved to Passaic, N.J. for a brief time before a job transfer took them to N.Y. They both finally moved to El Monte in 1942, where she faithfully worked for Benson's Donuts in Alhambra, for 10 years. Retirement brought them to Davis in 1987, where she remained until she died.
She a loving mother and devoted wife, always putting the needs of her four children before her own.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Allen Edwards, and sister, Antha Barber.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William J. Hicks of Davis, and four children, William R. Hicks of West Covina; Dr. John A. Hicks and wife, Susan, of Davis; Joan Weeks and husband, Don, of Escondido; and Mary Driggs and husband, Wayne, of Columbia. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Allen D. Hicks, Michael S. Hicks, Deborah E. Hicks, Jeffery Hicks, Deanna Pruitt, Kathy Hicks, Jennifer Hicks, David Weeks, Dara Weeks and numerous nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, no services will be held at this time. Remembrances in her name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Davis Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Minnie J. Hicks
Minnie Jessie Hicks died peacefully on Oct. 24, 2001, in her Winters residence, at the age of 86. She was born in Romia, Okla., on March 26, 1915, to the late Thomas and Ollie Lewis.
She is survived by her children, Joy Mills of Winters, Billy Hicks of Davis, Ellen Rutledge and husband Bob of Dixon, and Esther Brewer and husband Dale of Winters; and grandchildren and their spouses, Pam and Ray Gilliam, Debra and Craig Walker, Lisha and Howard Shaw, Barbara and Nick Stacey, Rich and Cindy Rutledge, and Brenda McFadden. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Russell Hicks, on July 8, 2001.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the Capay Cemetery in Esparto.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Winters Healthcare Foundation, 7 Main St., Winters, CA 95694.

Rose Anna Hicks
Rose Anna Hicks passed away Feb. 13, 2005 at Sierra Health Care Center in Davis from complications due to pneumonia. While there, she was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Rose was born on Dec. 10, 1916 in Jamestown, Kansas. In her youth, she worked as a practical nurse and eventually came to California where she marriage Lloyd Franklin Hicks in Dixon on Aug. 26, 1939. She and "Frank" raised a family of six children and lived in the Vacaville-Winters area for many years before moving to Winters in 1953.
Rose is survived by her children: Margie Topacio, of San Diego, David Hicks, of Oroville, Robert Hicks, of Oroville, Wayne Hicks, of Sacramento, Steve Hicks, of Winters and Kathy Brite, of Stonyford; many grandchildren: Tony, Robert, Elena and James Topacio; Bobby Hicks; Johnny and Sylvia Macias; Leanne and James Hicks; Corianne, David Jr., and James Tunstall; Rashelle, Payne and Crystal Bruhn, and 13 great grandchildren; also by her sisters Gertrude West, of Concordia, Kansas, Margaret Brown of Pevely, Missouri, Josephine DeMaris, of South Bend, Washington and her brother, Ralph King, of Eudora, Kansas.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, also a native of Kansas, in December, 2000.
She will be missed by family and friends. She was a member of St. Anthony Parish and a service will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 511 Main Street in Winters, Thursday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be next to her late husband Frank, in the Winters Cemetery.

Russell Hicks
Russell Hicks died July 8, 2001, in Davis. Born Sept. 7, 1916, in Pirtle, Okla., he was 84.
He was a roofer, farmer and Baptist minister.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters, Jack Hicks, Wesley Jones, Mose Jones, James Jones, Annie Mae Hicks-Carr, Birdie Hicks, Julia Faye-Hicks and Rena Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Minnie J. Hicks of Winters; four children, Jay Mills of Winters, Billy Hicks of Davis, Ellen Rutledge of Dixon and Esther Brewer of Winters; two brothers, Lois Hicks of Oklahoma and Warren Hicks-Small Bear of Arizona; two sisters, Lillian Hicks-Swindell of Texas and Helen Hicks-Clymore of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a time of visitation Friday at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral at 11 a.m., both at Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main St., in Winters. Interment will follow at the Capay Cemetery.

Grace "Patches" Osborn Hiddleson
Grace "Patches" Osborn Hiddleson died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital in Woodland on Saturday, Jan. 14 at age 97.
Mrs. Hiddleson was born Sept. 22, 1908 in Baroda Camp, India to Don E. Osborn and Alma Lawson Osborn. She had been a Yolo County resident for 73 years. She completed her training at the Highland School of Nursing in Oakland in 1929 and was a registered nurse for 73 years and a water safety instructor for 72 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Woodland and a volunteer at the Woodland Masters Swim Team, YMCA, the Red Cross, Citizens Who Care, Community Care Car, Out of Sight!, International Toastmistresses Club, Girl Scouts of America, Yolo County Sheltered Work Shop, Wayfarer Center, Easter Seals and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include Mrs. Hiddleson's daughters, Betty Ender of Henderson, Nev., Carol Wright of Woodland and Anne Lumley of Copperopolis; her sons, Don Hiddleson of Utah and Bill Hiddleson of Pleasant Hill; her grandchildren, Dennis, Paula and David James, Julie Harrison, Mike, Steve, Daniel, Mark and Matthew Hiddleson, David and Ricky Wright, Eric and Kelly Martinez and Kevin Martinez-Nusz; her great-grandchildren, Seth, Aaron, Zachary, Nathan, Sara, Loren, Danielle and Christian James, Daniel and Samantha Harrison, Hannah, Michaela, Luke, Sierra, Alia, Sarah and Drake Hiddleson, Heather, Randy and Haven Wright, Joshua and Brooklynne Martinez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Chester L. Hiddleson Jr. "the whistling mailman"; her parents; her brother, David Osborn; her sisters, Dorothy Sipes, Carrie Mondol and Alethia Brill and her grandson, Steven Martinez.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Hiddleson's name be directed to the Woodland Recreation Foundation/Hiddleson Pool, 1100 Main St., Suite 260, Woodland, 95695.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at the United Methodist Church of Woodland, 212 Second St. with Pastor John Sublett officiating. Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Hiddleson, private interment will be held at a later date. A celebration of Mrs. Hiddleson's life is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 at Nelson's Grove, Woodland at a time to be determined. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
HIENZSCH
Theresia M. Hienzsch
Theresia M. Hienzsch, nee Ohlhauser passed away on Feb. 9, 2003 in Winters, at her parents home after a short illness with cancer. She was born on July 31, 1944 in Engen, Germany.
She is survived by her husband Magnus; sons Michael and Daniel and foster son Samuel Moore; parents Josef and Dorothea Ohlhauser; sister Gabriele Haskins and her husband David of Black Forest, Germany and many friends in the Winters and Lake Berryessa community.
The vigil and mass were held on Feb. 14 and 15, 2003 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters.
The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
