Rexford Anderson
Rexford Anderson died at his home in Knights Landing on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at age 90.
Mr. Anderson was born in Marble City, Okla., Nov. 25, 1913 and had been a Yolo County resident for 47 years.
He was a retired machinist from Gorman Manufacturing.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a paratrooper in the 507th Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Oklahoma.
Survivors include Mr. Anderson's wife of 61 years, Eileen, also of Knights Landing, his daughters, Vivian Cline-Shinn and her husband Milton of Woodland, Wanda Laliberte and her husband Burt of North Pole, Alaska, and Janice Sedgley and her husband Lynn of Washington, Utah; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Ruby Coble, Minnie Neisler and Dora Yocum and his brothers Joe and Wendell Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Mr. Anderson's name may be directed to the Robbins Volunteer Fire Department.
Services: A celebration of his life for family and friends is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at 5292 Leiser Road, Knights Landing.
Nautilus Society of Sacramento is assisting the family with arrangements.
FORBES
Richard E. Forbes
Richard 'Dick' E. Forbes died at his home in Davis on May 10, 2000, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Chicago on June 25, 1933, he was 66 years old.
He grew up and attended schools in Chicago and attended college at the University of Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid-1950s and moved to the San Francisco area in 1955.
He was a prior resident of Marin County and Vacaville in Solano County, and had been a resident of Davis for the past six years.
He was a specialist in exploration of natural gas title and leasing and was owner and operator of R.E. Forbes and Associates Natural Gas Exploration. He also did much of the building title and search work for the city of San Francisco and BART development.
He was also a 15-year employee with California Pacific Title Insurance Co. He was a member of the American Association and Northern California Association of Petroleum Professional Landmen.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie E. Carle of San Rafael and Lindsey Forbes of San Francisco; his loving and faithful companion, Isabella Corbin; one grandson, Ryan Carle; a nephew, Aaron Forbes; a niece, Tara McGraw; and a host of friends. He was loved by all and he will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of his life on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 4342 Cowell Blvd. in Davis. Private inurnment has been arranged.

FORD
Helen Lorraine Ford
Helen Lorraine Ford, 99, died peacefully on Jan. 23, 2003. Born in 1903 in Essex, Mo., she migrated to California, first living in Albany; then Sonoma, where she spent most of her life; and lastly Woodland, where she died at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital.
She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Goldenagers of Sonoma, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and many other organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Corbett Reno and Alexander Ford.
She is survived by her children, Earl Reno of San Diego, Kathleen Alexander of Santa Clara and Leroy Ford of Woodland and many grand-, great-grand- and great-great-grandchildren.
Family members plan a celebration of her life on Sunday afternoon at the home of Leroy Ford.
FORDE
Harold I. Forde
Harold Isaacs Forde died Oct. 13, 2001, at his Davis home. Born on Aug. 6, 1914, in Fullerton to Alpha F. Isaacs and Walter A. Forde, he was 87 years old.
He grew up in rural Marysville with his rancher parents. He graduated in 1931 from Marysville High School and continued his education at Yuba College in Marysville, where he met his future bride, Christina A. Arrild.
He transferred to the University of California, attending both Berkeley and Davis and earning a bachelor's and a master's degree in science. He and his wife were marriage Sept. 10, 1938, at First Lutheran Church in Yuba City. They were marriage 61 years until her death in 1999. Following their wedding they made their home in Davis.
Before he could complete his Ph.D. he was called to serve in the U.S. Army in 1944, where he served as an instructor in Nebraska before being called to combat in the northern France campaign as a corporal in Company B, 30th Infantry, in World War II. Three months later he was severely injured and was honorably discharged in 1946, receiving the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Order of the Purple Heart and a World War II Victory Medal.
He was employed by the UCD department of pomology for more than 30 years as a staff research assistant, chiefly as a walnut researcher. He received a distinguished service award from the California Walnut Commission and the Walnut Marketing Board for meritorious service.
He was named for his pioneering of the successful breeding program for walnuts at UC Davis and his many years of outstanding service to the walnut industry. He co-developed many varieties of walnuts, including the Chandler, which has become the mainstay of the California walnut industry and accounts for more than half of all nursery sales.
Forde was a lifelong Lutheran and an active member of Davis Lutheran Church, helping to found it in 1951. He enjoyed ocean fishing and deer hunting. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and the Davis Senior Center travel group. He was interested in politics, actively supporting the Democratic Party. He also supported the Disabled American Veterans, as well as many other charities.
He is survived by two daughters, Ruth Senft and her husband Nelson Senft and Roberta and her husband Jack Devine; and a son, Richard Forde. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric Senft, Liz Forde, Jill Stephenson and her husband Ian, and Sean Devine; sisters, Margaret Thomasen and Laura Putman; and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Christina and his sister Carolyn.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Davis Lutheran Church, 317 Eighth St., with a graveside service to follow at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road.
Remembrances may be made in his name to Davis Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund.
FOREMAN
David H. Foreman
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Kraft Bros. chapel for David Henry Foreman, 76, of Woodland who died Sunday afternoon at his home at 923 North Street.
A native of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Mr. Foreman had been in the county and state 49 years and had worked as a barber in Woodland during that time.
He was a member of Woodland Lodge No. 111, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Francis Hollenbeck of Berkeley and Mrs. Jane Sunderland of Portland; a brother, John Burger of Berkeley; two nieces and two nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and one great great nephew.
Entombment will be in the Woodland mausoleum.
FOREMAN
Norma Louise Foreman
Norma Louise Foreman of Paradise died Monday, May 2, 2005 at age 84.
Mrs. Foreman was born Sept. 28, 1920 in Cincinnati to John and Idella Gleason. She was a long time resident of Woodland.
She graduated from Norwood High in Ohio in 1938.
Along with being a mother she ran a family grocery store with her husband in Woodland.
Throughout the years she also was employed as a graphic arts technician, secretary, proofreader, typist, and clerk II.
She was employed by the Majestic Publishing Co., Economic Opportunity Commission, and individual C.P.A.s and general contractors.
Survivors include Mrs. Forman's son, Randall Foreman of San Francisco; her companion, Fred Mayfield of Clipper Mills and her "honorary" daughters, Kathy Marriott of Brownsville and Vicki Kunst of Paradise.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George and youngest son, John.
Services: A private memorial to celebrate Mrs. Forman's life will be scheduled at a later date.
FORMENT
Brian Vincent Forment
Brian Vincent Forment died at his home in Woodland on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at age 63.
Mr. Forment was born July 13, 1942 in Millbrae, the only child of Vincent and Ida Forment.
He had been a Yolo County resident for about 33 years.
He grew up in Millbrae, where he attended local elementary, junior high, and Capuchino High School.
He attended the College of San Mateo where he studied photography.
After two years of military service in Missouri, Texas and Indiana from 1965 to 1967, he returned and entered San Francisco State College as an art and photography major.
After graduation in 1969 he continued on to receive his secondary teaching credential at SF State College in the same fields.
In 1970, he was inducted into the educational fraternity at SF State.
His first teaching job was at Duarte High School in the Los Angeles area where he taught art from 1970 to 1972.
On June 26, 1971 he marriage Sally Ann Page from Tiburon.
After two years at Duarte, he applied and was hired by Esparto Unified School District at the high school level where he remained until June 2003, a total of 31 years where he taught art, photography, jewelry, ceramics, yearbook, school newspaper and driver's education.
He spent the remainder of his years teaching history at the high school level until he concluded his teaching career at Madison Community High School in Madison.
He worked with his wife Sally Ann Forment, who owned the Woodland Dance Academy, photographing the children in their "Nutcracker" and various costumes for 26 years as well as doing the videotapes, programs and posters.
Survivors include Mr. Forment's wife of 34 years, Sally Ann Forment of Woodland and his daughter, Page Anne Berghoffer and her husband, Charles D. Berghoffer III of Redmond, Wash.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Forment's name be directed to the Woodland Friends of the Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Woodland Senior Center, 630 Lincoln Ave., Woodland.
