Juanita Vella Hernandez
Juanita Vella Hernandez died in San Bernardino Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at age 69.
Born April 12, 1934, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Hernandez had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. She was a farm labor foreman for 25 years.
Survivors include her sons, Ernest Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas, John Hernandez and wife Carla of Woodland, George Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ray Hernandez and wife Lisa of Woodland; daughters, Mary Rodriguez of San Bernardino, Helean Ortiz and Terry Hernandez, both of Sacramento; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Hernandez; daughter, Norma Hernandez; and son, Joe Hernandez.
The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A funeral service is scheduled at noon Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland.

Korra Jean Meyers & Jesika Rose Hernandez
Two funeral services are planned for Annemarie 'Annie' Hernandez and her two children, Korra Jean Meyers and Jesika Rose Hernandez, whose bodies were discovered last week in the Sacramento River. All three were last seen on Nov. 2, 1999.
Annemarie was 34, Korra was 5 and Jesika was 2.
Annemarie was born in Woodland on Nov. 20, 1965. She was raised in Dixon where she attended local elementary schools and Maine Prairie High School. She marriage her longtime companion, Armando Hernandez, in Reno in January 1998. The couple lived in Galt.
Korra was born June 5, 1994, in Sacramento and Jesika was born July 20, 1997, in Vacaville.
They are survived by Annemarie's husband, Armando Hernandez; her two sons, Anthonie Boles and Daniel Hernandez of Dixon; her mother and stepfather, Jeanne and Bill Peterson of Dixon; two sisters, Denise Gaskins of Sacramento and Karyn Peterson of Brentwood, Tenn.; three brothers, John Thomas of Washington, Philip Bauman of Sacramento and Stephen Peterson of Dixon; grandparents, Loretta Boles of Red Bluff, Pearl and Bill Schellhorn of Davis and Leander ``Pete' Peterson of Lucerne.
Additionally, Korra Meyers is survived by her father, Michael Meyers of Wisconsin; grandparents, Jesus and Petra Hernandez of Galt and Jackie Meyers of Wisconsin.
Annemarie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Joseph Schellhorn; and grandparents, Kenneth Richard Boles, Richard Bauman and Dora Jean Peterson.
One funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Chabolla Center, 630 Chabolla in Galt and another will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Dixon Community Church, 955 E. A St. in Dixon.
The committal service will be Monday at the Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Galt Funeral Home, 702 B St., Galt.

Manuel Salazar Hernandez
Manuel Salazar Hernandez of Knights Landing died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at age 91.
Born May 20, 1911, in Iola, Kansas, Mr. Hernandez had been a Yolo County resident for 61 years. He served in World War II as Signalman First Class aboard the cruiser USS Oakland. He marriage Ernestine Estrada on Feb. 14, 1945 and worked for Dan Best Farms until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ernestine (Estrada) Hernandez; children, Gilbert Hernandez of Woodland, and Anna Dinwiddie of Sacramento; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, John Hernandez in 1968 and his son, Michael Hernandez in 1964.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Paul's Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A rosary is scheduled to be recited from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2002, at Kraft Bros. Chapel. A mass is scheduled to be said at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Knights Landing.

Ramon Hernandez
Ramon Hernandez died in Davis Monday, July 7, 2003, at age 104.
Born Aug. 31, 1898, in Altata, Sinalda, Mexico, Mr. Hernandez had been a Yolo County resident for 76 years. He was employed by River Farms, Max Yoledo, Paul Eppler and Tom Barrios until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Frances Hernandez; son, Alex Hernandez and wife Ampara of Woodland; daughters, Chris Hernandez of Fairfield, Phyllis Huerta and husband Richard of Woodland, Dolores Ledesma and husband Bob of Capitola; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today Wednesday, July 9, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. Woodland. A funeral mass is scheduled to be said at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at Holy Rosary Church, Woodland, with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland.

Serafín Torres Hernandez
Serafín Torres passed away in Winters on Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at the age of 21 years old. Serafín was born on February 2, 1978, in Michoacan, Mexico, to Alfredo and Marina Torres. He was raised in Mexico. He became a resident of Winters five years ago, and graduated from Winters High School in 1998. He was a student at Yuba College in Woodland.
Serafín was very dedicated to his family and to his church. He was one of the first men in the Spanish Choir at St. Anthony Catholic Church. His goal was to become a catholic priest. In addition to the choir, he was involved in performing in plays, produced by the choir members, some of which he wrote and performed in himself. Serafín's other love was soccer. He was a fanatic of the Mexican Soccer Team, "El America." Serafín is survived by his parents, Alfredo and Marina Torres of Winters; his brothers, Jose Torres and wife Maria, Ramiro Torres and wife Sandra, Ernesto Torres, Lalo Torres and Hugo Torres; his sisters, Yoland Ibarra and husband Gabriel, and Rosa Ochoa and husband Lorenzo. Serafín is also survived by his great-grandmother, Luisa Hernandez; his maternal grandmother, Guadalupe Ochoa, and paternal grandfather, Jose Torres, three nephews and eight nieces, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The evening vigil service was held at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at St. Anthony Catholic church, Third and Main streets in Winters. The funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial followed at the Winters Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Smith's Colonel Chapel in Winters.

Aurora Hernandez-Segura
Aurora Hernandez-Segura died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at age 93.
Born Oct. 14, 1909, in El Oro, Mexico, Mrs. Segura had been a Yolo County resident for 21 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Esther Levario of Woodland; granddaughters, Aurora and Isabel Levario, also both of Woodland; one niece; one nephew, both of El Paso, Texas; numerous great-nieces; and nephews, in Texas and Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; one brother; and son-in-law, Antonio Levario.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A rosary is scheduled to be recited at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, March 13, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled to be said at noon, Friday, March 14, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Woodland, with a burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland.
