James Kenneth Smith
James Kenneth Smith died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Monday, June 28, 2004, at age 63.
Born Aug. 10, 1940, in Hollywood, Mr. Smith had been a four-year Yolo County resident.
Services: Interment is scheduled at Woodland Cemetery's Public Guardian monument. North Sacramento Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Joy Lorraine Smith
Joy Lorraine Smith died in her Woodland home Saturday, April 19, 2003, at age 80.
Born April 26, 1922, in Ladysmith, Wis., Mrs. Smith had been a Yolo County resident for 34 years. She was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Mildred (Witsleb) Stanton. She worked for Woodland Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse for 35 years.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Harlan L. Smith; son, Mark A. Smith of Sacramento; and daughter, Sandra Smith and husband Peter C. Hubbard of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; granddaughters, Iris and Vanessa Hubbard of Mt. Vernon; brother, William Stanton of Afton, Va.; niece, Carla Martindale of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Ms. Betty Bailey of Huntington Beach.
The family requests memorials be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617, in her behalf. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: No visitation is scheduled prior to the services. A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
SMITH
Kermit Christian Smith, Sr.
Kermit Christian Smith Sr. died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at age 81.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 22, 1924 in Pearson, Ark. He had been a Yolo County resident for 36 years. He was a high school graduate and served one year in the U.S. Navy. He had a 30-year career with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of chief warrant officer 3. After retiring, he worked for 10 years as a tour bus operator for senior citizens. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, ombudsman, and a member of the NRA, VFW Post 1985 and Dixon Boat Club.
Survivors include Mr. Smith's wife of 58 years, Ida Mae Smith of Woodland; his sons, Kermit C. Smith Jr. and his wife Sharon of Woodland, Ernest L. Smith and his wife Deborah of Benicia; his grandchildren, Bryan C. Smith and his wife Tiffany of Citrus Heights and Gillian M. Smith of Benicia; his sisters, Wanda Pedroia and her husband Melvin of Woodland and Patsy Vorce of Vancouver, Wash.; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Smith of Woodland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde F. Smith and Verbal Kramer; his brother, Clyde Roland Smith and his brother-in-law, Richard Vorce.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Smith's name be directed to the donor's favorite charity.
Services: A graveside service with full military honors is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Monument Hill Memorial Park. The Masonic Lodge will officiate. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
SMITH
Lloyd Haskell Smith
Born Feb. 6, 1928. Entered into God's care Feb. 4, 2005. For 45 years, a loving and devoted husband to Norma Jean Nichols Smith. Survived by two sons: Lewis Meline and family of Roseville, Brian Smith and family of Brentwood; sisters: June Eubanks and family of Fallbrook, Carolyn Martin Davis of Phelan and Linda Joyce Hart of Trinidad, Colo.; brother John Duane Martin of Abilene, Texas and a very special niece, Cynthia Eubanks of Fallbrook. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He also toured with several country and western bands as a steel guitarist and was one of the members of "Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys." Later he pursued a career with Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. and retired in 1992 as an R&D Engineering Specialist.
For many years Lloyd enjoyed golfing, trout fishing and caring for his vegetable garden.
Services: A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 434 Cleveland St., Woodland. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Chapel of the Valley is assisting the family with arrangements.
SMITH
M. Arline Smith
M. Arline Smith died Jan. 27, 2006. A Davis resident for four years, she was 83.
A celebration of her life begins at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oddfellows Hall, 415 Second St. in downtown Davis.
Born Feb. 20, 1922, she grew up on a ranch near Great Falls, Mont. She came to California in 1945. She was employed at Lockheed-Martin in Sunnyvale where she worked as a dispatcher in the maintenance department and as a union steward. She retired after 28 years with the company.
Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf, working in her garden, painting and traveling with friends. She was an active member of the Davis International Order of Odd Fellows Yolo Lodge 169 and Rebekah Lodge 253.
She is survived by two children, Tom Allen and his wife Cindy of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Leslie Patti and her husband Joe of Davis; her brother, Roger Nelson and his wife Lois of Belt, Mont.; her sister, Eleanor Hess and her husband Robert of San Carlos; four grandchildren, Tony Patti, Caroline Patti and her husband John Hesse and Andrea and Eric Allen; and two great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Madelyn Hesse.
She is further survived by four nieces, one nephew and other family members.
SMITH
Marcia L. Smith
Marcia Leslee Smith died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at the Palo Alto home of her eldest son. She was born in Monte Vista, Colo. on May 6, 1928, to the late Leslie and Isabelle Dunnells. She was 72.
She had lived in Davis since 1989. She graduated from UC Berkeley and went on to teach kindergarten for 20 years at Gomes School in Fremont. As a teacher, she impacted many lives.
She had many hobbies including traveling to destinations around the world and spending time with her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1969, and her son Alan Jon Smith, in 1991. She is survived by three sons, Marshall Joseph Smith and wife Cathy of Palo Alto; Stuart Wayne Smith and wife Debbie of Jackson; and Steven Lyle Smith and his wife of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Vera AIlson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday. Friends may attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Davis United Methodist Church, 1620 Anderson Road. Donations may be made in Mrs. Smith's name to the cancer charity of the donor's choice.
SMITH
Margaret Laverne Smith
Margaret Laverne Smith died peacefully in Woodland on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003. Born in Woodland, March 18, 1925. She attended Woodland schools.
She earned her registered nursing degree through Samuel Merritt Hospital in Oakland. She had been a resident of Yolo County for most of her life, moving to Fort Bragg 15 years ago.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Henry Smith; daughters, Margaret Perry and Susan Smith, all of Fort Bragg, Barbara Vest and husband Dennis of Woodland; son, Philip Smith and wife Susan of Fort Bragg and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Leslie and Alex Vest of Woodland.
She is also survived by brothers, William Oliver and George Oliver and sisters, Barbara Agnew, all of Woodland.
Preceding her in death was a son, Brian Smith; and brother, Joe Oliver Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 434 Cleveland St., Woodland.
