Sadye Eleanor Pearson Petersen
Sadye Peterson of Dixon died on Christmas Eve [12/24/2005] at home on her ranch after a long and active life. She was 96.
A memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon, followed by a celebration of life reception at the Dixon Moose Lodge.
Born Sadye Eleanor Pearson in 1909 in Maxwell to an old Colusa County pioneer family, she grew up on a ranch west of Woodland. She had two twin sisters, Betty Glide and Peggy Williams Hudson, and three brothers - Peter Pearson, who went into the military, and Bryant and Bill Pearson, who attended UC Davis and introduced her to her husband-to-be, Harry Petersen, another Aggie from a pioneer Dixon family.
After marrying in 1931, she lived on their ranch south of Dixon. She was active in many organizations, including the Home Economics Department of the Dixon May Fair, Ladies Aid, Women's Improvement Club, Eastern Star, Mother Adviser to the Rainbow Girls, Bo-Peeps, California Wool Growers Association, Dixon Historical Society, Solano County Historical Society, the Green Valley Country Club, The Mayflower Society, The Dixon Dance Club and The A.M. Lecture Club.
She played bridge with the same group for more than 50 years and held the committee meetings for her Lausten-Pearson Family Annual Picnic, and attended the picnic for every one of her 96 years.
Her family says she loved company and her home was always open. She enjoyed entertaining and was known for her dinners and her tea parties. She loved her grandchildren and was very active in their lives.
She was an avid camper and spent many years deer hunting, dove hunting and duck hunting with Harry. She was said to have a good shot, getting a few rabid skunks in her time. She grew up on horseback and loved to ride. In her later years, she loved to travel.
She is survived by her three children, Sadye Reddick of Davis, Harriette Davis of Rio Vista and Patricia Petersen of Dixon; and 11 grandchildren, Rand Reddick, Steve Reddick, Sharold Violette, twins Yvonne Read and Leslie Reddick, Denise Davis, Donn Davis, Dale Davis, Douglas Davis, Danette Davis and Danalyn Davis.
She is further survived by 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ambrocio Rosendo 'Ross' Jimenez
Ambrocio Rosendo "Ross" Jimenez died in Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System on Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at age 60.
Born April 1, 1944, in Firebaugh, Mr. Jimenez had been a Woodland resident for 10 years, then he moved to Soledad, where he spent the rest of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Baudelina Jimenez; son, Sal Jimenez; daughter, Lisa (Jimenez) Tafoya and husband Sal; grandson, Rikki Tafoya; sisters, Concha Garcia, Margaret Perez, Emma, Monica and Lydia Jimenez; and brothers, Frank, Simon and Cookie Jimenez.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitehurst Terry Funeral Home of Soledad.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Friday, April 9 at Whitehurst Terry Funeral Chapel of Soledad, with a rosary to follow. A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, at Our Lady of Solitude Church, Soledad. Burial will be at Gonzales Cemetery.

Jeffrey Scott Howell
Jeffrey Scott Howell was born on July 15, 1966 in Concord, Ca. He passed away on Friday, April 2, 2004 at his resident in Woodland, Ca., at age 37.
He was a Woodland resident for the past 33 years. Jeffrey attended Woodland schools, Beamer grammar, Lee Jr. High, and graduated from Woodland High School. He enjoyed spending time with his brother, collecting Matchbox and Hotwheel cars, watching Football, Boxing and old movies on TV. Jeffrey was also quit the artist and loved listening to Rock and Roll music.
Survivors include his parents, Mervyn and Betty Howell; brother, William Lee Howell, all of Woodland; grandmothers, Ercie Lytal of Arbuckle, Oleta Kalfsbeek of Williams; uncles, Robert Lytal and Tony Lytal, both of Arbuckle; aunts, Johnnie Wright of Boger, Texas, and Glenda Gustafson of Grimes; niece, Melissa Howell of Woodland; and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Jeffrey's life will be held graveside on Thursday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at the Arbuckle Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Jeffrey's name to the American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road Burlingame, Ca. 94010.
Services are under the direction of McNary-Moore Funeral Service of Colusa.

Febronio Q. Jimenez, "El Pajaro, " passed away on June 13, 2004. He was born on June 25, 1933 in Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico.
A Funeral Mass was held at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, in Winters on Monday, June 21, 2004.
JIMENEZ
Jose Jimenez
Jose Jimenez, long-time resident of the Winters community, passed away at his home last Saturday afternoon with his family at his side. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Jimenez was born June 10, 1922 in Atoyac, Jalisco, MX, to Inez and Angela Jimenez. He came to Winters in 1971 with his wife and children and began working as a farm laborer for various Winters' employers. He had a great knowledge of various crops and orchards and was a valuable asset and hard worker throughout his life. He was described as a very honorable and giving man and was well liked and respected by his community. He was also a kind and simple man who would do anything to help his family or neighbors in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Jimenez is survived by his wife Esparanza of Winters and his children, Maria Concepcion and her husband Roberto of Winters, Tony Jimenez and his wife Bertha of Winters, Jose Alfredo Jimenez of Winters, Silvia Torres of Winters, Guadalupe Campos and her husband Gustavo of Winters, Hilda Campos and her husband Arturo of Williams and Enrique Jimenez and his wife Patty of Winters. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Silvia, Janet, Marlene and Roberto Jr. Concepcion of Winters; Tony Jr., David, Luis Manuel, Fernando and Gabriel Jimenez of Winters; Ricardo, Jose, Julio, Patricia and Roberto Jimenez of Dixon; Sergio and Javier Torres of Winters; Christina, Lorenz and Vanessa Campos of Williams and Isabella, Andres and Anthony Jimenez of Winters.
He was preceded in death by his two sons Luis and Manuel Jimenez.
Friends were invited to a vigil service on Tuesday, July 23, and a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 24, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, followed by burial at The Winters Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.

Maria Rosalia Jimenez
Maria Rosalia Jimenez died in Sacramento Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at age 46.
Ms. Jimenez was born Feb. 24, 1958 in Sacramento. She had been a Yolo County resident for 46 years. She worked as a certified nurse's aide in the Woodland area.
Survivors include Ms. Jimenez's daughters, Alma Aragon of Sacramento, Andrea Rivera of Woodland, Angela Rivera, Selinda Rivera and Graciela Rivera all of West Sacramento and 10 grandchildren. She is further survived by her parents, Benjamin and Rita Jimenez; her boyfriend, Ricardo Torres of West Sacramento; her ex-husband, Miguel Rivera of Woodland; her sisters, Leticia Gaitan of West Sacramento and Belinda Diaz and her brother, Benjamin Jimenez Jr. She was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Angel Cruz Romo and Selinda Trinity Melbourne.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at River Cities Funeral Chapel, 910 Soule St., West Sacramento. Cremains will be returned to her mother. River Cities Funeral Chapel of West Sacramento is assisting the family with arrangements.

Selina De La Fuente Jimenez
Selina De La Fuente Jimenez died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital in Woodland Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at age 86.
Mrs. Jimenez was born in Cruillas, Tamaulipas, Mexico April 5, 1918 to Napoleon and Alvina (De La Garza) De La Fuente. She had been a Yolo County resident for 45 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include Mrs. Jimenez's sons, Robert Jimenez and his companion Diana of Bakersfield, Rudy Jimenez and his wife Lupita of Yuba City and Rogelio Jimenez and his wife Aurora; her daughter-in-law, Silvia Jimenez all of Woodland; her grandchildren, Robert Jimenez Jr. and his wife Harriett, Liandro Jimenez, Richard Jimenez and his wife Joni, Joe Muņoz Jr. and his wife Jessika, Linda Fuentes and her husband Lupe, Anthony Jimenez, Corina Jimenez, Alberto Jimenez and his wife Jessica, Christina Jimenez and Marcos Jimenez; her sisters, Barbarita Barba of Elsa, Texas, Lydia Rodriguez of Arvin, and Paola Montelongo of San Benito, Texas; her brothers, Florentino De La Fuente of Colusa and Noe Conde of Santa Rosa, Texas and numerous, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcos Jimenez; her daughter, Idolina Jimenez Muņoz; her son, Napoleon Jimenez and her brothers, Napoleon De La Fuente and Baltazar De La Fuente.

Services: A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22 at Kraft Bros. Funeral Home Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 29 Elliot St., Woodland with Pastor Roman Leal officiating. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
