C. Ray Griffis
C. Ray Griffis died in his Woodland home Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at age 76.
Born Feb. 24, 1926, in Zincville, Okla., Mr. Griffis was the son of the late Elbert N and Mary E. Griffis. He moved to Woodland in 1963. He retired from PG&E in 1991 after 32 years working as a mechanical inspector. According to his family members, "he enjoyed visiting with family, dining out and working on cars." He was also a member of the Woodland Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Griffis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marguerite (Marge) Griffis of Woodland; sons, Nelson Griffis and wife Barbara of Battleground, Wash., James Griffis and wife Laura of Woodland, and Ray Griffis and wife Rhonda of San Antonio, Texas; and daughters, Janice Jones and husband Richard of Stockton and Kim Somero and husband Roger of Hancock, Mich.
He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Francis Terrill of Los Angeles.
A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

Norman 'Jiggs' Gene Storm
Norman "Jiggs" Gene Storm died at his home in Dillon Beach Sunday, April 17, 2005 at age 78.
Mr. Storm was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Ontario, Calif. to William and Marie Storm. He had been a Yolo County resident for 36 years. After graduating high school in 1945, he joined the U.S. Army and served in as a paratrooper in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked in Oregon in the logging industry. He moved to Woodland in 1961 and began his 27-year career as a truck driver.
Survivors include Mr. Storm's wife of 55 years, Mary Josephine Storm; his children, Cheryl Rhodes and her companion Jim Franklin, Linda Bruhn and her husband Jeff, Janice Storm and her partner Rhonda Ray, Diane Miller and her husband Kenneth; her grandchildren, Janie Parker and her husband Mike, Rocky Rhodes and his wife Donna, Heidi Baker and her husband Tyler, Tyquin Johnson and his wife Sheryl, Mystique Chandler and her husband Erik, Jeffery Bruhn and his wife Tera, Siobhan Bruhn, John Dawson and his wife Rebecca, Joseph Dawson and his wife Liberty, Kristen Payne and her husband Travis, Mathew and Stefan Miller; 24 great-grandchildren; her brother Marvin Storm and numerous cousins.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 22 at Sebastopol Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 7951 Bodega Avenue, Sebastopol. Keaton's Redwood Chapel of Novato is assisting the family with arrangements.

Norman "Jiggs" Gene Storm passed away peacefully April 17, 2005 at his home at Dillon Beach of natural causes. Born Jan. 8, 1927 in Ontario, California to William and Marie Storm, he grew up in California and Oregon. In 1949, he marriage the former Mary Josephine Hodge and settled in Langlois, Ore. to start his family. The family moved to Woodland in 1961 and Norman began a long career as a truck driver. He and his wife moved to Dillon Beach in 1997 to enjoy the beach and outdoors they loved. An avid outdoorsman, He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, clamming, crabbing and gardening. Gerald P. Storms
Gerald Patrick Storms, a six-year Davis resident, died suddenly on March 2, 2000, at a hospital in Sacramento. Born on Aug. 6, 1936, in Woodland, he was 63.
He was a retired sworn peace officer with the state. He retired after 38 years of service as an investigator.
He graduated from high school in Woodland and then attended San Francisco City College.
He enjoyed spending his time with his family and was an avid bicyclist.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Storms of Davis; son, Patrick Storms of Oakland; two step-sons, John and Todd Foster, both of Antioch; brother, Lauren Storms of Alaska; and four grandchildren, Jaclyn, Travis, Sandra and Sidney Foster, all of Antioch.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 2 p.m. on Monday at Davis First Baptist Church.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, 350 Alhambre Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95814.
Arrangements are being handles by the Davis Funeral Chapel.

Connie Lee (Ryan) Storz
Connie Lee (Ryan) Storz died in Solano County Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at age 48.
Born Jan. 12, 1955, in Stockton, Mrs. Storz had been a Yolo County resident for 30 years. She graduated from Woodland High School. She was active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Petaluma. and worked as a store manager for Kinko's and other businesses. She recently obtained her real estate license and was to start in real estate sales.
Survivors include her daughter, Meredith Storz of Woodland; parents, Nathan and Marjorie Ryan of Lake Almanor; brothers, Michael Ryan of Seattle, Wash., Curtis Ryan of Long Beach and David Ryan of Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church of Woodland; and St. John's Lutheran Church of Petaluma. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Petaluma. A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Woodland, with a burial to follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.

STORZ
David F. Storz
David F. Storz, 55, passed away in an auto accident on Aug. 8, 2005 in Clearlake Oaks, Lake County. Storz was a 1968 graduate of Winters High School and served in the armed services.
The Record-Bee reported that Storz was driving home on Highway 20 when he was struck head-on by 26-year-old Maria Sepulveda of Clearlake. According to the California Highway Patrol, both were killed in the accident.
An unidentified woman riding in Storz’s car, was airlifted to the UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries.
According to the CHP report, the collision occurred when Sepulveda inexplicably drove her 1993 Ford Thunderbird into the westbound lane while traveling east. Storz, driving a 1995 Subaru Legacy in the westbound lane, attempted to avoid the collision by braking and swerving to the right, the CHP said, but was struck head-on.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Storz of Fortuna, sister Diane of Seattle, and brother Dennis of Portland. He was proceeded in death by his father Al Storz.
Funeral services were private.

Paul Stephen Storz
Paul Stephen Storz died in Sacramento Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at age 49.
Born Jan. 12, 1954, in Woodland, Mr. Storz had been a Yolo County resident for 34 years. He graduated from Woodland High School and Sacramento State University. He worked for PG&E as manager of Regulatory Relations for the past 16 years. He also worked for SMUD and at San Diego Gas and Electric prior to PG&E. He was the president of St. John's Lutheran Church in Petaluma.
Survivors include his daughter, Meredith Storz of Woodland; brother, Mark Storz of Chico; sister-in-law, Joyce Storz, also of Chico; uncle, Walter Storz of Woodland and nephew, Peter Storz of San Francisco Bay Area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Storz; daughter, Rachel Storz; and parents, Gary and Jean Storz.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church of Woodland; and St. John's Lutheran Church of Petaluma. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.

Born May 23, 1993, in Santa Rosa, Rachel was a fifth grade student at Cross and Crown School in Petaluma. Her activities include hunting and fishing with parents and grandparents. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Petaluma.
