Memorial service for Rose Lombard Gerry
A memorial service was held recently at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester, Minnesota, for Rose Lombard Gerry, 96. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Mrs. Gerry was born in Wykoff, Minnesota, Jan. 6, 1894. She died in Woodland, California, March 12, 1990.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Gerry was employed as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She marriage Edgar Gerry in Rochester in 1917. They homesteaded in Glasgow, Montana, and raised their children there. She moved to Winters four years ago and was a resident of Woodland at the time of her death.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Fredericks of Winters; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Beth Witz of Delray Beach, Florida, and Nona Henry of Plattsville, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1968; a daughter, Nadean Danielson; a son, James Lombard Gerry, one sister and two brothers.
The family suggests that memorials can be made to the Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 202 Russell Street, Winters, or to the donor's favorite charity.
CALDER
Peter C. Calder
Peter C. CALDER, another old-time resident of this county, passed away at his home near here yesterday morning. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and a prominent member of the Grand Army. He was a native of Edinburg, Scotland, and 57 years of age. He came to California in 1853.

Rebecca Louise Caldwell
Rebecca Louise Caldwell died in Woodland Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at age 49. She was born on Dec. 19, 1954 and was a native of Woodland.
Survivors include her mother, Doris W. Caldwell of La Selva Beach; brothers, Steven D. Caldwell of Exeter, and Thomas D. Caldwell of Sacramento; and sister, Patricia C. Reddoch of Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95616. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: There will be a private memorial service for family.
CALI
George J. Cali
George J. Cali died Feb. 7, 2004, in Sacramento. Born on July 22, 1927, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was 76 years old.
He attended Bensenhurst High School in New York and earned his bachelor's degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines. Upon his return to the United States in 1949, he traveled extensively in the Middle East, Europe and Latin America as an automotive parts sales manager. While on assignment in Argentina, he met his wife of 34 years, Juana P.D. de Cali, whom he marriage in New York in 1958.
In 1959, the family settled in Brazil, where he spent 19 years managing his own automotive parts importing company. In 1978, they moved back to the United States and settled in Davis, where he established his own wholesale automotive parts company, Perfect Fit Imports Inc., which he managed until his death.
For the last 12 years, he also volunteered as a Portuguese and Spanish teacher at International House, Davis, where he was honored in 1999.
His life centered around his family, and he put all his energy in making sure his children received the best education available. He will be fondly remembered for his gentle manner and unpretentious wisdom, his family said, and missed dearly by family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Resa Cali; his children, Cristina Cali of Mexico City, Mexico, George Cali Jr., John Cali of Gainesville, Fla., and Connard Cali of Davis; his grandchildren, Amanda Cali, Yannick Cali, Lauren Cali-Olss and Jamie Cali-Olss.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Church, 200 W. 14th St. in Davis. A reception will follow the memorial service.

CALLISON
Billy Callison
Billy Callison died Jan. 29, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness. Born on Dec. 23, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was 73.
A Vacaville resident for 53 years, he was a painting contractor for 26 years. He loved to hunt and fish, and also to paint.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Devin.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Callison; three daughters, Carlye Rose of Alaska, Debra Smith of Alaska and Judy Painter of Vacaville; son, Audie Callison of Vacaville; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Inurnment will follow.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Ruth E. Callison
Ruth Callison services today
Funeral services for Ruth E. Callison, 76, of Allendale, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the McCune Garden Chapel, Vacaville.
Mrs. Callison, a former resident of Winters, died Saturday in a Fairfield hospital. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Winters. The deceased was a native of Oklahoma and had lived in this area for the past 43 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Marquetta Constant of Alaska and Linda Stewart of Vacaville; three sons, Robert and Billy Callison of Vacaville, and Terry Callison of Winters; three sisters, Mary Fields of Stockton, Opal Paddock of Arizona and Maxine Northheart of Washington; three brothers, Buck Chamblin of New Mexico, Murmet Chamblin of Colorado and Calvin Chamblin of California; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Shandra Kay Callison
Shandra Callison was tragically taken on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000 in Winters, California. Born on Dec. 25, 1975, in Woodland, California, she was 24 years old.
Shandra graduated from Winters High School. After high school, she attended American River College in Sacramento for two years and studied to be a paralegal. She worked for the last year at Travis Federal Credit Union in Vacaville.
Shandra is survived by her mother, Laura Crespo of Winters and step-father, John E. Crespo of Winters; her son, Justin A. Hadley of Winters; her grandmother Lula Callison of Winters; brother, Edward Callison of Winters; sisters, Wilma D. Callison of Woodland and Kerri Crespo of Sacramento; aunt Lorraine Kay Underwood of Portland, Oregon; Nephew, Joshua McGee of Davis and nieces Jessica McGee of Woodland and Jordan Steinsberger of Sacramento; cousin and best friend, Laura Graves of Dixon.
A funeral service was held on Friday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. at the Lighthouse Christian Church in Winters. Burial followed the services at the Winters Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel in Winters.

Velma B. Callison
Velma Callison dies August 9
Velma Beatrice Callison, who was born in Scammon, Kansas, January 25, 1912, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1988 at the Woodland Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Callison who moved to Winters in 1942 and was a homemaker all her adult life, was the widow of Rev. W. H. Callison, who died at Davis Nov. 12, 1972.
She is survived by their children: Gary Callison of Winters; Betty Bickham of Winters; Wilma Dean Quintero of Vacaville, Don Callison of Vacaville, Jack Callison of Oxnard. Another son, Arthur Callison, died February 29, 1988.
Also surviving Mrs. Callison is her brother, Melvin Gwin of Delhi, California, and five sisters: Sadie Spence of Cleveland, Oklahoma; Ruby Fish of Randle, Washington; Florence McLaughlin of Winters; Ruth Adams of Flint, Texas; and Virginia Miller of Cleveland, Oklahoma.
In addition, Mrs. Callison is survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Callison was a long time member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Winters.
Visitation will be today, Aug. 11, from 509 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service Friday, Aug. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at the Freewill Baptist Church at Haven and Edwards streets, with burial to follow at the Winters Cemetery.
