Cesarine Greco
Cesarine 'Susie' Greco died July 15, 2000, in Dixon. Born Dec. 29, 1897, in Doues, Italy, she was 102 years old.
She was a resident of Dixon for 77 years, where she worked as a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Lena and her husband Mike Miguelgory of Placerville, her daughter Gloria and her husband Donald Fadley of Dixon, her daughter Diane and her husband Ken Grisby of Dixon, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. The service will be presided over by Father Maurice O'Brien of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
She will be laid to rest at Silveyville Cemetery.
STOUFFER
Keith Carnes Stouffer
Keith Carnes Stouffer died in Woodland Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 at age 76.
Mr. Stouffer was born Jan. 30, 1928 in Golden, Neb. He had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years.
Mr. Stouffer's survivors include Betty Stouffer of Woodland; his daughter, Kathy Heinrichson of Galt; his sons, K.C. Stouffer of Turlock and Scott Stouffer of Glendora; his grandchildren, Sara and Samantha; his sisters, Donna Salisbury and Maxine Trogdan and his brother, Clarence Stouffer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Hill.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Stouffer's name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617. Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Stouffer no services are scheduled. North Sacramento Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
GRIEP
Henry 'Edwin' Griep
Henry "Edwin" Griep died in his Sumner, Wash., home on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at age 85.
Born Nov. 28, 1918, in Ocheyedan, Iowa, Mr. Griep had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. He was a resident of Sumner, Wash for the last five years. He retired from the County of Yolo, Roads Department. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Brabec of Bonney Lake, Wash., and Carrolyn Holliday of Yuba City; sons, Daniel Griep of Boise, Idaho, and Larry Griep of Salinas; sisters, Clara Ullman of Bethesda, Md., Pearl Elaine Ripke of Fennimore, Wis., Doris Martin of Ladysmith, Wis., and Bonnie May Weix of Colby, Wis.; brother, Raymond Griep of Marshfield, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allen Griep.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at New Testament Church in Woodland with Pastor Mark Holliday of Sutter Community Church officiating. Private family interment will be at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
THOMPSON
Margaret "Marti" Thompson
Margaret "Marti" Thompson died at her residence on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at the age of 53. She was born in Wichita, Kan., to the late Elmer N. Waller Sr. and Imogene (Oxlcy) Atkins of Grain Valley, Missouri.
Mrs. Thompson worked as a bookkeeper for the Citadel Title Co. and was a resident of West Sacramento for the past two years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her husband Steve of West Sacramento, two sons, Anthony D. Schmult of Antioch and Carl Frederick Schmult of Sacramento; four sisters, Ella Andrews of Oak Grove, Mo, Pat Verhulst of North Kansas City, Mo; two brothers Elmer Waller Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kevin Waller of Oak Grove, Mo. Mrs. Thompson is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome for a visitation today, Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 29 Elliot St., Woodland. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery in Woodland.
Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
DAVIS
Elizabeth C. Davis
Elizabeth Christine Davis of Davis died Feb. 20, 2002, at Courtyard Healthcare Center in Davis. She was 90.
She was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Templeton. She enjoyed politics, reading, gardening and her family. She taught elementary school in San Luis Obispo County for many years. She lived in Davis and Woodland for the past 28 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Ann Davis of Davis, Beatrice Davis and Catherine Davis; son-in-law Darryl Davis of Davis; grandchildren Matthew and his wife Viviana of Davis, Daniel and his fiancee Madeleine of Davis, John, Elizabeth, Alden, Cheryl, Christine and Ronald; her great-granddaughter, N'Kayla; and other family and friends.
Her son Ronald Jones preceded her in death.
Burial will be in a family plot at the Templeton Cemetery.
GRIFFIN
John Joseph Griffin
John Joseph Griffin died in Woodland Monday, March 17, 2003, at age 43.
Born Jan. 21, 1960, in Grand Forks, N.D., Mr. Griffin had been a Yolo County resident for 15 years. He worked in construction for 15 years including eight months at Dryden Construction.
Survivors include his son, Devin Copeland of Woodland; parents, Vernon and Beverly Griffin of Vacaville; brothers, Mark Griffin of Las Vegas, Nev., Randy Griffin of Reno, Nev., and David Griffin of Vacaville; and sisters, Jeanette Johnson of Vacaville and Teresa Spier of Suisun.
The family requests memorials be sent to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A memorial gathering will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at 214 Plane Ave., Woodland.
STORZ
Ruby Viola Storz
Ruby Viola Storz, of Esparto, died at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland, on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005 at age 83.
Mrs. Storz was born March 23, 1922, in Winters. She was a lifelong Yolo County resident. She attended grade school in Winters and graduated from Winters High School in 1940. She was a mother for 64 years and a housewife for 53 years. For 25 years she helped maintain the books for the family’s petroleum business. She was a member of the Countryside Community Church in Esparto and an elder of the church for a while.
Survivors include Mrs. Storz’s daughters, Nancy Ender, of Salmon, Idaho and Debbie Walters, of Folsom; grandchildren, Ron Lewis, of Winters, Cary Beckwith, of Woodland and Hans Holmquist, of Folson; two great-grandchildren, Ron and Freddie Lewis, of Winters and her brother, Toby Scott, of Esparto.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Frederick Alvin Storz; daughter, Maria Beckwith; son, Phillip Storz; parents, George and Ruby Scott; sisters, Lois Wonderoth and Lena Polglase; brothers, Lester, Floyd and J. C. Scott, and her great-grandfather, Winfield Scott, founder of Scottsdale, Arizona.
A graveside service is scheduled for noon, Saturday, Oct. 29, at Capay Cemetery, with Reverend Pamela Anderson officiating. A luncheon for family and friends will follow the service at Countryside Community Church, 26479 Grafton Street, Esparto.
