Jose O. Elizondo
Jose Otanez Elizondo died Sept. 12, 2001, at Woodland Memorial Hospital. Born in Mexico on May 5, 1931, to Fabian and Angelica Elizondo, he was 70 years old.
Elizondo was a prominent self-employed farm labor contractor, "Jose Elizondo O. Inc., " for 30 years throughout Northern California. He was a resident of Woodland for 41 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josefina of Woodland; sister-in-law Maria Sotomayor; his sons, Fabian Elizondo of Sacramento, Jose Elizondo Jr. and his wife Isabel of Woodland, Francisco Elizondo and his wife Stephanie of Yuba City, Marco Elizondo and his wife Nancy of Fresno, Luis Elizondo and his wife Lisa of Woodland; and his daughter, Rebecca Elizondo-Marquez and her husband Daniel of Sacramento.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara Elizondo of Fresno, Alexis Scheuplein of Sacramento, Amber Elizondo-Novoa and her husband Michael, and Rudy Elizondo, Brittany Elizondo, Samuel Marquez, Justin Rodriguez and Brandon Rodriguez, all of Woodland. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Bianca Novoa and Sergio Ayala of Woodland.
Friends are invited to attend the vigil service Monday at 9:30 a.m., with the funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St. in Woodland. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 318 Court St. in Woodland.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
ELKINTON
David Allen Elkinton
David Allen Elkinton died Nov. 6, 2004, at Cottonwood Healthcare in Woodland. He was 56.
Friends are invited to a celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Saturday at 307 Portsmouth Ave. in Vacaville. Private interment services will be at San Joaquin National Cemetery.
Born in Richmond on April 7, 1948, to Robert and Billie Elkinton, he grew up in Napa County and attended local schools prior to his enlistment into the U.S. Army.
A resident of Vacaville, he lived in Solano County for the past 18 years and was employed as a tree trimmer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his brother Michael in 1968, his father Robert in 1995 and his mother Billie in 1998.
He is survived by his daughters, Janeen Elkinton of Sacramento, Monika and Winter Elkinton of Sevierville, Tenn.; son, David Elkinton of Napa; sisters, Stella Firmanik of Vacaville and Sandra Dobbs of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a brother, Joe Madrigal of Sacramento.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland.
ELLASCES
Johnny Ellasces
Johnny Ellasces died at Alderson Convalescent Home, Woodland Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at age 81.
Mr. Ellasces was born March 19, 1923 in Vacaville and had been a Yolo County resident for 10 years. He was a graduate Vacaville High School in 1941. He was employed by the Basic Vegetable Plant and was a Teamsters business agent. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge.
Survivors include Mr. Ellasces' son, Frank Keith Ellasces of Esparto; his sisters, Janie Garcia, Annie Silva and Mary Castano, all of Vacaville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jeannie and his son, John Jr.
Memorials in Mr. Ellasces' name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Ellasces, no services are scheduled. Inurnment will be private. Sierra View Funeral Chapel and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
ELLIOTT
Dena "Dee" Evelyn Elliott
Dena "Dee" Evelyn Elliott died in Woodland Monday, Dec. 19, 2006 at age 93.
Mrs. Elliott was born Feb. 18, 1912 in Wenatchee, Wash. She had been a Yolo Country resident for 55 years. She was a restaurant owner.
Survivors include Mrs. Elliott's husband of 16 1/2 years, William W. Elliott; her daughter, Darlene Joyce Airons; her stepdaughter, Beth A. Lorenzo and her husband Hector; her stepsons, Charles B. Elliott and Tom Elliott; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ELLIOTT
Larry Dennis Elliott
Larry Dennis Elliott died at the Veterans Administration medical facility in San Francisco (Ft. Miley) on Feb. 13, 2005, due to complications from leukemia. He was 63 years old.
Born in Boulder, Colo., on July 10, 1941, to Marion and Lura (Skinner) Elliot, he served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
After the service, he worked as a bartender in Las Vegas, Nev.
His family said he enjoyed his Triumph TR-6 sports car and indulging in good food and wine.
He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Elliott of San Francisco; and his brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Arlene Elliott of Las Vegas, Nev.
He is further survived by his niece, Christi Elliott; his aunts and uncles, Maynard Skinner and Cristy Jenson, Jo Skinner, and Durland and Virginia Skinner; and numerous cousins.
A remembrance service was held March 10. He will be interred at the Veterans Home Cemetery.
ELLIS
Alvin Glen Ellis (1st of 2 obits.)
Former Woodland resident Al Ellis died Thursday, January 8, 2004 after a brief illness. He was 65.
Al was retired from truck driving and living in Clovis with his wife of 43 years, Ellen.
He grew up in the central San Joaquin Valley town of Lindsay, graduating in 1958. He moved to Woodland in 1972 and worked at Crown Pipe, Best Pipe and Fleetwood Mobile Homes. Al was a former president of the Woodland Babe Ruth League and a longtime member of the governing board during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Al enjoyed golfing, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife Ellen Ellis of Clovis; his son, John Ellis, and daughter-in-law, Erin Kennedy, both of Clovis; his grandchildren, Orion and Anya Ellis; his mother, Lera Maris Ellis, and his sister, Nancy Butler, both of Porterville; and a niece and nephew.
Services are private. Remembrances for Al Ellis can be made to the American Lung Association.

ELLIS
Charles J. Ellis
Charles J. Ellis died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital in Woodland on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at age 88.
Mr. Ellis was born in Napoleon, Ohio on May 17, 1917. He had been a resident of Yolo County for 15 years. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy honorably on troop and supply ships in the Atlantic Theater.
Survivors include Mr. Ellis' wife, Katherine Jean Kelley; his sons, Charles J. Ellis and his wife Ruth of Dubuque, Iowa, Clarke J. Ellis and his wife Charlotte of Ottawa, Ohio; his stepdaughter, Cheryl Cooper Plant and her husband Joseph of Edinberg, Pa.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his wife Katherine's, family of four children; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Shreves Ellis; his second wife, Ruth Cooper Ellis; his parents, Charles W. and Mary Elizabeth Ellis; six sisters; and one brother.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Ellis' name be directed to Hospice of Yolo County, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: A memorial for Mr. Ellis will be scheduled at a later date. The Nautilus Society of Northern California is assisting the family with arrangements.
