Doris May Oremus
Doris May Oremus went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2006. Born on August 3, 1914 in Winters to Herbert and Emma Conner, Doris was raised in Winters with her siblings, Bertha, Selma and Herbert Conner, Jr. (Buzz). She graduated from Winters High School with the class of 1932. She received her Bachelors degree at UC Berkeley and graduated from Yale University as a R.N. Her nursing career sent her to Southern California, however she got a job as a nurse on a ship so she could see the world. It was on board ship that she met her husband of 53 years, Mike Oremus. Together they ended up with three children, David, Joe and Frances, all while living in other countries, including India, Singapore and Japan. Finally ending up in Long Beach, CA in 1971, Doris became a welfare nurse and a school nurse at Nightingale where she worked until she was 75. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; sister, Bertha and brother, Buzz. She is survived by her sister, Selma, and all of her children and grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, March 20 at 1 p.m. in Bethany Church in Long Beach. Burial was in the family plot in Winters Cemetery.
O'ROURKE
Joseph Patrick O'Rourke
Joseph Patrick O'Rourke died Oct. 30, 2004, at Covell Gardens in Davis. He was 92.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass Friday at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 200 W. 14th St. in Davis. Burial will be held at the Davis Cemetery.
Born Nov. 10, 1911, in San Francisco, he was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for more than 43 years in a management capacity at National Linen Service, retiring in 1975 as the plant manager in Sacramento.
He was a resident of Davis for the past 31 years where he was a volunteer at the Davis Senior Center. As a member of the Davis Senior Citizens Inc., he spent nine years as the finance manager and treasurer. He also served three terms on the Senior Citizens Commission and in 1992 was named the Davis Senior Citizen of the Year.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret O'Rourke, who died in November 2000.
He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Elliot and her husband Tom of Oregon; his son, Ron O'Rourke and his wife Kathy of Fresno; and his grandchildren, Joe Elliot and his wife Margie, Tommy Elliot, Rob O'Rourke and his wife Monica, Rick O'Rourke and his wife Melanie, Mike O'Rourke and his wife Maria, and John O'Rourke and his wife Michelle.
He is further survived by 19 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Remembrances may be made in his name to the Davis Senior Center or to St. James Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
OROURKE
Margaret M. O'Rourke
Margaret Marie O'Rourke died Nov. 14, 2000, at Sierra Health Care in Davis. Born Nov. 9, 1912, in San Francisco, she was 88 years old.
She devoted much of her time to volunteer organizations such as Cub Scouts, and church and school activities. Her greatest pleasure was serving as a hospital volunteer in San Francisco, Carmichael and at Sutter Davis Hospital until she was unable to continue due to her health. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known to all of them as "the cookie maker." She had been a resident of Davis for the past 27 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph P. O'Rourke of Davis; her son, Ronald O'Rourke and wife Kathi of Fresno; daughter, Shirley Elliot and husband Tom of Davis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Elliott and wife Marjorie of Seattle; Tommy Elliott and wife Kathryn of Sacramento; Robert O'Rourke and wife Monica of Fresno; Richard O'Rourke and wife Melanie of San Francisco; Michael O'Rourke and wife Maria of Indianapolis; and John O'Rourke and wife Michelle of Fresno. She also leaves 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 200 W. 14th St. Burial will be private. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Davis Senior Center, 546 A St., Davis, CA 95616. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
OROZCO-RUIZ
Tonatiœh Orozco-Ruiz
Tonatiœh Orozco-Ruiz died at birth in Davis Friday, Oct. 7, 2005.
Survivors include Tonatiœh’s parents, Mar'a D. Orozco and Serg'o Ruiz, both of Woodland; his grandparents, Estela and Fidel Orozco of Cloverdale and Guadalupe and Rafael Ruiz of Woodland; his great-grandparents, Mar'a and Rafael Sanchez of Cloverdale, Cruz Figueroa and David Gudio of Cotija, Michocan, Mexico; his aunts and uncles, Marciela Orzoco of Cloverdale, Guadalupe and Enrique Lepe of Madison, Rafael and Alejandra Ruiz, Rosario and Chris Dark and Teresa Ruiz, all of Woodland; numerous aunts and uncles at Beamer Park Elementary School; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Mar'a Elena Ruiz.
The family requests memorials in Tonatiœh’s name be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.

Josephine (Walkanee) Lennie Graham Orr
Josephine (Walkanee) Lennie Graham Orr died of cancer in Napa Monday, March 25, 2002, at age 45.
Born Sept. 17, 1956, in Portland, Ore., Ms. Orr worked with special needs adults doing therapy and as a job training specialist. She was a resident of Napa for five years.
Ms. Orr is survived by her son, Ronald J. Benner; grandchildren, Brandon Elijah Benner.
She is also survived by her sisters, Kay Prettyman, Barbara Lombard of Portland Oregon, Franchone and Orville Gray, Elizabeth Graham Gray and Lenora Graham, all of Woodland; brothers, Bill Moore, Melvin Moore, Merle and Dorothy Graham in Portland Oregon, Theodore A. Graham and William R. Graham of Texarkana, Texas; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, all of Woodland.
Ms. Orr was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard M. Graham and Katherine Roth Moore Graham; sisters, Jayne N. Graham, Eda R. M. Graham Cicerchi, DeVoe, Nelson Peters, and Fredalyn Norma Graham.
A cremation memorial service is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7, near Coos Bay, Oregon.

Nancy Karen Youngmark Orr
Nancy Karen Youngmark Orr died at her home in Woodland, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at age 62.
Mrs. Orr was born in Woodland Dec. 1, 1942 and was a life-long Yolo County resident. She graduated from Pierce High School in Arbuckle and attended Chico State College. She was the owner/president of Youngmark Nursery Inc. in Woodland.
Survivors include her husband, Richard D. Orr of Woodland; her daughter, Michelle Westergaard of Davis; her son, Steve Santens of Woodland; her grandchildren, Cody, Melissa and Brett Westergaard of Davis, Jessica Hornbuckle, Justin Hornbuckle and Bready Santens all of Woodland; her stepmother, Carol Youngmark of Santa Cruz; her sister, Janet Hawk of Woodland and her cousin, Bob Youngmark of Woodland. She was preceded in death by her mother, Verne Saxon and her father, George Youngmark.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Orr's name be directed to Hospice of Yolo County, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617.
Services: A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Interment will follow the service at Monument Hill Memorial Park. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
ORSBORN
Ruth Atkins Orsborn
Ruth Atkins Orsborn died July 22, 2005, at her Davis home. She was 83.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, in San Francisco, in 1938 she graduated from La Loma Feliz High School in Santa Barbara. She attended Pomona College, where she studied a pre-veterinary curriculum, before enrolling at Colorado State. In 1944 she received her doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Later, after serving several years in her field, she and her husband opened their own practice in Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. She practiced laboratory animal medicine research for the U.S. Army for six years before retiring.
She was a life member of the American Veterinary Association, as well as an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Woodland.
She was preceded in death by her brother Athurn Atkins and two sisters, Mary Clayton and Elizabeth Bradley.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Orsborn of Davis; daughter Susan Chacon and her husband Frank of Davis; son Michael Orsborn of Richmond; sisters, Dorothy Hudson of Redwood Valley and Susan de Fremery of Santa Rosa; twin sister Anne Robinson of Redwood City; and granddaughter Jaden Brandenburg of Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA 95617.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at a later date.
