Helen Aurelia Ebell
Helen Aurelia Ebell, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7th, 2003, at St. John's Retirement Village in Woodland at the age of 89. She had been a resident of Yolo County since 1930.
Born in Portland, Oregon Nov. 29, 1913, to the late Arthur & Alice (Goodspeed) Pannell, Helen was the loving wife of the late John W. Ebell, and was known as "Peps" or "Pepsi Mom" to all her grandchildren.
She was the mother of four surviving children; Jeanette A. Ehrke of Vacaville, Sally E. Bettini of Fairfield, John (Bill) W. Ebell Jr. and wife Linda of Woodland, and Mary G. Taylor of Folsom. Ten grandchildren; Jennifer Pohl, Molly Baier, Katie Ehrke, Eric Vaughn, Shelley Sabel, Mark Vaughn, Sharel Trono, John W. Ebell III, Tori Jones and Alaina Taylor.
Eleven great grandchildren also survive; Megan and Alex Baier, Ashley Vaughn; Jason, Jeremy, Vincent and Daniel Sabel, Richard Vaughn; Kayla and Mikkel Trono and Macee Jones. Her only brother, Arthur Pannell also survives her.
"Peps" had a love of life, enjoyed having fun with her family, traveling, good food with a "great glass of wine" and rides with her husband John in his fast sport cars.
Mom (Peps) will always be remembered by all her family with a smile on our faces and warmth in our hearts: "We love you Mom."
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2003 at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, Ca. Reverend David Affleck will be officiating. Interment will be held privately at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.

EBENHACK
George Henry Ebenhack
George Henry Ebenhack of Woodland died at his home on Jan. 30, 2004. He was 61.
Ebenhack was born in Westwood, where he attended schools and graduated from Anderson High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-64, later graduating from Humboldt State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree.
Ebenhack was a deputy sheriff with the Tehama County Sheriff's Department for 25 years and lived in Woodland for the past three years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ebenhack of Woodland; daughters Denise Ebenhack, Michelle Chapin and Jennifer Floyd of Red Bluff, and Janeane Ramirez of Sacramento; son Todd Ebenhack of Red Bluff; brother Pete Ebenhack of Stockton; and sister Paula Burnham of Red Bluff. Six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding him in death was his son James Kuxhausen in 1995.
Private family services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in his memory be made to United Cerebral Palsy. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland.
EDGINGTON
Kerrell "Babe" W. Edgington
Kerrell "Babe" W. Edgington born Sept. 3, 1927 in Sacramento died Saturday, May 3, 2003 in Woodland Memorial Hospital at age 75.
He lived in Yolo County all of his adult life and made Woodland his home. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He loved to cook and have barbecue's with his family and friends.
Mr. Edgington served a tour of duty in the Navy during WW II as a radio man 3rd Class aboard the U.S.S. Mobile from Oct. 15, 1943 to April 18, 1946. He belonged to the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Edgington drove truck for A. W. Hays and worked as bartender for the Shanty until he retired in 1989.
Mr. Edgington is survived by his wife, Etta Richardson Edgington. Daughters, Joyce Edgington, Patty Sutteer and husband George, Debbie Youtz and boyfriend Patrick Ried. Sons, Michael Edgington, Dan Edgington and Tim Edgington. Nine grandchildren, Michael Edgington II, Robin Souza, Rick Jones and Kari Youtz, Danielle Dorthalina, Ben and Jaimi Edgington and Tashina Corona and Casey Sutteer. Five great-grandchildren, Mariah and Kaylee Corona, Hailie Dorthalina, Shayne and Haley Souza. He is also survived by his sister, Gertrude Milton; brother, David Edgington and wife Gail; and sister-in-law, Gerry Edgington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Edgington; infant grandson, Thomas Jones; parents, George and Hazel Edgington; brothers, Harold and James Edgington; and sisters, Betty Smith, Nell Moody and Faith Edgington.
A graveside service will be held at the Capay Cemetery in Esparto Friday, May 9, 2003, at 2 p.m.

EDSON
Leo B. Edson
Leo B. Edson, a longtime educator, 31-year resident of Davis and a World War II veteran, died peacefully at his South Davis home on June 11, 2000. He was 79.
A native of Gridley and a member of a pioneering Yolo County family, he graduated from Gridley High School in 1938. He earned a degree from Chico State College in 1942, and later graduated from the University of Notre Dame Officers Candidate School.
A decorated World War II veteran, he was a full U.S. Navy lieutenant who served on the destroyer USS Radford in the Pacific.
He spent 30 years in public education, starting with the Mill Valley Unified School District in 1951 before joining the California Department of Education in 1969, where he worked as a field supervisor. He retired in 1981.
A longtime resident of Davis, he was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Davis, operated a pear ranch in Lake County and was an avid fan of Notre Dame sports.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jeanne; four daughters, Mary Mauer, Joanne Edson, Barbara Edson and her husband Rich Narez, and Noel Edson; one son, Leo Edson and his wife Mary Kay Edson; and two grandchildren, Katie and John Mauer. All are residents of the greater Sacramento area.
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Davis. A mass will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to St. James Catholic Church in Davis.
EDWARDS
Lorraine Jean Edwards
Lorraine Jean Edwards died in Alderson Convalescent Hospital, Woodland Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at age 83.
Born Dec. 8, 1918, in Griswold, Iowa, Mrs. Edwards was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Fern Lembke. She had been a Yolo County resident for 60 years. She was employed as a sales clerk by J.C. Penney Company in Woodland for 32 years. She was a member of the Woodland Christian Disciples of Christ.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Delane Edwards and wife Ann; daughter, Pat Hayes and husband George, all of Woodland; grandchildren, Renee Kuehnau and husband James of Woodland, Sharel Hutchison, Forrest Edwards and wife Stacey and Greg Edwards, all of Sacramento; and great-grandchildren, Cassie Kuehnau of Santa Barbara and Matthew Kuehnau of Woodland.
She is also survived by her sisters, Velma Powers and Guinivere Hemphill, both of Griswold, Iowa; Muriel Hooker of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Belma Dorsheimer and husband Duane of Hawthorne and Dale Edwards of Kerman; and brothers, Elton Lembke and wife Phyllis of Griswold, Iowa and Marion Lembke and wife Charlene of Atlantic, Iowa.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Edwards in 1975; sister, Thelma Lembke; brother, Dale Lembke; and granddaughter, Michele Edwards.
A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Society, in her behalf.

EDWARDS
Lynn Frazier Edwards
Lynn Frazier Edwards died at Woodland Memorial Hospital Saturday, July 10, 2004, at age 79.
Born July 18, 1924, in Bartlesville, Okla., Mr. Edwards had been a Yolo County resident since 1951. He was the son of the late Asa Ray and Millie (Reardon) Edwards. After completing high school in Yuba City, he went on to get a bachelor's degree in teaching from Chico State College. During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving on a hospital ship as a pharmacist, until his discharge in 1946. Mr. Edwards received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Area Victory Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He returned to Sutter County and then he moved to Woodland 53 years ago. He worked as a probation officer for the county for 35 years and then retired to run his own auctioneering business. He was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion, Woodland Chapter, Post No. 77 for over 43 years, and was one of the original founders of the Yolo County Credit Union.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Wallis) Edwards; daughter Donna Barrus and husband Jerry; and grandchildren, Caleb and Kaydi Barrus, all of Woodland; foster sons, Allen (Gibson) Edwards of Ava, Mo. and Harold Gibson of Arbuckle as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Alda Edwards.
The family requests memorials be directed to American Legion Post No. 77, 523 Bush St., Woodland, 95695, in his behalf.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 15, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. The members of the American Legion will officiate with military honors to follow the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.

Joseph J. Ehnat
Services held for Joseph J. Ehnat
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 23, for Joseph J. Ehnat of Tacoma, Washington, who died there Feb. 20, 1990. Born in Tacoma Oct. 19, 1917, he was 72.
Mr. Ehnat and his wife of 52 years, Bernice, have been frequent visitors to Winters for the past 20 years.
Mr. Ehnat is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Leon Brockwell; sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Lynn Ehnat, Don and Leanne Ehnat, all of Tacoma, and Tom and Elizabeth Ehnat of Winters. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
