David M. Evans
David M. Evans died in Woodland Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at age 84.
Born June 26, 1917, a native of Woodland, Mr. Evans was a longtime resident of West Sacramento. He was a resident of Woodland in time of his death. He was a past Master Yolo Lodge No. 1 FNAM.
Mr. Evans is survived by his children, Carol Godwin, Earl and Sharon Evans; grandchildren, Joe Godwin, Jeannie Bullard, Kristan Gusman, Vicky Massengale, Kimberly Surette, David Godwin, Dan Godwin and Aaron Godwin; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and other family.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today Wednesday, Jan. 16, at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule St., West Sacramento.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, also at River Cities Funeral Chapel.
Private inurnment will be at Woodland Cemetery.

EVANS
Joseph Michael Evans
Joseph Michael Evans died in Woodland Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at age 47.
Born July 3, 1956, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Mr. Evans had been a Yolo County resident for 23 years. He worked for Cache Creek as security guard.
Survivors include his sisters, Chloie Fraley of Vallejo, and Laurie Evans of Napa; brother, Blaine Evans Jr. of Davis; nieces, Theresa Maricle and Jackie Cummisky, both of Willows, and Luci Towner of Napa.
Arrangements are under the direction of North Sacramento Funeral Home.
Services: Burial will be at Willows Cemetery.
EVANS
Leona (Lee) Elaine Hall Evans
Leona (Lee) Elaine Hall Evans died after a lengthy illness at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at age 84.
Mrs. Evans was born May 30, 1918, in Bloomington, Indiana to Lowell and Ada Hall. She was the second youngest of 10 children.
Mrs. Evans was raised in Olney, Ill. where she attended school through high school graduation.
She came to California in December, 1942. She met her husband Edward Spaulding Evans, on New Years Eve, 1943. They were marriage Oct., 25, 1945 at Fort Lewis, Washington. Mr. Evans was a career army officer who served many posts.
As a military wife, Mrs. Evans accompanied her husband to various posts throughout the United States and a total of eight years in Germany.
During Mr. Evan's second tour of duty in Vietnam, she and her son Jeffrey settled in Woodland in December, 1971, after living three years in Worms and Schweinfurt Germany.
In 1974, Mrs. Evans began a career in real-estate. She was associated with Coldwell Banker-Arnold Real Estate for 13 years. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Yolo Fliers Club, attended St. Johns United Church of Christ and was a member of the Yolo County Board of Realtors.
According to her family, she enjoyed traveling and entertaining.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward Spaulding Evans, of Woodland; son, Edward Jeffrey Evans and wife Margaret of Beaufort, S.C.; granddaughter, Amelia Hall Evans, also of Beaufort; sister Audrey Knoll of Greenville, S.C.; brother-in-law, J. Robert Clarkson of Reno, Nevada; brother-in law, James M. Spaulding and family of Whittier, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled at St. Johns United Church of Christ at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8.

EVANS
Nellie B. Evans
Passed away in the Woodland Memorial Hospital Aug. 30, 2004 at the age of 79. She was born in Detroit, Mich. Sept. 16, 1925 to the late Aaron and Mary B. Minley.
Mrs. Evans was a resident of Yolo County for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker all of her adult life and worked part-time at the Hacienda Convalescent Hospital after her children were grown. Nellie loved to cook and can fruits and vegetables.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Watts of Sacramento, Diane Gaunt of Dunnigan, Karen Davis and Ruthann Evans, both of Woodland, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Arrealous Evans Feb. 16, 2004.
Visitation will be held at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., on Friday, September 3, 2004 from 9 to 10 a.m. Following the visitation a graveside service will be held at the Woodland Cemetery at 11 a.m.

EVELAND
Alta Marie Eveland
Alta Marie Eveland died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at Cottonwood Healthcare in Woodland. She was 95 years of age.
Mrs. Eveland was born on Aug. 16, 1906 in Mitchell, Nebraska to Elvert and Emma (Merkle) Ballew. Mrs. Eveland was a resident of Woodland since 1945.
Mrs. Eveland was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Eveland. Mrs. Eveland is survived by her daughters, Bernadine Fornesi of San Bruno, Willadean Bagdasarian of Sacramento, stepson, Bob and his wife Terri Eveland of Dunsmuir and step daughter Marlene Stout of Davis. Mrs. Eveland is also survived by six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
According to her family, Alta, also known as "Molly, " was a wonderful cook and loved having her family around her. Mrs. Eveland was known for her family get togethers and gatherings.
Friends are invited to attend the grave side service scheduled to be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Monument Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA or charity of the donor's choice. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
EVELAND
Lloyd Merrill Eveland
A well known Yolo County farmer died on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Courtyard Healthcare in Davis at the age of 90. Mr. Eveland was born Aug. 2, 1912 in Watsonville to Chester and Ada Eveland.
Mr. Eveland graduated from Princeton High School. He was a graduate of University of California, Berkeley and continued his graduate studies in Agriculture at UC Davis. Mr. Eveland was very active in the agriculture community serving on and presiding over many Boards and Commissions including, President Council of California Growers, Board Member, Agriculture Education Foundation, Director California Beet Growers Association, Director and Incorporator of Cal-Can, President California Growers Association and Yolo Growers Association. He served as president of the Yolo County Horsemen's Association and Sutter Lawn Tennis Club. He was a lifetime member of Woodland Elks Lodge B.P.O.E No. 1299. After retiring Mr. Eveland and his wife Ilene spent time at their home in Carmel as well as Woodland. They traveled extensively enjoying their favorite past time of tennis and visiting friends throughout the world. During the course of his life Mr. Eveland won many Tennis Championships. Mr. Eveland was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Ilene and his brothers, Harvey Eveland and Warren Eveland as well as nephew John Pflug.
Survivors include his sister, Martha Pflug of Alamagordo, N.M. as well as nephews, Robert Eveland and wife Terri of Dunsmuir and J.D. Eveland of California. Nieces, Marlene Stout and her husband Steve of Davis and Ruth Ann Eveland of Maine and Linda Pflug of Alamagordo, N.M.
A graveside service will be held at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland, Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 9:30 a.m.
The family would prefer memorial contributions be made to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1015, Davis 95617.

EVERT
Eugene "Geno" Evert
Eugene "Geno" Evert of Davis died July 24, 2005, in Roseville. He was 76 years old.
A memorial service begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, 1701 Russell Blvd. in Davis.
Born April 20, 1929, in Canton, Ill., he was in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948, and was awarded the Victory Medal.
He was employed as a plant manager with Kimberly-Clark Corp., spending 27 years on the job before retiring in 1991.
He had many hobbies, including woodworking, golf, travel, cars and fixing things. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie A. Evert.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Evert of Davis; his children, Debra France and her husband Richard Sanderson of Sacramento; Elanor Gray of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Martin Evert of Sacramento; Marcia Gillingham and her husband Dale of Orcas Island, Wash.; Jeffery Evert of San Francisco; Joseph Evert and his wife Julie of Bozeman, Mont.; Emily Evert Smith and her husband Steve of Sacramento; daughter-in-law Rhonda Mayfield of Sacramento; and his stepchildren, Ron Dwyer-Voss and his wife Sue of Sacramento, and Susan Voss-Rothmeier and her husband Kris of Portland, Ore.
He is further survived by his grandchildren, Justin Siebenthal of Walnut Creek; Chris Gray and his wife Jennifer of Spring Hill, Kan.; Lisa Gray of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Eric, Jenifer, Alison and Sara Beth Evert of Sacramento; Megan Gillingham of Orcas Island, Wash.; Erika, Zack, Amanda and Holly Evert of Bozeman, Mont.; Noah and Sierra Dwyer-Voss of Sacramento; and Henry Voss-Rothmeier of Portland, Ore.; great-grandchildren Monique Gray and Isiah Hudson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Skyler Gray of Spring Hill, Kan.; and his brothers, William "Corky" Evert of Lebanon, Tenn.; and George Evert of Addison, Ill.
