William "Will" Albert English
William "Will" Albert English passed away on December 22, 2002 in Kaiser Hospital North in Sacramento, after a battle with Leukemia. He was 11 years old. He lived his entire life in Vacaville. Will was a fifth grader attending Elmira Elementary School where he was an honor student. He also had a love and passion for skateboarding, BMX biking and had a gift as an artist, having won several awards.
He is survived by his father, Bill English of Vacaville; his mother; Carol English of Winters; half brother, Ryan Edwards of Oakland; half sisters, Christine Edwards of Oakland and Christie Hugo of Benecia; nephew Austin Hugo of Benecia; step-sisters Monica Dominguez, Rosa Torres, Ashley Gray and Lauren Gray; two step-brothers Gilbert Dominguez and Louis Gray, V., both of Vacaville; maternal grandparents Janet and Al Crum of Winters and paternal grandmother Virginia English of Boise, Idaho.
The family invited friends for a visitation on Thursday, Dec. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Nadeau Family Funeral Home. A graveside service was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Children's Leukemia Society, 3105 Fite Circle, Sacramento, CA 95814.
ENTEEN
Elaine Enteen
Elaine Enteen died peacefully at her Davis home on April 18, 2006, surrounded by her family. Born Aug. 19, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was 76 years old.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Congregation Bet Haverim, 1715 Anderson Road, followed by a burial service at the Davis Cemetery. A reception for friends and family will take place at 2714 Bonnard St. in Davis.
In New York, she created and maintained a thriving business for 40 years. Upon moving to Davis just two years ago, she enjoyed mah-jongg and tennis, and spending time with her grandchildren. She volunteered in the Read and Relax program at Birch Lane Elementary School.
She is survived by two daughters, Michele Browne and her husband Desmond of Davis, and Caren Renee Enteen and her partner Gail Grassi of Oakland; two sisters, Marjorie Newman of Washington, D.C., and Bernice Frechman of Chatsworth; two grandchildren, Dylan and Jamie Browne of Davis; and numerous other family members.
Donations in her memory may be directed to Yolo Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
EPLING
Raymond Epling
Raymond Epling died at his home May 21, 2004. He was 83 years old.
A longtime resident of Winters, he was born in Belcher, Ky., on Sept. 24, 1920, to Isaac Jacob and Dulcie Ann Epling. After graduating from Elkhorn City High School and attending Pikeville Junior College, he taught elementary school before joining the U.S. Army.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 through 1947, which included service in the South Pacific during World War II. He continued his military service in the Air Force from 1947 to 1963. Upon retirement, he came to Winters and taught junior high school until his retirement in 1987.
After retiring from teaching, he engaged himself in genealogical research and compiled an account of his life's experiences. He was active in team athletics in high school, college and the military. His hobbies and interests included the study of history, the study of the Bible and genealogical research.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 17 siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie E. Epling; his sister, Loyale Holmes; four sons, Michael and his wife Julie, David and his wife Susan, Barry and his wife Christy and Gerald and his wife Valeria; and daughter, Joyce and Dimitri Cherikov.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Nancy Epling, Daniel Epling, Brita Epling, Ilsa Epling, Jeremy Epling, Jennifer Elizabeth Epling and Leeza Cherikov.
A memorial service will begin at noon Sunday at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 205 Russell St. in Winters. Friends and acquaintances are encouraged to attend.
ERMOLOFF
Lydia Ermoloff
Lydia Ermoloff died in Woodland Skilled Nursing Facility Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at age 91.
Born Aug. 1, 1912, in Moscow, Russia, Ms. Ermoloff had been a Yolo County resident for more than 20 years.
Ms. Ermoloff has no known survivors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexis Ermoloff, in 1976.
Services: Inurnment is scheduled at Vista Memorial Garden in Miami, Fla. Arrangements are under the direction of North Sacramento Funeral Home.
EROS
Steven P. Eros
Steven P. Eros of Davis died at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 at age 74.
Mr. Eros was born Sept. 28, 1931 in Saskatchewan, Canada. He had been a Yolo County resident for 18 years. He served two years in the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He worked as a prosthetic engineer for 18 years and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church of Davis.
Survivors include Mr. Eros' wife of 46 years, Patricia of Davis; his daughter, Barbara Reynolds and her husband Chris of Woodland; his son, Steven Jr. of Woodland; his grandchildren, Shawn and Jeff of Woodland; his sisters, Violet Butlar of San Luis Obispo and Margaret Gale and her husband John of San Jose; and his brothers, William Eros and his wife Constance of Palm Desert and Sandy Eros and his wife Ava of Redwood City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Wilma Eros; his niece, Rennee Marin; and his great-niece, Stephanie Eros.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St., Davis. His cremains will be scattered near Lake Tahoe. Sierra View Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Carmichael is assisting the family with arrangements.
ERRECA
Etiennete "Tienette" Noeline Erreca
Tinette Erreca passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Woodland Memorial Hospital. She was 84 years old.
Mrs. Erreca was born on Dec. 18, 1917 to Pio and Francis Gortari in Patterson. She was the youngest of three children and grew up on her family?s farm, where she lived until she marriage Michel ?Mike? Erreca in 1937. The couple soon moved to the Esparto area, where they resided with their three daughters until 1957. In 1970 Mr. and Mrs. Erreca returned to Yolo County, and made their home in Winters. She lived there until the last few months, when declining mobility caused her to move to Sierra Convalescent Home in Davis.
Mrs. Erreca was a homemaker all of her adult life. After raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren, she provided day care in her home to numerous children for several years. She was a true "grandma" to all of them, and many of the children she cared for continued to visit her up until her death. She truly loved the little children and always looked forward to seeing her natural and "adopted" grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Erreca was a member of St. Anthony?s Parish, the Altar Society and the Winters Fortnightly Club. A genuinely caring person, she always had a smile for all she met. She was particularly devoted to her family and was always willing to help in any way possible. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Erreca was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mike Erreca; brother Gordon Gortari, sister Lillian Fisher, and daughter Grace Holeman.
She is survived by her daughter Noreen Bottomley and husband Les of Greenbrae and her daughter Shirlee Griffin Hailey and husband Bill of Winters. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kelley Bottomley, Les Bottomley, Denise Bottomley, Steven Bottomley, Mathew Bottomley, George Griffin, Sheree Griffin Jamieson, Valerie Rasmussen and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held for Mrs. Erreca on Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony?s Church in Winters, with interment following at the Winters Cemetery. McNary?s chapel handled the arrangements.

ESPARZA
Elvira (Hortencia Solis Silva) Esparza
Elvira (Hortencia Solis Silva) Esparza died at her home in Sacramento on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at age 73.
Mrs. Esparza was born May 30, 1932 in Sacramento. Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Yanez, Cecilia Silva-Martin, Graciela Alvarado, Martina Major and Cynthia Mirelez; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister Mary Moreno; and her brother Cruz Solis.
Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento. Harry A. Nauman & Son Funeral Home in Sacramento is assisting the family with arrangements.
