Maximilian Alexander Sanchez
Maximilian Alexander Sanchez of Davis died suddenly at his home, of apparent cardiac arrest, on Feb. 17, 2002. He was 14.
He was born in Castro Valley on Dec. 3, 1987, and was the son of Cecilia Gabrielli-Villanueva and stepfather David Villanueva of Davis and Dennis Sanchez Sr. of Concord. He was a student at Holmes Junior High School in Davis.
He enjoyed basketball, golf and snowboarding, as well as watching movies, working out and spending time with family and friends. He was known at school and home as hard-working and friendly, as a person who never gave up and who enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his brothers, Jake Gudino, Denny Sanchez and Glen Sanchez; his sister, Julia Sanchez; his grandparents, John and Nancy Gabrielli of Davis and Richard and Mary Lizama of Hayward; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Davis, 38141 Russell Blvd. A reception will follow at the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Max Sanchez Memorial Fund at First Northern Bank at 434 Second St., Davis, CA 95616, or to the donor's charity of choice.
SANDERS
Hazel Louise Sanders
Hazel Louise Sanders died following a brief battle with cancer in her Red Bluff home Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at age 79.
Born Aug. 7, 1923, in Hinton, Okla., Mrs. Sanders resided in Woodland for more than 43 years.
Survivors include her son, Tom Sanders and his wife Ernestine of Corning; daughters, Karen Lindberg and her husband Dennis of Chico, and Debby Vandervort of Monterey; companion Richard Royce; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Josie (Tony) Florine Shelton of Galt; nieces Glenda Gordon, RayeAnn Lindersmith and Becky Cochran and their families; and nephew, Larry Hinson and his wife Alice of Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Clifford Sanders, in 1982; and grandson Troy Sanders.
The family requests memorials be directed to Saint Elizabeth's Hospice of Red Bluff. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Flowers of Red Bluff.
Services: Graveside services for friends and family is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, (her 80th birthday), at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
SANDERS
Judy Isabell Sanders
Judy Isabell Sanders died at Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville, Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at age 75.
Mrs. Sanders was born March 24, 1929 and had been a Yolo County resident most of her life. She was employed as a nurse and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include Mrs. Sanders' daughter, Peggy Sanders; her son, Robert Sanders; five granddaughters; two grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Sanders and her sons, Benny Jr., Tommy, Terry, Michael, and Johnny Sanders. The family requests memorials in Mrs. Sanders' name be directed to the Judy Sanders Memorial Account, c/o Golden 1 Credit Union, Account No. 553126-0, 383 W. Main St., Woodland, 95695.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Woodland Cemetery. Peers Lorentzen Funeral Service of Tulare is assisting the family with arrangements.
SANDERS
Peggy Sanders
Peggy Sanders passed away on May 21, 2004, in Sacramento. She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in New York. She was the loving mother of Polly Sanders and George Sanders, Jr. (deceased) and surviving wife of George Sanders, Sr.
The Sanders family moved to Southern California in 1959 and Peggy and George retired to Winters. For 25 years, her Winters home was the hub of many gatherings, from book clubs to neighborhood groups. Peggy loved to cook, read and have intellectual discussions on almost any topic. She was a beloved friend of many and will be missed.
SANDHU
Harvinder Kaur Sandhu
Harvinder Kaur Sandhu died on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at UCD Medical Center, Sacramento, at age 49.
Born Sept. 8, 1953, in Jaura, Punjab, Mrs. Sandhu had been a Yolo County resident for two months.
Survivors include her husband, Harsharan S. Sandhu of Woodland; daughters, Harpreet K. Gill, also of Woodland, and Gurpreet K. Sandhu of India; son, Rupinder S. Sandhu of India; brother, Jaspal Singh of India; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of North Sacramento Funeral Home.
Services: A service is scheduled at noon Sunday, Jan. 19, at North Sacramento Funeral Home.
SANDHU
Sukhvinder (Vinny) Kaur Sandhu
Sukhvinder (Vinny) Kaur Sandhu died in an automobile accident in Yuba City on Aug. 16, 2005. She was 19.
A memorial service begins at noon Saturday at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St. in Yuba City.
Born in Yuba City on Oct. 3, 1983, she was a student at UC Davis working on her bachelor's degree.
She is survived by her mother and father, Kashmir and Gurinder Sandhu; her brother, Raju Sandhu; a sister, Jessie Sandhu; and her grandmother, Gian Kaur Hayre, all of Yuba City.
SANDOVAL
Justina Y. Sandoval
Justina Y. Sandoval died at her home in Woodland on July 14, 2000. Born Nov. 10, 1915, in Sonora, Mexico, to the late Manuel and Justin Ybarra, she was 84.
A Yolo County resident for 54 years, she was a homemaker all of her adult life.
She is survived by her four daughters, Helen Sandoval of Vacaville, Rita Ramirez of Woodland, Barbara Lara and her husband Richard of Woodland, and Margie Matta of Lathrop; four sons, Danny Sandoval of Spanish Flat, George Sandoval and his wife Rosie of Woodland, Fred Sandoval and his wife Millie of Woodland, and Richard Sandoval and his wife April of Woodland; two nieces, Beatrice Pachuca of Antioch and Edna Sapata and her husband Schlitz of Stockton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Sandoval, on Oct. 17, 1993, and her daughter, Jennie Sandoval, on June 21, 1999.
The vigil will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Church. A funeral mass is scheduled Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Church with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
