Alfred J. Cortopassi
Alfred J. Cortopassi died in Sacramento on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at age 75.
Born Aug. 23, 1928, a native of Woodland, Mr. Cortopassi was a lifelong resident of Yolo County. After serving in the U.S. Navy for four years, he marriage Manuela 'Millie' Ruiz of Winters in 1952. He served the Yolo County area for over 30 years delivering food and beverages.
Survivors include his wife Millie Cortopassi of Woodland; sons, Jeff Cortopassi and wife Marianne of Hinsdale, Ill., Dennis Cortopassi of Woodland, and Kirk Cortopassi and wife Beth of Los Banos; grandchildren, Nick and Katie of Hinsdale, Ill., Jared, Chase and Bryant of Los Banos; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Peter; and sisters, Evelyn Mazzocini and Doris Bortoli.
The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A graveside memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 County Road 22, Woodland.
COTA
Juliana Cota
Juliana Cota of Colusa died in her home Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 at age 91.
Mrs. Cota was born Jan. 9, 1914 in Bisby, Ariz., to Manuel and Josefina Gonzalez.
A homemaker, wife and mother, Mrs. Cota lived in Mid-Valley her entire life. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Survivors include her son Manuel Cota and his wife Alice of Colusa; grandson, Chris Cota of Sacramento and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Cota Sr.
Services: A funeral is scheduled 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland. Private family committal services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family requests donations made in Mrs. Cota's memory to the charity of the donor's choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
COTTLE
Marisa Cottle
Marisa Cottle died Oct. 11, 2004. She was 76.
A memorial Mass is at 4 p.m. Friday at St. James Church, 1275 B. St. in Davis. A reception will follow at St. James Memorial Center. Interment will be private.
Born in Montalto di Castro, Italy, on May 5, 1928, she was a Davis resident for almost 50 years.
She worked at the UC Davis material management/purchasing department for 40 years. Throughout her career, she enjoyed her work and the people she worked with, keeping in touch with them long after she retired.
Her family said she derived great pleasure from preparing big meals for her children, their in-laws and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, bicycling and traveling around the world where she found endless discovery of various cultures, beautiful places and people. With her twin sister, she made numerous trips to Europe. She was a long-standing member of St. James Altar Society and Women's Guild.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ornella Thompson, twin sister Fiorella Gielow, and brothers Italo and Augusto Passalacqua.
She is survived by her sons, Wendell Cottle and his wife Barbara McPherson of San Juan Capistrano, Glenn Cottle of Marina del Rey, and Terence Cottle and his wife Catherine of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Tonino Passalacqua of Civitavecchia, Italy; grandchildren Kerry, Whitney, Jessica, Ashley, Carly and Jason; nephew William Gielow of Soquel and niece Marisa Gielow of Woodland; and several Italian nephews and nieces, cousins and good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. James School Music Department, 1215 B. St., Davis, CA 95616. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
COTTON
Joe L. Cotton
Joe Larry Cotton died in his Davis home on March 17, 2000, after a short illness. He was surrounded by family members and friends. Born on Nov. 2, 1935, in Groesbeck, Texas, he was 64.
He graduated from Roswell High School in Roswell, N.M., in 1955 and joined the U.S. Navy to pursue his love of flying. He was one of the first to fly a Navy jet.
In 1961, he joined the New Mexico State Police. He retired in 1981 as a captain. During his career as a police officer, he became an expert marksman and headed a sniper team. He also worked on the search and rescue team.
He graduated from the FBI National Academy in March 1981.
Joe and Marie Cotton moved to Davis in 1984 and established Rainbow International Carpet Dyeing & Cleaning Co.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; sons, James Larry Cotton and his wife Karen of Davis and Clifford Wayne Cotton and his wife Kamela of Rowlett, Texas; stepsons, Michael Spellenberg and his wife Paula of Angels Camp and Martin Spellenberg and his wife Galaine of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepmother, Floris Cotton of Roswell, N.M.; sister, Sue Ballew of Canyon Lake; and grandchildren, Emily Cotton of Davis, Chloe and Tanner Cotton of Rowlett, Texas, and Sarah and Rachel Spellenberg of Angels Camp.
A memorial party will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at 4926 Cowell Blvd. in South Davis. The family welcomes anyone to share stories at the celebration of his life.

COTTRELL
B. June Cottrell
B. June Cottrell died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 in Sacramento. Born April 9, 1924 Ms. Cottrell was 79.
Ms. Cottrell was a resident of Yolo County for five years. Ms. Cottrell graduated with a BA in music from the University of the pacific before obtaining a teaching credential from the state of California. Ms. Cottrell taught at Sutterville School in Sacramento for 22 years. She was a member of the California Teacher's Association, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter and a member of Daughter's of the Nile.
Ms. Cottrell is survived by her daughter Kathy Chopelas and husband Tony, of Fair Oaks; grandsons, T.J. Chopelas, of Fair Oaks and Sean Chopelas, of Woodland and dearest friend Marylouise Krier of Sacramento.
Ms. Cottrell was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Margaret (McHugh) Allen of Woodland.
The family requests memorials may be sent to the Cancer Society of Northern California.
Services: A visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Kraft Bros. Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Kraft Bros. Chapel. A private, family only, interment will be scheduled for a later date at Monument Hill Memorial Park.
COULTER
Pauline Mary Coulter
Pauline Mary Coulter died peacefully in Cottonwood Healthcare, Woodland, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at age 79. She was a former Winters residence.
Born Sept. 3, 1921, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Anthony Joseph and Clara Louise (Guenther) Turk, Mrs. Coulter enjoyed various activities and reading. She was also a past member of both the American Legion and Moose Lodges of Woodland, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She worked for Woodland Memorial Hospital as medical clerk for 10 years.
Mrs. Coulter is survived by her sons, Michael Coulter of Woodland, and Jerry Coulter of Bakersfield; and grandchildren, Richard Coulter of Sacramento, Pamela Lyons and husband Mike of Woodland; Michelle Colley and husband Tom of Tacoma, Washington; Christie Brown and husband Jim of Woodland; Jeri Lee Coulter and Sara Coulter of Bakersfield; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers, Herbert Turk of San Antonio, Texas, and Alvin Turk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Coulter was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Coulter on July 24, 1995.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at St. Joseph Cemetery, Woodland.
The family requests memorials be to Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund, 503 California Street, Woodland 95695.

D'Kaiah Emile Coutee
D'Kaiah Emile Coutee, the infant son of Tiara A. Sells and Dennis E. Coutee Jr. died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002.
Also surviving him are his maternal grandparents, Sammy Hawk of Woodland and Frenchie Sells of Sacramento; paternal grandparents, Cynthia Miller of Woodland and Dennis Coutee Sr. of Dunnigan; paternal great-grandparents, Doris K. Miller of Woodland and Frank and Sarah Coutee of Dunnigan as well as great-great-grandmother Helen W. Mason of Woodland. Other survivors include uncles, Timothy Coutee and Gary Whitmore, both of Woodland; and aunts, Sanita Washington and husband Doug of Oklahoma and Karissa Coutee of Woodland; as well as numerous great-uncles and great-aunts.
A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Woodland Cemetery.
