Marie Carbahal Lopez
Marie Carbahal Lopez passed away on Oct. 31, 2000. Born on August 9, 1922, she was 78 years old.
Mrs. Carbahal worked as a floor supervisor at Tufts Packing Shed. She was in the fruit packing business for 50 years. A 1941 graduate of Winters High School, she was a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church and the Lady's Guild.
She is survived by her spouse of 54 years, Sebastian Lopez of Winters; children Sebastian Lopez and wife Peggy of Marysville, Michael Lopez, and Gloria Lopez and her husband Michael Autry of Winters; grandchildren Erin Autry of Boston, Massachusetts, Brett Autry of Eugene Oregon, Matthew Lopez of Yuba City, and Cory Lopez of Winters; sisters Juanita Carrion of Arbuckle and Alice Estepa of Vacaville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Mike Carbahal.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Lopez on Friday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel. A visitation is planned for Thursday, Nov. 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel. Burial is planned at the Winters Cemetery. Pastor Frank Anderson will preside over the services. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Lopez' name to the American Diabetes Association.

Nick F. Lopez (1st of 2 obituaries)
Nick F. Lopez died in Winters Sunday, June 29, 2003, at age 93.
Born July 4, 1909, in Uleila, Southern Spain, Mr. Lopez had been a Yolo County resident for 15 years. He emigrated to the U.S. from Spain in 1926 and worked in the grocery store business as a deliveryman for Escano Grocery Store in Fairfield. Later, he became a partner in California Market, in Winters and in Vacaville. In 1948, he sold his interest in the market and became a full-time farmer until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Valley Almond Growers, Valley Farmers Co-op, and an honorary member of "Club Iberico de Espaņa."
Survivors include his daughter, Rose Marie Hendricks; son, John I. Lopez and wife Gaye; grandchildren, Mark Ramos and wife Jenny, Nicole Brace and husband Robert, Barry Staats and wife Charlene, Karl Staats and Nick J. Lopez; and great-grandchildren, Scott and Morgan Brace, Jared, Ryan and Annie Ramos, and Alyssia Staats. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lopez; a sister; and three brothers. The family requests memorials be directed to: Winters Healthcare Foundation; Sutter West Hospice; or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vacaville's McCune Garden Chapel.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m., with a vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Winters. A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, also at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow, in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 503 California St., Woodland.

Nick F. Lopez entered into rest on June 29, 2003 in Winters. Born July 4, 1909 in Uleila, Southern Spain, he was 93 years old.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and slot machines and "Big Time Wrestling. " He was a member of the Valley Almond Growers, Valley Farmers Co-op, and an honorary member of "Club Iberico de Espana."
Mr. Lopez is survived by his son John I. Lopez and wife Gaye and by his daughter Rose Marie Hendrickx; grandchildren Mark Ramos and wife Jenny Nicole Brace and husband Robert, Barry Staats and wife Charlene, Kari Staats and Nick J. Lopez; great-grandchildren Scott and Morgan Brace, Jared, Ryan and Annie Ramos and Alyssia Staats.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lopez, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Winters. a funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, 503 California Street, in Woodland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Lopez' name to the Winters Healthcare Foundation, Sutter West Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
ROSE
Thomas T. Rose Jr.
Thomas T. Rose Jr. died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, May 11, 2003, at age 76.
Born Sept. 3, 1926, in Milpitas, Mr. Rose had been a Yolo County resident for 57 years. He graduated from Milpitas School and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council as trustee and treasurer. He was a partner in Rose Valley Produce Co., and farmed in Solano and Yolo counties.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nora Eileen Rose; son, Steven T. Rose Sr. and wife Linda of Clovis; daughter, Debora J. Cox of Woodland; grandchildren, Steven T. Rose Jr. of Woodland, Christopher Rose of Clovis, and Desma Knee and husband Richard of Woodland; and great-grandchildren, Vivian Rose Knee and Eli Thomas Knee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas T. Rose Sr. and Emma V. Rose of Woodland and Milpitas; brother, Ellis W. Rose Sr. and wife Anne of El Macero; and sister, Melba Bettencourt and husband Clarence of El Macero.

Services: A private graveside service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at American Lutheran Church, 1114 College St., Woodland.
ROSEBERRY
Evelyn Vasey Roseberry
Evelyn Vasey Roseberry died at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland on July 27, 1999, at the age of 107. Evelyn was born to Thomas and Annie (Copinger) Vasey in Winters on Dec. 26, 1891, and spent her entire life in that community until moving to Stollwood in Dec. 1997.
Mrs. Roseberry graduated from Winters High School in 1910. She worked at various positions in town until 1917 when she became a clerk at the Winters Post office in 1958 and retired in 1961. She was marriage to James Roseberry in 1952 in Carson City, Nevada. She was the Winters Correspondent for the Woodland Daily Democrat for many years. She served as a board member of the Yolo Red Cross for over 20 years.
Mrs. Roseberry was a devout member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and an avid fund-raiser for the church in past years. She was also a member of the Winters Fortnightly Club, the American Field Service and St. Anthony Altar Society.
Mrs. Roseberry was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Walters and Adeline Islip, and brothers Joe, Jack and Gregory Vasey, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by nieces, Marilyn San Martin of Berkeley, Patricia Manseau of San Francisco, and Betty Coman of Winters; and nephews, Lloyd Islip of Carmichael and Robert Islip of Marysville. Many grand-nieces and grand-nephews also survive.
A memorial service was held at St. Anthony's Center, 511 Main Street at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 31. The following family members participated in the Mass: John Coman, eulogy, Victoria Vasey - readings, and Tom and Justine Pearse - presentation of the gift. Grand-niece Carolyn Heines was the soloist at the Mass, accompanying herself on the guitar. Father Joe Ternullo and Father Bernard Witek, S.D.S. officiated at the service.
The family suggests contributions to St. Anthonys Building Fund, Yolo County Red Cross, St. John Retirement Village Chapel Building Fund or the donor's favorite charity.
ROSENBAUM
Neal Rosenbaum
Neal Rosenbaum died Monday, June 21, 2004, following a four years battling in ALS, at age 57.
Born Feb. 28, 1947, in Orange, Texas, Mr. Rosenbaum spent a majority of his school-age years to the San Francisco Bay Area. In May 1966, he enlisted into the Army and served in Vietnam. He received numerous commendations and medals. He lived and worked on his parents' ranch in Etna for a short while then him and his family settled in Woodland in the early 1970s.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Nadine Rosenbaum; mother, Eleanor Hare and husband Howard of Petaluma; brother, Preston and wife Rene of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Michelle Proctor and husband Jimmy of Lake of the Pines; and son, Mark Rosenbaum and wife Jodi of Woodland. He is also survived by stepchildren, Dawn Whitaker and husband Bill of Dixon, Leigh Hannah of Sacramento and Jim Hannah and wife Trisha of Woodland; nieces, Geri, and Lynette; nephew, Joe; and grandchildren, Amy, Lacey, Corbin, Rachel, Dillon, Emily, Jamie and Eric. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Rosenbaum.
Services: Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service with military honors at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at Placer Hills United Methodist Church, 17250 Placer Hills Road, Meadow Vista. Burial will be held at Colfax Cemetery, Colfax. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Valley of Citrus Heights.
ROSS
Edith Keene Ross
Edith Keene Ross died at Sierra Convalescent Hospital in Davis on May 7, 2005, of pneumonia. She was 92. She formerly was a resident of the Memory House in Davis.
A family graveside service will take place in June.
Born Dec. 10, 1912, in Beverly, Mass., to Amos and Annie Dolliver, she was the oldest of six children. She and her husband moved to Davis 30 years ago to be closer to family.
She was a member of the Women's Organization at Davis Community Church and taught Sunday School. Because of her love of children, she provided day care for dozens of families in her lifetime, both in Massachusetts and California.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Howard I. Ross of Davis; her son, Howard K. Ross and his wife Margaret of Chirton, Wiltshire, England; and her daughter, Judith Schmatjen and husband David of Davis.
She is further survived by her brother, Amos Dolliver of Pueblo West, Colo.; her sister, Amy McRae of Wenham, Mass.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be sent to The Children's Home Society of California, 1337 Howe Ave., Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95825.

Minnie Lee Ross
Minnie Lee Ross died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital in Woodland Friday, June 17, 2005 at age 72.
Mrs. Ross was born Nov. 13, 1932 in Buchanan, Ga. to Arthur and Katherine (Summerville) Payton. For last three years she was a resident of Robbins. She worked as a waitress for 50 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include Mrs. Ross' daughters, Kathy Brandenburg and her husband Dennis of Robbins, Nancy Hensley of Pensacola, Fla., Linda Phelps and her husband Don of Salina, Kan.; her sons, Mike Bell and his wife Lynette and Donny Troutner and his wife Theresa all of Woodward, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joy Shropshire of Twin Falls, Idaho; her brother, Cedar Payton of Jerome, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ross; her daughter, Lynn Troutner; her son, Shannon Troutner and her grandchildren, Jeff Phelps and Barbie Simms.

Services: Private interment services for family members will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, Okla. Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
