In Winters, Wednesday, March 12th, 1879, Mary Janette Sweitzer; aged 24 years.
Mrs. Mary Janette Sweitzer, wife of Mr. Chafe Sweitzer, died at Winters, on Wednesday last of consumption, after a lingering illness. The funeral took place from the Methodist Church South, on Thursday afternoon, and was quite largely attended.
SWENSON
Bonni L. Swenson
Bonni L. Swenson, part owner of S.O.S. Reprographics in Antioch, died on Jan. 30, 2000, in Oakley. Born on Aug. 29, 1946, she was 53.
She was raised in Davis and was a native of Denver. She lived in Oakley for 21 years.
She enjoyed golf, gardening, hiking, wood crafts and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Richard Swenson; two daughters, Stacie Reagan and Susan Van Tuyl; son-in-law, Casey Van Tuyl; stepson, Mark Swenson; two grandchildren, Michael and Stephanie; five sisters, Sharon Brummels, Nancy Denney, Dianna Grissom, Karen Crowe and Mary Wyman; two brothers, David Jerrett and Raymond Jerrett; and two aunts, Ellen Parker and Hellen Blevins.
A celebration of Bonni's life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Contra Costa, 2051 Harrison St., Concord, CA 94520.
SWETT
Constance L. Swett
Constance L. Swett died at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at age 91.
Born Jan. 13, 1913, in San Francisco, Mrs. Swett graduated from Sequoia High School in Redwood City. She was a Woodland residents from 1951 to 1962 and lived in Sacramento until her death. She retired from Cal Trans Lab in Sacramento.
Survivors include her sons, Dan Swett and wife Vicki of Woodland, Michael Swett and wife Cathy of Sacramento.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Swett no services are scheduled.
SWETZ-LEONARD
Marcella Edith Swetz-Leonard
Marcella Edith Swetz-Leonard died at Woodland Memorial Hospital in Woodland Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004 at age 79.
Mrs. Swetz-Leonard was born Jan. 16, 1925 in Sherry, Wis. to the late Lloyd and Theresa Lobner Fruin and had been a Yolo County resident for two years.
Survivors include Mrs. Swetz-Leonard's husband Arthur Leonard of Suffolk, Va., daughters, Beverly Hartman and her husband Edward of Hampshire, Ill., Sharon Sleeper and her husband John of Cripple Creek, Colo. and Kim Ehresman and her husband Bryan of Woodland, sons Dennis Swetz and his wife Rose of the Philippines and Dean Swetz and his wife Debbie of Algonquin, Ill. She is also survived by her sisters Pat Stuehler, Marlene Furo and Ethel Passer, her brothers Lloyd and George Fruin all of Wisconsin, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband Harold A. Swetz, sister Marie Fruin and brother Bill Fruin.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 23 in Cary, Ill. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
SWINGLE
Frederick L. Swingle
Frederick L. Swingle, born on August 3, 1918, in Roundup, Montana, passed away on April 19, 2005 in Vacaville at the age of 86.
Mr. Swingle served for three and a half years in the Army in World War II where he was stationed in Australia. After he returned, he graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Education from Montana State College. In 1946 he marriage his wife June, and in 1949 they traveled to Alaska where they resided for forty years. While in Alaska he worked on Fort Richardson and on the North Slope. He had many interests throughout his life including rock hounding, gold prospecting, and traveling. He managed to visit countries on six continents and enjoyed meeting people wherever he went.
In 1989 he and his wife relocated to Newcastle and in 2002 they moved to Winters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Carrie Swingle, and his brother, Lester. Mr. Swingle is survived by his wife, June, daughter Karla and husband John Knabke; and grandsons, Brent and Lyle of Winters. He is also survived by his brother, Alfred of Tehachapi, sisters, Ruth of Edmonton, Alberta, and Rose of Ladner, B.B. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Winters Cemetery.
SWINK
Randal Owen Swink, Jr.
Randall Owen Swink, Jr. (Randy), passed away on Nov. 22, 2005, at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, after a long battle with diabetes. Born on March 12, 1961, in Woodland, he was 44 years old. Randy grew up in Winters. He loved people, children, dogs, fishing and spending time with his beloved daughter, Ashleigh, of whom he was extremely proud. Randy was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend.
Randy is survived by his parents, Randall and Barbara Swink, Sr., of Winters; children Randall Swink, III, of Minnesota, Kira Taute, of Washington, and Ashleigh Swink, of Winters; brother Phillip Swink, and his wife, Sue, of Winters; sister Kimberly Galabasa, and her husband, Celestino, and their children Klarice, Celestino and Beau Galabasa, all of Winters. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Winters Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made in his name to the Diabetes Foundation.
SWISHER
Tex E. Swisher
Tex Swisher, a resident of Davis for the past 46 years, died Feb. 19, 2005, at Sutter Davis Hospital. He was 90.
Born Jan. 26, 1915, in Danville, Ill., to Fred and Olive (Gravat) Swisher, he was raised in Illinois and came to California, settling in Davis in 1959. He worked for many years as a truck driver delivering freight all over the United States. He once said that he had delivered freight in every state except Connecticut.
During his career he also worked as a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines.
His family said he loved trains and would sit at the train station in Davis to watch the trains arrive. He once wrote a letter to Amtrak asking if he could ride in a locomotive. Some time later, Amtrak made his dream come true and let him ride in the locomotive with the engineers from Davis to Reno and back.
He was described as a family-oriented man and was very proud that before his death there were five generations of the Swisher family alive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Swisher, in April 1977; a son, Robert E. Swisher, in 1988; a brother, Stanley M. Swisher; and sisters, Arlena Rae and Mildred Moore.
He is survived by his children, Jon K. Swisher of Lake Tahoe; Billy Lee Swisher of Danville, Ill.; Patricia Ann Walton of Danville, Ill; stepson, James Freed of Shipshewana, Ind.; and stepdaughter, Elsie Jean Minier of Goshen, Ind.
He is further survived by his brother, Don D. Swisher of Davis; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at the Davis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to the Salvation Army.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
