Carlos Garasi
Carlos Garasi died June 25, 2004, after a brief illness. He was 95.
Born Nov. 12, 1908, he came to the United States from the Philippine Islands at the age of 18. He was met by his brother and lifetime companion Harry, who had arrived in the United States five years earlier.
The brothers lived and worked in Yolo County for 65 years, 48 of those years living in Davis.
Carlos will be remembered for his simplicity of life. He was content taking care of his brother, working in his garden and enjoying his fishing trips to the Sacramento River. His kind heart and generosity will be truly missed by all who loved him, especially the Ordonez and Cooper children, his family said.
He is survived by his brother Harry and best friend and caregiver Channon Cooper.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church, 14th and B streets in Davis. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.
GARCES
David Garces
David Garces, 58, a foreman at the Mariani ranch at Roads 89 and 29A, was found dead in his bed October 31, 1990 about 5 p.m.
Fellow workers called the Winters ambulance that day saying that he hadn't been to work for two days and looking in the window, had seen him in bed but he wasn't moving.
The ambulance crew of the Winters Fire Department arrived at the scene and, upon finding him dead, called the Yolo County Coroner. According to the coroner, Garces died as the result of a stroke.

Amelia Garcia
Amelia Garcia of Woodland died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 at age 73.
Mrs. Garcia was born July 25, 1932 in Texas. She had been a Yolo County resident for 41 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include Amelia's husband of 46 years, Julio Garcia Sr.; her daughters, Melva Reyes and her husband Santos, Mary Klutsenbaker and her husband Roger, Norma Garcia and her fiance Ronald and Isabel Wilson and her husband James Sr.; her sons, Julio Garcia Jr., Jaime Garcia and Javier Garcia; her grandchildren, Randy Jr., Amelia, Olivia, Cynthia, Julio III, Megan, Aimee, Camille, Nathan, Naomi, Kimber, Neil, Steven, Corinna, Latisha, Brittany, Justine, Kiyana, James Jr. and Marques; her sisters, Maria Maldonado, Leticia Mu-iz, Rosa Caballero, Becky Romero, Rachel Velazquez; and her brother, Robert Caballero. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Valentina Caballero; her brother, Alfredo Caballero; and her sister, Oralia Caballero.

GARCIA
Dolores A. Garcia
Dolores A. Garcia passed away in Vacaville on May 3, 2001. Born in Redding on January 20, 1913, she was 88 years old.
A 60-year resident of Vacaville, Mrs. Garcia and her husband owned and operated a prune ranch and were in the farming industry for over 60 years. She was a member of the Founders Club and the Spanish Club of Woodland, and enjoyed playing Bingo with friends at the McBride Senior Center. She was also a baseball and football fan.
Mrs. Garcia is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Becky Garcia of Winters, Ed and Shirley Garcia of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Dodie and Harry Stafford of Lodi; six grand children, 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
A visitation was held for Mrs. Garcia at McCune Garden Chapel on Tuesday, May 8. Funeral services were held at McCune Garden Chapel on Wednesday, May 9, at 10 a.m. Burial followed at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Garcia's name to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Region, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, CA, 95402.

Epitacia Rodriguez Garcia
Epitacia Rodriguez Garcia passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of her family and husband, Jose Garcia, of 67 years.
She was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on May 23, 1924 to Benjamin and Serapia Rodriguez. She marriage Jose Garcia In 1939. Her home for the last 50 years has been in Yolo.
She will be remembered for always having an open door and welcoming arms for all. Her extended family, loved as her own, were the many friends of her children, grandchildren, and the families of her friends. Her sense of humor brought constant laughter to all.
She enjoyed large family gatherings, babysitting her grandchildren, dancing, gardening, crocheting, and yearly trips to Mexico. She loved to cook and was well known for her chile and chicken mole. Often her mornings were spent over coffee with neighbors and close friends Theadora, Pachita, and Carmen.
Her life was filled with the laughter and love of her 10 children, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Jose, her children and their spouses: Isabel and Jose Elizondo, Isaac, Chabello and Chelo, Eloy and Nancy, Eddie and Kathy, Freddie and Richelle, Joe and Joann, Joel and Adela and Blanca Garcia. Her grandchildren and their spouses: Tina and Rich Saragoza, Theresa Garcia, Dan and Amy Garcia, Lettie and Jim Lucero, Ed and Nydia Garcia, Mara Garcia, Tania and Ray Cadena, Rick and Janell Garcia, Angie and Dallas Hyde, Tina and Jeff Gottlieb, Tasia and Scott Ellison, Joel Garcia, Ernie and Alba Garcia, Rudy Elizondo, Cori Garcia, Sydney Garcia and Sophia Garcia. Her great-grandchildren: Alec, Anthony, Jordan, Jarrett, Max, Jessica, Alec, Taryn, Nick, Talia, Hayden, Tanner, Brett, Devyn, Abby, Katy, RaeAnna, Erika, James, Tyler, Elijah, and Dina. Daughter-in-law Nancy Brown and extended family Jackie Teeple. Brothers-in-law Manual and Alfred Garcia and families. Numerous sisters, brothers, and their families in Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her son Rudy, her mother, father, and siblings.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 6 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 at Holy Rosary. Interment will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park. A reception will follow the interment at Holy Rosary Parish Hall on Walnut Street. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Nicolasa Garcia
Nicolasa Garcia died at Woodland Memorial Hospital Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005 at age 62.
Mrs. Garcia was born Nov. 27, 1942 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Juan and Ricarda (Gonzalez) Ayala. She had been a Yolo County resident for 33 years. She worked in agriculture as a laborer for 18 years. She was a member of St. James and Holy Rosary Catholic churches.
Survivors include Mrs. Garcia's husband of 43 years, Pedro Garcia of Woodland; her daughters, Maria Luisa Hernandez of Woodland and Delia Espinosa of Davis; her sons, Armando Garcia of Guanajuato, Mexico, Eduardo Garcia of Davis and Pedro Garcia Jr. of Woodland; 10 grandchildren; and her brother, Juan Ayala of Davis. She was preceded in death by her son, Gustavo Garcia and her mother, Ricarda Ayala.
Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday, Aug. 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will be at Cementario de Municipal in Abasolo, Guanajuato, Mexico. Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rosalio G. "Leo" Garcia Jr.
Rosalio G. "Leo" Garcia Jr. died in Palm Desert Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at age 44.
Born Nov. 10, 1958, in Woodland to the late Rosalio G. Garcia Sr. and Audry Lorene McLaughlin, Mr. Garcia was a long time Woodland resident. He was a maintenance welder for Contadina for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Ann Garcia; and sons, Rosaleo G. Garcia III, Benjamin G. Garcia, Joseph H. Garcia, and Izaac R. Garcia.
