BRUNO

Theresa P. Bruno

Theresa P. Bruno, was born on July 12, 1937, in Concrete Washington, the daughter of Leo and Cleo Cardiff.

She was united in marriage in September 1952 to Frank Bruno.

She was a member of St. Martin’s Altar Society.

Mrs. Bruno was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, two brothers, David and Albert Cardiff; and her granddaughter JoAnn Green.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Peak and husband John; grandsons, Michael Peak, Thomas Peak and Steven Peak; granddaughter, Jennifer Peak; and great-grandsons, Steven Peak and Morgan Peak; daughter, Sheryl Bruno; son, Luis Bair and wife Barbara; great-grandson, Hudson Bair; daughter, Terri Bruno; granddaughter, Christy Gilmour; great-grandson, Ryan Gilmour; great-granddaughter, Kimbulyn Gilmour; son, Frank Bruno; grandsons, Casey Bruno and Tony Bruno; granddaughter, Sarah Bruno; daughter, Barbara Haug; granddaughters, Sheryl Marie Pedroia and husband Dale; Katie Scott, and Stacey Scott; grandson, Ricky Scott; great-granddaughter, Kylee Pedroia; son, Ray Bruno and wife Debbie; granddaughters, Joelene Bootkowski & Skye Bruno.

A Catholic vigil will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 7 p.m. at St. Martin’s Church in Esparto.

Funeral services will also be held at St. Martin’s Church on Wednesday, April 21 at 11 a.m.

Burial at Monument Hill followed by a reception at St. Martin’s Church.

Memorials to Catholic Social Service are preferred.

We’ll miss you mom.

STUART

Bertha Lucille Stuart

Bertha Lucille Stuart died in Mercy San Juan Hospital in Sacramento Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at age 89.

Born Jan. 30, 1913, in Lightning Creek, Okla., Mrs. Stuart was the daughter of the late James and Rosetta Dildine. She was a long time resident of Woodland before moving to Sacramento in January. She was a homemaker all of her adult life. She loved doing craft projects, according to family members, with flower arranging as her favorite activity.

Mrs. Stuart is survived by her daughters, Joanne Tschoepe and husband Gene of New Braunsfield, Texas, Joan Caya and husband Earl of Minden, Nev., Dorothy Thomas of Woodland and Darlene Merrifield and husband David of Sacramento; sisters, Alberta Donelson of Collinsville, Okla., Doris Marler of Nowata, Okla., and Colleene Schmidt of Eugene, Ore.; sisters-in-law, Ermal Dildine of Bartlesville, Okla. and Erabelle Dildine of Collinsville, Okla.

Also surviving her are 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stuart was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil D. Stuart in Dec. 6, 2001; sister, Hazel Burch and brothers, Arlie Dildine and James Dildine Jr.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, in McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.

A funeral service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at the Church of the Nazarene, 100 Woodland Ave. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

STUCKEY

Lynn Karen Stuckey

Lynn Karen Stuckey of Woodland died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005 at age 56.

Mrs. Stuckey was born Sept. 10, 1948 in Modesto. She had been a Yolo County resident for 36 years. She attended schools in Modesto and later worked as a cashier for 25 years.

Survivors include Mrs. Stuckey's husband of 36 years, Archie Stuckey; her daughter, Bobbie Wilson; her son, Jerry Blakley and his wife Carrie; and her grandchildren, Max, Timothy, Lexsus, Pamela, Alex and Brooks. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn; her father, Frank; and her brother, Gerald.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Stuckey name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Victory Tabernacle in Knights Landing with Reverend Jimmy McLean officiating. National Cremation Service of Fair Oaks is assisting the family with arrangements.

STUEFLOTEN

Oney Pearl 'Cookie' Stuefloten

Oney Pearl "Cookie" Stuefloten died at her home in Ninilchik, Alaska Monday, April 4, 2005 at age 86.

Mrs. Stuefloten was born March 31, 1919 to Eddie Ray and Oney Pearl Justice in Tulsa, Okla. A former Yolo County resident, she has resided in Ninilchik, Alaska since 1968. She was a housewife.

Survivors include Mrs. Stuefloten's husband of 51 years, Albert Stuefloten of Ninilchik, Alaska; her daughters, Inez Hill and her husband Dave of Sacramento and Candie Lee Hubert of Woodland; her grandchildren, Kyle and Megan Sears of Soldotna, Alaska, Kirsten and Chris Patrick of California, Kurt and Keith Hill both of Sacramento, Roger and Cathy Herman of Anchorage, Alaska, Laura Graham of Arkansas and William Hubert of California and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbera Lee Herman.

Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Stuefloten, no services are scheduled. Peninsula Memorial Chapels in Kenai, Alaska is assisting the family with arrangements.

STUKE

William E. Stuke

William E. 'Bill' Stuke of Gridley, 89, died in the arms of his daughter, Joann Stuke Diethrich, on March 8, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco.

His son, Paul William Stuke of Carson City, Nev., was also at his bedside during his long battle with congestive heart disease.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1910, in Sacramento.

Internationally known for his work with the walnut industry, Stuke was honored in 1989 by UC Davis for his contributions to the university the previous 25 years. UCD honored him by dedicating the Winters Wolfskill Experimental Orchard to him.

He also received honors from the California Legislature for ``demonstrating his commitment to the educational and agricultural research mission of the University of California and to the considerable benefit to the people of the state of California.'

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recognized him for his ``untiring and outstanding support of walnut research programs of crop pathology and genetics research unit.'

Although not active in business the last 10 years due to his failing health, in 1996 he initiated and funded the William E. Stuke Walnut Research Fellowship at UCD for graduate students conducting walnut research to benefit walnut growers.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 49 years, Helen Keefer Stuke; and four loving sisters, Mary Walsh, Ann Rae, Katie Corbin and Janie Stuart.

He is survived by his children; his youngest sister, Rose Widmer of Walnut Creek; six grandchildren, Annette Magagna, Douglas Osborne, Robertson Marquardt, Jennifer Richardson, David and William Stuke; seven great-grandchildren; eight nephews; three nieces; and two cousins and their families, William Katich and Donna Brochier of the Bay Area.

A memorial service is planned Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Gridley. Immediately following the services, friends and family are invited to come to the Stuke home for a luncheon at 1463 Highway 99, Gridley.

Following his wishes, there will be no graveside service.

STUMPF

John Stumpf

John Stumpf died on Jan. 19, 2000, at Alderson's Convalescent Hospital in Woodland. Born on Jan. 22, 1908, in Fruita, Colo., to the late Phillip and Anna Stumpf, he was 91.

A resident of Yolo County for 35 years, he was a rancher in Colorado and the Capay Valley for many years. He was employed by J. Bailey as an operating engineer for 15 years, was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and loved gardening.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Stumpf; granddaughter, Susan Gentry; two sisters; and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Stumpf of Woodland; children, Arleen Fielder and her husband Duane of Newport, Wash., Ken Stumpf of McCloud, and Ron Stumpf and his wife Kay of Grangeville, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Kathryn Hill and her husband Jim of San Jose; sister, Ruth Schafer of Woodland; brothers, Adam Stumpf of Fort Collins, Colo., Harold Stumpf and his wife Louella of Johnstown, Colo., and Herman Stumpf and his wife Hattie of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McNary's Chapel in Woodland. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodland. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
