David Ortiz-Lucatero
David Ortiz-Lucatero, 80, passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at his residence in Winters. He was born in Mexico on March 11, 1925 to David Ortiz and Eloisa Lucatero-Ortiz. He marriage Senorina Farias and together they are the parents of 10 children. A Rosary was held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005 at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Winters. Mr. Ortiz-Lucatero was then be returned to his homeland in Mexico, where a funeral mass and interment will take place.
OSBORN
Joshua Bruce Osborn
Joshua Bruce Osborn died in Sutter West Hospital, Davis Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at eight-months-old.
Born May 29, 2002, in Coos Bay, Ore., Joshua had been a Yolo County resident for six months.
Survivors include his father, Eric Osborn; mother, Amy (Watson) Osborn; brothers, James, Jeremy and Jason, all of Woodland; grandparents, Russ and Nancy Osborn, Merrily Watson of Woodland and Bruce and Connie Watson of Oregon; aunts and uncles Mike Osborn of San Mateo, Beth and Kevin Roberts of Somerset, Susan and Abdenour Osborn-Iratene of Sacramento, Brett and Christy Watson of Millville and Anne Osborn-Woolsey of Woodland; and cousins, Alese, Jaron, Annika, Bryan, Patrik, Mikaela, Connor, Carson and Caleigh.
The family requests memorials be directed in care of Woodland Bible Church, 433 California St., Woodland 95695.
Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: Memorial service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Woodland Bible Church.
OSBORNE
Eva Margaret (Morelli) Osborne
Eva Margaret (Morelli) Osborne died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Woodland on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at age 95.
Born Dec. 28, 1907, a native of Woodland, Mrs. Osborne had been a lifelong resident of Woodland. She attended Holy Rosary Academy. She was a member of Young Ladies Institute, and Italian Catholic Federation. She worked at Family-Owned Morelli's Italian Restaurant and boarding house on Main Street, a housewife then as an election Clerk in Yolo County.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond Osborne and wife Jane of Knights Landing, Robert Osborne of Fort Bragg; grandchildren, David Osborne of Marysville, Wash., Sean Osborne of Roseville, Michele Osborne of Santa Barbara, Steven Osborne of Fort Bragg, and Ryan Osborne of Windsor; great-grandchildren Erin and Katie Osborne of Livermore, Lucy Branch of Santa Barbara, Kaitlyn and Ashley Osborne of Windsor and Laura Osborne of Marysville, Wash., twin sister Clara Landucci of Woodland; and sisters, Mary Hughes of Sacramento and Erma Ricci of Woodland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Osborne in 1987, grandson, Michael Osborne; brothers, Gino Morelli and Ralph Morelli and sister Lena Chamberlin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A visitation is scheduled at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Kraft Bros. Chapel, with a rosary. A funeral Mass is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Woodland, with Father John Boll officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery immediately following the service.
OSIER
Jesse Ferrel Osier
Jesse F. Osier, D.D.S. died in Davis Monday, Feb. 7, 2005 at age 71.
Dr. Osier was born July 28, 1933 in Fresno to the late Wilma and Jesse Osier. He had been a Yolo County resident for 31 years. In 1956, he received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Idaho, and after graduation worked at the China Lake U.S. Naval Ordnance Test Station in the Mojave Desert as head of the Propulsion Systems Division. In 1958 his team successfully launched the United States' first satellite. He later graduated in 1973 from the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry. In 1974 he and a dental classmate opened a dental clinic in Davis. He was instrumental in the development of dental implants. He wrote technical papers, lectured and helped educate local dentists in implant's viability as replacements for natural teeth. He was a member of the Sacramento District Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the American Board of Oral Implantology, and was a Diplomate of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Survivors include Dr. Osier's wife, Rena, also of Davis; his daughter, Cindy Spitzer of San Jose; his sons, Carl and Danny Osier of Davis, Kenny Osier of Glenwood Springs, Colo., Joe Osier of Placerville, John Osier of Rio Linda, and Ted Osier of San Jose; his ex-wife, Sally Osier, of Lodi; his grandchildren, Brian and Kirsten Spitzer, Matthew, William, Shawn, Michelle, Marty and Ashley Osier; his sister, Barbara Martin of Oregon City, Ore. and his mother-in-law, Rosa Pichler of Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph.

Services: A memorial service celebrating Dr. Osier's life is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Road, Davis.
OSTERGAR
Victor Ostergar
Victor Ostergar died in Sacramento Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at age 51.
Born Feb. 12, 1952, in Dos Palos, Ca., Mr. Ostergar attended schools in Dos Palos and West Sacramento. His life and personality will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his mother, Matilda Ostergar; brother, Peter Ostergar and wife Terrie; children, Victoria Ostergar of Sacramento, Paul Ostergar, Shelly Marquez and Gabriel Marquez, all of Woodland; grandchildren, Kristina, Alexis, Joseph and Oksana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Ostergar Sr.; and wife, Debbie Maurer.
The family requests memorials be directed to Yolo Federal Credit Union Victor Ostergar Memorial Fund Account No. 53975. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Services of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service will be held at a later date.
OSTLIND
Jean Louise (Goodsheller) Ostlind
Jean Ostlind died at her Woodland home on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at the age of 84. She was born on Sept. 9, 1920, in McPherson, Kan., to John Van and Nelly Evelyn (Jones) Goodsheller.
Mrs. Ostlind had been a resident of Yolo County for 41 years and was a homemaker. She joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served during World War II, working in an administrative capacity until leaving the service in 1946. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving Mrs. Ostlind are her sons, Douglas Alan Ostlind and his wife Vadine, of Woodland, Dennis Lee Ostlind of Manhatten, Kan.; granddaughters, Sidney Elizabeth Ostlind of Manhatten, Kan., Donna Vadine Ostlind and Chelle Jean Ostlind, all of Woodland. Other survivors include a sister, Janice McFall and her husband, Max of Chuluota, Fla., She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Lowell, who died in July 2002; son, Lowell Wayne Ostlind, who died in 1973; and brothers, George Jack Goodsheller, who died in 2003, and Jim Wayne Goodsheller, who died in 1954.
Services: No visitation is scheduled. A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. Pastor John Evertson of West Valley Baptist Church will be officiating. Donations in the memory of Mrs. Ostlind may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1765 Challenge Way, Sacramento, 95815, or to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
OSTLIND
Lowell Oliver Ostlind
Lowell Oliver Ostlind died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, at age 91.
Mr. Ostlind, known as "Grandpa Swede" by his family and loved ones, was born Nov. 10, 1910, in McPherson, Kansas, to parents Dan and Mabel (Olson) Ostlind. Being the youngest child, and only boy in the family of five children, he was fascinated by all things mechanical.
After the invasion of Hawaii by the Japanese, Mr. Ostlind enlisted in the US Army Air Corps, and was assigned to the 28th Fighter Squadron. He continued his education during his military career, earning a rating as an airframe and powerplant mechanic.
As an aircraft armorer, he qualified for the Marksmanship and Good Conduct Medals. After obtaining the rank of technical sergeant, he left the service at the end of World War II, and traveled the world working for oil and petroleum exploration and drilling companies where he was a mechanical engineer.
Mr. Ostlind worked in such diverse places such as Maricabo, Venezuela and retired at age 81.
A resident of Woodland for 14 years, he was an avid fan and supporter of the American Legion Baseball Association and the Babe Ruth League at Clark Field. He also loved to target shoot and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also active in both the Woodland BPOE Lodge 1299 and the American Legion Post in Woodland.
Mr. Ostlind is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Louise (Goodsheller) Ostlind; sons, Douglas Alan Ostlind and wife Vadine, and Dennis Ostlind, all of Woodland.
He is also survived by granddaughters, Sidney Elizabeth Ostlind, Donna Vadine Ostlind and Chelle Jean Ostlind, all of Woodland.
Mr. Ostlind was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Mabel (Olson) Ostlind; sisters, Geneva, Maxine, Isabelle and Virginia, and his son, Lowell Wayne Ostlind who died in 1972.
No visitation is scheduled.
A graveside service is scheduled 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
