Evelyn E. "Evie" Deising Hall
Evelyn E. "Evie" Deising Hall died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Woodland at age 94.
Mrs. Hall was born Dec. 12, 1911 in Guadalupe, Calif. She had been a Yolo County resident for one year and a Sacramento resident for 50 years. She graduated high school in 1930 and then began her 38-year career as a bookkeeper.
Survivors include Mrs. Hall's daughter, Dolores Cunningham and her husband Bruce of Woodland; her son, David Hall and his wife Maggie of Juneau, Alaska; her grandchildren, Wayne Hall of Wasilla, Alaska, Shawneese Heath of Yuba City, Michelle Hall of Cincinnati and Sharon Cunningham of Sacramento; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Norma George of Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Emery Hall.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Hall's name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617; KVIE Channel 6 PBS; or St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 2140 Mission Ave., Carmichael.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 24 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 2140 Mission Ave., Carmichael. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
HALL
Michael Victor Hall
Michael Victor Hall of Vacaville died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at age 41.
Mr. Hall was born June 12, 1964 in Woodland. He worked as a parts manager for 20 years.
Survivors include Mr. Hall's wife of 10 1/2 years, Michelle Hall of Vacaville; his son, Kyle Hall of Vacaville; his parents, Victor and Ingrid Hall of Oakland, Ore.; his sister, Ursula Edginton of Pope Valley; his brother, Stephen Hall of Woodland; and his grandmother, Mamie of New Castle.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Hall, private family services will be scheduled for a later date. McCune Garden Chapel Funeral Directors of Vacaville is assisting the family with arrangements.
MARTIN
Judith Ellen Martin
Memorial services for Judith Ellen Martin, 62, of Conroe, Texas, will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Cashner Colonial Chapel, in Conroe, Texas.
She was born September 8, 1941, in Riverside and died March 24, 2004, in Conroe, Texas. She and her husband, Paul Martin, were residents of Davis from 1970 to 1994, where was active in school programs through their daughter, Stacey. She also worked at Davisville Travel for several years.
She is survived by her husband Paul Martin of Conroe; daughter Stacey McBride and husband Justin of The Woodlands, Texas; mother Adele Frazier of Seal Beach; sister Linda Karraker and husband Doug of Chipley, Fla.; brothers Richard Strohecker and wife Judy of Westminster, and Paul Strohecker and wife Francesca of LaQuinta.
She is also survived by a granddaughter, Kaitlyn McBride, of The Woodlands, Texas; uncle, George Strohecker of Palos Verdes; special friends Paula Maw of Sacramento and Karen Asbury of Tupelo, Miss.; mother-in-law Lucienne Martin of The Woodlands, Texas; nephew Michael Strohecker of Rancho Mirage and numerous other relatives and friends. Her granddaughter referred to her as "The World's Best Grandma."

HALLEY
Robert Kermit Halley
Robert Kermit Halley passed away on July 18, 2000, at his ranch on Halley Road, in Winters, where he was born, May 11, 1921, he was 79 years of age. He was a graduate of Winters High School and farmed almonds and walnuts his whole adult life. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Moose Lodge in Davis.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Orilla Halley of Winters; two sons, Walter Earl Halley and his wife, Sara Sue of Plain City, Ohio, and Thomas K. Halley of Winters; daughter, Roberta Halley Colter of Davis; two brothers, Howard Halley of Auburn and Norman Halley of Winters; grandchildren, Rebecca Halley and William Halley, both of Plain City, Ohio, Loretta Halley of Winters, Angela Caruthers and Robert Davidson, both of Davis; one great-grandson, Robert Halley of Plain City, Ohio; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 23, at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Winters, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 24, at Pioneer Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at the Winters Cemetery.
Donations may be made in his name to the Kaiser Hospice of Solano County, c/o Kaiser Hospital, 2025 Morse Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95825.
Arrangements were under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.
MARTIN
Leon Neal Martin
Leon Neal Martin died March 15, 2006, at Woodland Memorial Hospital. He was 69.
Born June 25, 1936, in Little Rock, Ark., to Lawrence and Myrtice (Dick) Martin, he attended area schools through high school.
At age 17, he entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served 14 years and received an honorable discharge in 1969. In 1971, he joined the U.S. Army and performed telecommunications duties as a sergeant during the Vietnam war. In 1975, he retired as an E-6, after 21 years of military service to his country.
A Yolo County resident for the past 20 years, he worked as a telecommunications specialist for the U.S. government for an additional 18 years after his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna Martin of Woodland; his daughters, Donna Martin of Pleasanton and Catherine Martin of Livermore; and five grandchildren.
Private interment will be at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Pleasanton. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
HALLEY
Thomas K. Halley
Thomas K. Halley passed away on July 8, 2003 on the family farm on Halley Road in Winters. Born on Sept. 25, 1952, he was 51 years old.
He attended Dixon High School where he was active in drama and was the drum major for the high school band. He was an Eagle Scout. His love of flowers and plants led him to be a gifted floral designer for which he won several awards. He was a medic in the USAF in Texas. He attended college where he majored in horticulture. He later worked in the nursery business and had a small nursery on the family farm.
He is survived by his sister Roberta Halley of Davis; brother Walter Halley and his wife Sara of Plain City, Ohio; nieces and nephews Loretta of Woodland, Angela, Robert, Tyler and Miles of Davis, Rebecca and her son Robert of Ohio and William and his wife, Vi, of Ohio. He also leaves behind two uncles, two aunts and numerous cousins.
Friends were invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Miracle Worship Christian Center, 470 East H. Street in Dixon.
Remembrances may be made in his name to the National Aids Foundation.
HALPERN
Solomon H. Halpern
Solomon H. Halpern died March 23, 2005, at University Retirement Community. He was 85 years old.
The funeral was on March 25 at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo. A memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at University Retirement Community, 1515 Shasta Drive in Davis.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind., on April 25, 1919, to Polish immigrant parents Bessie and David Halpern, he spent his childhood in Denver, Colo., at the National Home of Jewish Children.
He received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Denver. He worked in New York City, Denver and San Francisco as a court reporter.
On June 30, 1946, he marriage Bernice Kahn. Together they raised four children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice. He is survived by his children and their families.
