Eloise Laura Beckmann
Eloise Laura Beckmann died at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland, Sunday, March 17, 2002, at age 90.
Born Feb. 18, 1912, in Geyserville, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mabel Voelker. Her childhood was spent in Colusa County, south of Grimes.
Mrs. Beckmann lived 29 years in Knights Landing and was a resident of Woodland for the past 41 years. She was a homemaker most of her life and taught ceramic lessons in her home from 1969 to 1989. She exhibited her own work at many craft shows throughout the state.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 49 years, as well as past patron, past deputy and past mother adviser of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She loved to garden and always had a beautiful yard, according to her family, who added "she loved to play bridge and had belonged to three bridge clubs."
Mrs. Beckmann is survived by daughter, Ruth Gilbert of Woodland; son Fred Beckman and wife Carolyn of Los Alamos, Mexico; grandchildren Diane Frost and husband Rob of Woodland, Keena Beckmann of San Francisco and Bill Beckmann of Denver, Colo.; great-granddaughters Leslie Frost of Rohnert Park, Karli Frost of Woodland, and Keli Beckmann of Denver, Colo.
She was preceded in death by husband William (Bill) Beckmann on Feb. 19, 1971, and son-in-law Lloyd Gilbert on Feb. 6, 1997.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at McNary's Chapel in Woodland. Interment will be private.

BECKSTROM
Elva M. Beckstrom
Elva Mae Beckstrom died peacefully on Aug. 31, 2002, in Placerville. She was 81 years old.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1920, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the fourth child of Brigham Fielding and Laura Selinda Bringhurst Duffin. The family moved to Santa Paula in 1927 where she attended local schools.
Upon graduation from Santa Paula High School, she attended Ventura Junior College, majoring in music. On June 21, 1941, she marriage her sweetheart Reid J. Beckstrom, in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple.
The couple lived in Inglewood where she became a homemaker and enjoyed participating in musical activities and singing in a girls' trio. Their first two children were born during this time. In 1947, following the end of World War II, she and her husband moved to Coalinga where two more children were born.
In 1961 her family moved with her husband's career to Davis. After her children left for college, she worked as an admissions officer at UC Davis.
In 1981 her husband retired and they settled in Somerset, where they built their own home and cultivated beautiful gardens. In 1991 she joined with her husband in establishing the El Dorado Stake Genealogy Center in Placerville. During this time she was able to trace her ancestors back to the early 1500s.
She was active in several organizations in the LDS church, PTA, Girl Scouts and other civic and community activities. She loved singing and dancing and performed in various musical productions throughout her live. She was a talented artist and seamstress, an excellent cook, and loving wife and mother. She made many friends and faithfully supported her husband and children in all their activities and endeavors.
She loved life, had an easy laugh and enjoyed people of all ages and from all walks of life. She was particularly fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was much loved and will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
She especially appreciated the care and kindness of her dear neighbors, her compassionate doctors, and the staff at Marshall Hospital during her last days of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Bringhurst Duffin; a sister, Laura Marie Cosby; and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Reid, to whom she had been marriage for 61 years; a sister, Ellen Lucille Revill of Simi; a brother, John Gilbert Duffin of Henderson, Nev.; her children and their spouses, David and Linda Beckstrom of Snohomish, Wash., Elaine and Harold Cluff of McCall, Idaho, Jan and Erin David Bigler of Provo, Utah, and Karen and Aaron Niepoetter of Bloomington, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 3275 Cedar Ravine Road in Placerville. A viewing will be held at noon prior to the service.

Eva Beckwith
Eva Beckwith died in Woodland Saturday, April 20, 2002, at age 72.
She was born June 23, 1929, in Oakland, Calif., to the late Charles Daniel McCampbell and Edith Eveline McCampbell-Nelson.
The family moved from Albany to Capay in the late 1930s. Mrs. Beckwith attended elementary school in Capay and high school in Esparto. She marriage Jack "Buster" Beckwith May 3, 1945. She raised five children and loved baking and canning. She enjoyed flowers, playing the piano, reading and traveling to Hawaii.
Mrs. Beckwith is survived by her husband, Jack Beckwith of Brooks; sons, William Beckwith and his wife, Ronnie, of St. Helena, and Grover Beckwith and his wife, Sue, of Brooks; daughters, Ellen Miller of Yolo and Brenda Hunter and her husband, Gary, of Brooks; grandchildren, Scott Beckwith of Jamaica, Krystene Best of Jetmore, Kan., Kristopher Ferrell of Tulsa, Okla., Monica Hughes and Nanette Zabell, both of Oakdale, Mike Benitez and Grover Benitez, both of Woodland, and Mary Hunter of Brooks; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Richard McCampbell of San Pablo; Myra Teague of Marysville, Kay Stumpf and husband, Ron, of Grangeville, Idaho, Dona Stumpf of Baltimore, and Sandra Brown and husband, Gene, of Pinole.
Mrs. Beckwith was preceded in death by her brother, Dan McCampbell and daughter, Eva Stidham.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, April 27, at Capay Cemetery.

Grover "Stretch" Cleveland Beckwith
Grover "Stretch" Cleveland Beckwith died in Sacramento early Wednesday morning July 17, 2002, at age 49.
Born Aug. 12, 1952, in Woodland, Mr. Beckwith graduated from Esparto High School. He was a heavy equipment operator. He lived and worked in Alaska for a number of years. According to his family members, "he enjoyed traveling, photography, cooking, woodworking and gardening."
Mr. Beckwith is survived by his wife, Susan Beckwith of Esparto; sons, Mike Benitez and Grover Benitez of Woodland, and Cary Beckwith of Woodland; father, Jack Beckwith of Brooks; brother, Bill Beckwith and wife Ronnie of St. Helena; and sister, Ellen Miller of Yolo and Brenda Beckwith and husband Gary Hunter of Brooks.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, James Charles and wife Paulette of Woodland, and Amy Rolls and husband Jason of Montana; five grandchildren; numerous aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Beckwith was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Beckwith; and sister, Eva Stidham.
A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Capay Cemetery.

Jack 'Buster' Beckwith
Jack "Buster" Beckwith died at his home in Brooks, Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at age 78.
Mr. Beckwith was born June 24, 1926 in Woodland and was a life-long Yolo County resident. He worked as a farmer most of his life.
Survivors include Mr. Beckwith's daughters, Brenda Beckwith and Ellen Miller, both of Brooks; his son, William Beckwith of St. Helena; his granddaughter, Mary Hunter of Brooks and eight additional grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eva Beckwith; his daughter, Eva Stidham and his son, Grover Beckwith.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Beckwith's name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Capay Cemetery in Esparto. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jack "Buster" Beckwith died at home in Brooks Tuesday, April 26 at the age of 78.
Jack was born June 24, 1926 in Woodland to the late Mae and Burt Beckwith.
Mr. Beckwith attended local schools and graduated from Canon School in Brooks. He marriage Eva McCampbell May 3, 1945. Jack and Eva raised five children.
Jack was engaged in farming and enjoyed the process and results of his labor.
Mr. Beckwith is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Ronnie of St. Helena and daughters, Ellen Miller of Brooks and Brenda and her husband Gary Hunter of Brooks. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Mary Hunter of Brooks.
Mr. Beckwith is also survived by eight additional grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Beckwith was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Eva; his daughter Eva Stidham and his son, Grover Beckwith.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Capay Cemetery.

BEDART
John Bedart, Jr.
John Bedart Jr. died at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004 at age 47.
Mr. Bedart was born July 1, 1957 in Woodland. He had been a life-long Arbuckle resident. He graduated from Pierce High School in 1975 and from Chico State in 1979 with degrees in business and agriculture. He worked as a corporate pilot and later was an Ag Real Estate Broker with Stromer Realty of Yuba City for more than 20 years. He was also a land developer and farmer. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, Holy Cross Catholic Church and Pierce High School Booster Club.
Survivors include Mr. Bedart's wife of 20 years, Susan Bedart; his daughter, Andrea Bedart; his sons, Brandon and Austin Bedart; his parents Bob and Mary Kae Bedart, all of Arbuckle and his sister, Elizabeth Ghani of Inglewood. The family requests memorial donations in Mr. Bedart's name be directed to Pierce High School Booster Club, Attn.: Gary Teague, 960 Wildwood St., Arbuckle, 95912 or to the Arbuckle Fire Department, 506 Lucas St., Arbuckle, 95912 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: Visitation is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at McNary-Moore Chapel, 107 Fifth St., Colusa. A rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. Burial will follow at Arbuckle Cemetery. MARTIN
Angelina Terease Martin
Angelina Terease Martin passed away April 29, 1999, in Vacaville. Affectionately known as Angie, she was born in San Francisco, Sept. 9, 1926. She was 72 years old.
Angie was a resident of Winters for 27 years, prior to moving to Fairfield, where she resided for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker for 53 years, and also worked as a weigh-master for 22 years for Valley View Packing Co. in Fairfield.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Antonio M. Martin; daughters and sons-in-law, Esther and Andre Stone of Sacramento, and Angelina and Robert Stone of Vacaville; grandchildren, Sara Stone and A. J. Stone of Sacramento, and Ashley Long and Rachel Long of Vacaville; great-granddaughter Ashley Gabrielle Hayes-Stone of Sacramento and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Petrina Caramucci, and a sister, Rosemarie Hazelton.
A visitation and rosary prayer service was held Monday evening, May 3, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, May 4, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Fairfield. Interment followed at the Winters Cemetery. Rev. Sebastian Meyer officiated at the services.
Niece Patricia Layton sang Ave Maria and Amazing Grace at the Mass, granddaughters Sara Stone and Ashley Long gave the reading. All four of Angie’s grandchildren took the gifts up to the altar.
Pallbearers were Joe Hazelton, Andy Stone, A. J. Stone, Robert Long, Tukie Layton and Steven Fong.
