"Keith, Aubrey Lawrence-final rites for Mr. Keith, 55, Bodfish, were held at Woodland with burial in the family plot at Woodland Cemetery. He is survived by a widow, Marie Keith, of Bodfish, brothers, James and Herbert of Knights Landing, and sisters, Ilene Keith of San Francisco and Vera Darby of Sacramento. Mr. Keith passed away in a local hospital on Saturday. The Hopson Mortuary had charge of arrangements in Bakersfield."

Elton D. Keith
Elton D. Keith passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 14, 1923 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Ben and Esther Keith. He was the eldest of 11 children. He resided in Oklahoma for most of his youth before moving to Winters with his family. He was inducted in the United States Marine Corps in 1944. He was ultimately deployed to Iwo Jima on D-Day of the Pacific, February 19, 1945. He served as a decorated Corporal in the First Battalion, Fifth Marine division. Elton was employed by The County of Yolo for 20 years. Elton was known for his quiet reverence and dedication to The Lord. When living in Oregon, he was instrumental in establishing the first Christian Church on the Pauite Indian Colony. When living in Winters, he and his wife pastored The Faith Tabernacle Church. They were supportive of several missionaries and the La Grande Feliz Orphanage. Ill health forced him to eventually retire from the active ministry.
Elton was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying elk hunting, fishing and prospecting. He had quite the green thumb and enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. His love of music was apparent; his favorite music could be heard throughout any given day. Elton is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma (Mattox) Keith; his four children: Daniel Keith, Phyllis Keith, Rhonda Kimball and Linda Estepa; his six grandchildren: Sherry Mack, Ronald Gonnella, Joel Seigel, Angela Estepa, Carie Estepa and Ryan Estepa. He also has four great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brothers Chas Keith, Ozell Keith, Gene Keith and Glenn Keith; sisters Waltine Barber, Geraldine Willard, Lois Wagoner and Lena Handle. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Lela, brothers Jay T. Keith and Lloyd “Bud” Keith as well as his parents Ben and Esther (Washburn) Keith. Elton will be remembered for his boundless compassion and generosity. He was deeply devoted to his family and was loved and respected by all. He will be greatly missed.
Services were held Friday, March 24 at the Main Street Church. His brother, Reverend Glenn Keith, officiated. Remembrances may be made to the Winters Community Church building fund c/o P.O. Box 424, Winters, CA 95694.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday for Mrs. Henrietta Keith, 73, at Kraft Bros. chapel with burial to follow in the Knights Landing cemetery. Mrs. Keith was a native of Orland [California] and had lived in Knights Landing for the past 50 years. She is survived by a son, Clement Keith, of Knights Landing; a sister, Mrs. Grace Ellington, Redding; and a niece, Mrs. Ray Gillison, Corning.

"Keith, Henry Walker-services for Mr. Keith, 54, of Bodfish, will be held at Woodland. Time and date are pending. Mr. Keith was a laborer at Bodfish and had lived in the city three years. He passed away in a local hospital yesterday. He leaves a son, Kenneth Walker Keith, Knights Landing, CA; and a brother, A.L. Keith of Bodfish. Hopson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements."

James S. Keith

James S. Keith of Knights Landing, for the past three years in the general merchandise business, and formerly a prominent livery stable man, died yesterday morning at 5:30 of dropsey with which he had suffered for more than a year.
On account of the rain and flooded conditions and the fact that the cemetery at Knights Landing is surrounded by water, the question of his funeral has not been decided. The body is at the family home. It probably will be placed in a receiving vault by Undertaker Krellenberg until the flood is over.
Mr. Keith was born in The Dalles, Oregon, Christmas Day, 1856. He was of Scotch-Welsh ancestry, but both of his parents were born in the United States. His mother died when he was but six months of age. Business reverses overtook his father several years later, and the son, before he was in his teens, was fighting his way in the world. He reached Yolo County when a boy and was but 19 years of age when he located at Knights Landing. His first employment was in a livery stable, and he was a wage earner there for ten years, at the expiration of which time he became the proprietor of the business, every detail of which he had mastered, and he conducted it successfully for twenty-five years. Three years ago he purchased the general merchandise store of J. R. Shaw, and was conducting it with the assistance of his sons, who are still in charge, up to the time of his death.
April 24, 1881, Mr. Keith was marriage to Miss Katie Donovan, a native of New York. They were the parents of five sons and two daughters, Roy, Harry, Herbert, James, Jr., Aubrey, Vera, and Ilene. He is also survived by two sisters.

Warren Cash Keith

Warren C. Keith, familiarly known as 'Pap Keith', died in Knights Landing, Saturday night. Deceased was a native of Kentucky and seventy-three years, ten months, and three days of age. He is one of the pioneers of this State, as he came here in 1848. He was a soldier of the Mexican and Civil Wars. He also served with distinction in several different Indian wars. He has been in poor health for several years and gradually grew worse until death ended his eventful career.

Mary Evelyn Latham Keithly
Mary Evelyn Latham Keithly died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the age of 82. Born on July 1, 1923 in Sharon, S.C., Mrs. Keithly had been an Esparto resident for the past 44 years, 36 of them spent with her late husband, Kenneth Keithly. The two meet in South Carolina on a Sunday in December and marriage two weeks later on New Year's Eve, 1944. They were marriage for 53 years.
After raising her six children, Mrs. Keithly attended Yuba College where she received her Vocational Nursing License in 1977 at age 54. She worked for the next 18 years at Alderson's Convalescent Hospital. She retired from her nursing career at the age of 72. In addition to her career, she reportedly enjoyed cooking, eventually creating and selling "Granny Wyatt's" almond roca, which was sold along with other home-made food at the Capay Almond Festival for the past eight years. She was a supporter of several nonprofit organizations such as the Esparto Library, Yolo Hospice and The American Museum of Natural History.
Mrs. Keithly is survived by her six children: Kathleen G. Keithly of San Francisco, Kristine F. Edwards of Denver, Colo., Kay Luthi of Napa, Kenton C. Keithly of Woodland, Karryl Keithly of Sacramento and Kellie Woodward of Enid, Okla., as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, sister and brother in-law, Ethel and George D. Stephens, her mother, Gaynell Latham, brother, Ralph and sister Agnes.
Services: A service has been scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Capay Cemetery on County Road 22. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors have been assisting with the arrangements.
KELLEHER
Daisy L. Kelleher
Daisy L. Kelleher died Oct. 26, 2004, at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento from complications arising from an accident in her home. She was 75.
An evening vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. in Davis. The funeral will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 200 W. 14th St. in Davis. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.
Born to Charles and Alma Bopp in Peoria, Ill., on May 19, 1929, she was 8 years old when her family moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where she later graduated from high school. She marriage her high school sweetheart, Robert P. Kelleher, and they had three children together. They were marriage 51 years before he died on Jan. 27, 2000.
She was described by her family as a devoted mother and friend. Her children said she always baked a cake for their birthdays and was know for her "Junk Box" gifts that could include an array of items that she thought the recipient would like. She loved to dance and laugh and made friends all over the country. Her two last weeks were spent at UC Davis Medical Center where each day she received numerous cards from friends all over the country.
She is survived by her three children, Mike Kelleher and his wife Sandy of Woodland, Pattie Kelleher of Davis, and Kathy Minta and her husband Steve of Port Townsend, Wash. She is further survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her brothers, Dick Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dan Kelleher of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Jo Parrish and her husband Frank of Johnstown, Colo.; and aunt, Lila Gerrish of Clovis.
