Donna Larson Miracle
Donna Larson Miracle died in Placerville Dec. 15, 2004 at age 77.
Mrs. Miracle was born Dec. 20, 1926 in Grand Forks, N.D. to Theodor and Jessie May Larson. She had been a Yolo County resident for 32 years. She attended San Jose State University and later graduated from Sacramento State, with her teaching credential and went on to spend 32 years teaching in the Woodland School District. The majority of her teaching career was as an elementary school reading specialist. After retirement, Mrs. Miracle volunteered her time teaching adults how to read. She was a member of the Paws and Taws Square Dance Club, Woodland Methodist Church and past president of the Woodland PTA.
Survivors include Mrs. Miracle's daughter, Lynn Picco and her husband Michael of Placerville; her sons, James Miracle and his wife Kathy of Broussard, La. and Gary Miracle and his wife Nancy of Colleyville, Texas; her grandchildren, Laura Froome, Jeffrey and Amy Miracle and Elizabeth and Robert Miracle; and her brother, Ted Larson and his wife Carole of Plymouth, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Fredric James Miracle; her granddaughter, Emily Susanne Picco; her sister, Lila Mae Gjerde and her parents.

Services: A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Miracle's life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at the Federated Church in Placerville, with Rev. Andrew Headden presiding. There will be a private interment at Westwood Hills Cemetery.
MIRISE
Edward Frank Mirise
Edward Frank Mirise died in San Antonio, Texas Saturday, March 19, 2005 at age 80.
Mr. Mirise was born Aug. 22, 1924 in Colorado to John and Dorit Mirise. While living in California, he worked for the Paul Stephens Ranch, C.M. "Bud" Gordon Ranch, Wyatt's Hardware store and Adams Grain Dryer and Storage. He was a member of the Western Yolo Grange No. 423 and Yolo Pomona Grange No. 40. In San Antonio, he was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was active in the Men's and Senior Programs. He also did volunteer work at the Methodist Hospital.
Memorials in Mr. Mirise's name may be directed to Western Yolo Grange No. 423, the Trinity United Methodist Church of San Antonio or to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7 at Capay Cemetery. A pot-luck luncheon will follow the service at the Grange Hall in Guinda. Porter Loring Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas is assisting with arrangements.
MITCHELL
Becky Mitchell
Becky Mitchell, who was born in Fairfield, CA on April 28, 1963 died at St. Luke Hospital in San Francisco on September 11, 2005 due to a long illness. Mitchell was raised and attended school in Winters, CA. She is survived by her parents Josefina, of Willows and John Mitchell of Knights Landing, brother Jonathan Mitchell of Washington, sister Vanessa and her husband Patrick Throop of Caldwell, Idaho, her children Sylvia of Chico, Maria and Jonathan of Willows. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Her brother Christopher Ian Mitchell preceded her in death. A Christian burial service will be held for her on September 26, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Church in Winters, beginning with a rosary at 10:30 a.m., a mass at 11, and a burial service at the Winters Cemetery.

Donald Laru "Mitch" Mitchell
Donald Laru "Mitch" Mitchell died of emphysema/renal failure at Cottonwood Healthcare Center on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at age 81.
Born March 18, 1921, in St. Paul, Minn., Mr. Mitchell was the son of the late Clarence Laru Mitchell and Hazel Margaret Clasen Mitchell. He served as a Ship's Cook First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
In 1952, Mr. Mitchell moved to Southern California where he was employed as a delivery truck driver for Foremost for over 25 years. He was a resident of Yolo County for the last five years where he volunteered as a Community Care Car Driver and participated in activities at the Senior Citizen Center. According to his family members, "he enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Citizen Center as well as on the Internet with players around the world."
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his only son, Charles (Chuck) Mitchell and wife Marilyn of Woodland; granddaughter, Sheri Marcus and husband Jason of Vacaville; and grandson, Scott Mitchell of Woodland.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Mitchell of Grand Portage, Minn. earlier this year.
A private service is being planned.

Ernestine Luella Mitchell
Ernestine Luella Mitchell died at Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, March 27, 2005 at age 82.
Mrs. Mitchell was born July 6, 1922 in Arlington, Kan. to the late Ernest and Lottie (Butts) Nunemaker. She was employed in the aerospace industry, for the Aerojet Corporation and General Dynamics for a combined 20 years of service. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women of Montclair, serving as their treasurer in 1970, and was a member of Neighbors of Woodcraft for more than 40 years.
Survivors include Mrs. Mitchell's husband of 44 years, Otis Mitchell of Woodland; her daughters, Mary Westcot and her husband Dennis of Davis, Kay Delanty and her husband Bill of St. George, Utah; her grandchildren, Matthew Summers of Woodland, Monica Clark of Zamora, Tamara Reid of Denver and Sean and Brian Delanty of Las Vegas; seven great-grandchildren and her sisters, Thelma Foos and Della Seibenlist of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her sister, Delia Graef and her brother, Delmar Nunemaker.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Mitchell's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Services: Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 1 at Woodland Cemetery with Pastor Donald L. Parker officiating. Evergreen Funeral Service of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
MITCHELL
Ida Robbins Mitchell
Memorial services were held Sunday, January 24 in the Odd Fellows Home in Saratoga for Ida Robbins Mitchell, 90, a longtime Winters school teacher, who died in Saratoga, California, January 21, 1988. Inurnment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Saratoga.
Born in Vancouver, Washington, July 11, 1897, Mrs. Mitchell taught in the Winters elementary School from 1943 to 1958. She was a member of the Odd Fellows-Rebekah Lodges of Winters, and Madison and Woodland. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Winters, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Following retirement, she worked actively with senior citizen groups in Winters, Vacaville and Esparto. She moved from Winters in 1977 to the Country Villa Estates in Esparto.
Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate of the University of Oregon, and moved to California in 1923. Prior to teaching in Winters, Mrs. Mitchell resided and taught in Brentwood, Bryon (Byron), Rio Vista and Monticello Elementary Schools.
She is survived by a son, David G. Robbins of Folsom, daughters, Phyllis Robbins of Sacramento, and Margaret E. Phipps of Placerville, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Another son, Edward V. Flanders, preceded her in death.
MITCHELL
Robert E. Mitchell
Robert E. Mitchell died in Woodland Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at age 87.
Born March 15, 1917, in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Mitchell had been a Yolo County resident for seven years. He attended schools in Texas and Chicago, and graduated in Belmont High School in Los Angeles. He served the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1947 and earned five medals including Purple Heart from combat injuries. He retired in 1978 as a machinist.
Survivors include his stepson, James McMullen and wife Carolyn of Davis; grandsons, James McMullen Jr. of Redlands and Andy Hay of Davis; granddaughter, Donna Choi of Los Angeles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie J. Mitchell.
The family requests memorials be directed to Sacramento Children's Receiving Home. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A graveside will be held at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, April 8, a Riverside National Cemetery, with full military honors.
