Pearl E. Burton
Pearl E. Burton died in her Woodland home on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, following a short illness. Born in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Pearl E. Fillmore and John Norris. Pearl was a Yolo County resident for 10 years. She was the widow of Jack C. Burton Sr.
Pearl is survived by three sons, Richard and Debbie Dunbar of Red Bluff, Conrad Wilson of Woodland and Jack Burton Jr. of Brockton, Mass. She is also survived by daughter, Edith P. Dunbar of Newinton, Conn.; stepdaughters, Debbie Smith of Suisun, Barbara Powell of Fairfield, Darlene Caywood of Colorado; brother, Charles Butler of Enfield, Conn.; sisters, Phyllis Bailey of Vacaville, and Patricia Hecker of Boynton Beach, Fla. Other survivors include 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Woodland United Fellowship Church, 240 N. West St., Woodland.
The Neptune Society of Northern California is assisting the family with arrangements.
BURTON
Russell P. Burton, Jr.
Russell P. Burton Jr. known in his youth as "Red" passed away in his home on June 8, 2005. Born April 10, 1942 a native of Sacramento. A loving and devoted husband of 42 years to wife Jennie. A loving father to daughter Kathleen and husband Jeff DeFevere, son Raymond and daughter-in-law Kimberly, daughter Lisa Burton and daughter Angelic Campos and son-in-law Miguel Campos II. Proud grandfather to Johnny Burton, Joshua Burton, Robert and Michael Landers, Ashley and Taylor DeFevere, Miguel III and Jose Campos. Loving brother to Wayne and Lorraine Cowin. He was enlisted in the USMC at the age of 17 and proud to say once a Marine always a Marine. He retired after 30 years of service to PG&E in 1994. He will be remembered for his generosity, humor, commitment to his family, and his love for his wife. Esther Estella Buse (1st of 2 obituaries)
Esther Estella Buse peacefully passed away May 29, 2005 at Enloe Hospital in Chico at the age of 75. Esther was born Feb. 11, 1930 in Bell Fouche, S.D. to Stella and Harlie Dillon. She was a resident of Woodland for the past 54 years and graduated from Woodland High School in 1947. Esther worked for Bank of America and River City Bank in Woodland before retiring, later enjoying being a home interior representative and a great senior care giver. She loved painting and participating in her painting classes. Woodworking and showing her flowering cactus were also passions she had.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years William Buse, sons Micail Buse, David Buse and wife Debbie, Richard Buse, daughter Jennie and her husband George Sandoval. Brother Don Dillon and his wife Sylvia.
Her grandchildren include Killian Buse, Chris Juarez, Shalynn Taylor, Adam Juarez, Aliester Olen, Samantha Juarez, Jordan Buse and Kaitlynn Buse.
Great-grandchildren are Kaylee and Joey Buse.
Esther was preceded in death by her sister Scarlet "Olive" Brengle, brothers, Ivan, Archie, Vernon and Buddy Dillon, triplet sons Dan, Don and Dean Buse, parents Stella and Harlie Dillon.
There will be a celebration of her life at their home, 18 Northwood Drive, Woodland, Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a prayer given at 1 p.m. by Pastor Leroy Dillon.

BUTLER
Gertrude S. Butler
Gertrude S. Butler age 85, died February 8, 2003 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Woodland, after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born May 27, 1917 in Calistoga, to Robert Walker Stratton and Verne Newman Stratton. She was proud that she was a third generation Californian. Her great-grandfather was first surveyor general of California, appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant.
She was marriage in 1936 to Vernon H. Adams, Postmaster at Livingston, Ca. They had a daughter, Carol Verne Asher, who resides in Medford, Ore. Upon his death in 1942, she was appointed Postmaster and served in that position until 1945.
She marriage Lloyd W. Butler in 1944. They had a daughter, Marilyn L. Lammers, who resides in Woodland. The career moves of her husband Lloyd, who was employed by the Bank of America, took them to various locations in Northern California. His last move was to Chico, where they lived for over 30 years. After his death in 1993, she remained living in Chico until December 2001, when she moved to Woodland to be near her daughter Marilyn and family.
Always an active volunteer, she was president of the MEE Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in King City, where they resided for seven years. In Chico, she was a volunteer for the family service discovery shoppe and the American Cancer Society "Reach for Recovery" for over 25 years. She was a long time member of the Butte Creek Country Club and served as Captain of the Women’s Club in 1976. She attended the Aldersgate Methodist Church in Chico until her move to Woodland.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Vernon H. Adams in 1942; and her husband Lloyd W. Butler of 49 years in 1993.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Asher and companion Don Doty of Medford, Ore., and Marilyn Lammers and husband Don of Woodland; grandchildren, Jeffrey Asher and wife Bennie of North Carolina, Julie Lipelt and husband Robbie of Woodland, Michelle Cannan of Woodland, John Lammers and wife Julie of Tennessee; and six great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves a sister, Nellie Budd of Jamestown, Ca. and a brother, Robert Stratton of Glenallen, Alaska.
A graveside service will be held at the family plot in St. Helena, Ca. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at 2 p.m.
The family requests donations be made to Yolo Hospice at P.O. Box 1014, Davis 95617. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
BUTLER
Minnie Frances Butler
Minnie Frances Butler of Meridian died on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at age 78.
Born in McPherson, Kan., Mrs. Butler had been a Sutter County resident for 50 years. She was a homemaker and helping his husband in their farm business. She was a representative of Mary Kay Cosmetic in Woodland and Knights Landing.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Leslie A. Butler; daughters, Dianne Butler of Meridian, and Bonnie Hatfield and husband Bob of Brownsville; grandchildren, Angela Walker of Kirkville, Paul Hatfield of Yuba City, Shari Dixon of Santa Rosa, and Mike Hatfield of Meridian; and great-grandchildren, Cori and Emma Walker, Mason Hatfield, Rachel and Jason Hatfield and Logan Dixon.
The family requests memorials be directed to Sutter North Hospice, 480 Plumas St., Yuba City, 95991. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Yuba City.
Services: Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Sutter Cemetery.
DACHTLER
Barbara Lorraine Dachtler
Barbara Lorraine Dachtler died at her home in Woodland on Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at age 71.
Mrs. Dachtler was born June 24, 1934 in St. Helena. She had been a Yolo County resident for 60 years. She graduated from Esparto High School in 1952 and was the salutatorian of her class. She worked as a bank representative - first with American Trust, which later became Wells Fargo, then later with Bank of America, retiring after 38 years. She was a charter member of the Pedro Club, member of the Venture Club of Woodland, Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club, Esparto High Lunch Bunch and Woodland Volunteer Fireman's Support Branch. She was a 47-year member of American Lutheran Church, where she was chairwoman of Project 200, spring luncheon, craft fair/luncheon and rummage sale, property chairwoman for the church council and Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include Mrs. Dachtler's husband of 47 years, Clifford R. Dachtler of Woodland; her daughter, Lori Jarvey and her husband Richard; her son, Tim Dachtler and his wife Julie; her grandchildren, Jessica and Melissa Jarvey, Jonathan, Kristen and Lawrence Dachtler, all of Woodland; her mother, Constance Reis and her husband Ronnie Reis of Woodland; her sister, Gail Edgington and her husband David of Woodland; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil B. Maxwell; her in-laws, Karoline and Robert Dachtler Sr.; and her brother-in-law Robert Dachtler Jr.

A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at American Lutheran Church, 1114 College St., Woodland with Pastor Vernon Holmes officiating. Interment will be at Monument Hill Memorial Park. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
DACHTLER
Freda Dachtler
Freda Dachtler died on March 5, 2005, at Sutter Davis Hospital. She was 94 years old.
A memorial service begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Faith Lutheran Church, 1801 Oak Ave. in Davis. Private burial will be at the Davis Cemetery.
Born March 20, 1910, In Elgin, N.D., to William and Magdalina Ottmar, she came to Davis in 1955 and became a member of Our Faith Lutheran Church. She was remembered for her love of sewing and crafts, but her favorite pastime was gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dachtler, who died April 25, 1996; an infant son, Douglas Dachtler; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, Mildred Mastel of Davis; Curtis Dachtler and his wife Doris of Davis; and Donald Dachtler and his wife Cheryl of Nevada City.
She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Remembrances may be made in her name to Our Faith Lutheran Church, or to the Elderly Nutrition Program, 40 N. East St., Woodland, CA 95695.
