Kevin M. Lane
Kevin M. Lane of Davis died in an automobile accident on July 3, 2005, in Woodland. Born Sept. 4, 1975, he was 29.
"A friendly, loving, caring person, he never met a stranger," his family said. "He will never be forgotten."
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray Shaw, and son Joseph Owen Lyster.
He is survived by his mother, Debra Lane of West Sacramento; daughters Shawna Nicole Angle and Cheyenne Louise Lyster of Woodland; sister Erika R. Vasquez of Yuba City; grandparents Jerry and Ann Latimer of Woodland; aunts Vickie Lane, Leonaki Daniels-Morales and Connie Latimer; uncles Coy Daniels and Randy Latimer and fiance Cinthya Acevedo of Davis.
Visitation was July 8. Burial was at 11 a.m. on July 9 on Woodland.
Remembrances may be made to Yolo Federal Credit Union, account No. 57418.
Arrangements were under the direction of McNary's Chapel in Woodland.
LANGENOUR
Thomas F. Laugenour
WOODLAND (Yolo County)- January 17, 1918 - Thomas F. Laugenour, one of the oldest pioneers in the country, died here last night. Laugenour contracted a cold Saturday, which affected his heart and caused death.
Laugenour, who was a native of North Carolina, came to California in 1859. He was marriage in Sacramento in 1864 to Miss Belle Norton, a native of Monroe County, Missouri, who survives him.
Three children, Mrs. Douglas A. McGriff, Mrs. D. B. Wood and Charles Laugenour, all of Yolo County, are still living.
LaNOTTE
Mardell LaNotte (1st of 2 obituaries)
Mardell LaNotte died in Woodland Monday, April 5, 2004, at age 76.
Born Nov. 21, 1927, in Grass Valley, Mrs. LaNotte lived in Colfax for the first 18 years of her life graduating from Placer Union High School and received her BA and teaching credential from Chico State College. She retired from teaching in 1988. She was a member of Shakespeare Club, California Retired Teachers Association, Woodland Democratic Club, American Association of University Women, Woodland Opera House, Woodland Care Car, and Yolo County Historical Society.
Survivors include her children, Bart Hardenbrook of Woodland, Andrea Bjerke and husband John and Bob Hardenbrook and wife Bridget of Rolling Hills Estates; and grandchildren, Brooke, Katy and Erica Bjerke and Skylar and Leah Hardenbrook. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick LaNotte.
The family requests memorials be directed to Woodland Opera House; The Endowment Fund of CRTA; or to Yolo Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.
Mardell LaNotte (2nd of 2 obitutaries)
Mardell LaNotte, 30 year resident of Woodland, passed away at home on Monday, April 5. She was born on Nov. 21, 1927 in Grass Valley, Ca. and lived in Colfax, Ca. for the first 18 years of her life, graduating from Placer Union High School and receiving her BA and Teaching Credential from Chico State College. While in Chico, she marriage fellow student Robert Hardenbrook and taught at Hooker Oak School for two years. When Robert graduated, they moved to Fortuna, in Humbolt County, where he taught at the high school and she taught at Fortuna Elementary. From there, they moved to Carpenteria, Santa Barbara, Riverside, then Davis where Robert was Superintendent of Schools, and she taught at Whitehead Elementary in Woodland. She remained there until her retirement. The Hardenbrooks were divorced after 26 years and three years later, Mardell marriage Nick LaNotte who was killed in 1987 in a scuba diving accident. Retiring from teaching in 1988, Mardell spent many hours volunteering, traveling, and enjoying her hobbies which included: reading, writing and the arts. Among her special interests were Shakespeare Club, California Retired Teachers (CRTA), Woodland Democratic Club, American Association of University Women, Woodland Opera House, Woodland Care Car, and Yolo County Historical Society.
Surviving Mardell are her three children: Bart Hardenbrook of Woodland, Andrea Bjerke of Davis and her husband John, and Bob Hardenbrook of Rolling Hills Estates, and his wife Bridget. Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Brooke, Katy and Erica Bjerke, and Skylar and Leah Hardenbrook.
Friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Monday, April 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at McNary's Chapel in Woodland.
Interment will be private at the Colfax Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to The Woodland Opera House, The Endowment Fund of the CRTA, or to the Hospice of Yolo County.
LANOUE
Robert E. LaNoue
Robert E. LaNoue, a 16-year resident of Davis, died Dec. 17, 2000, at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento. Born May 19, 1926, in Los Angeles, he was 74 years old.
LaNoue was raised in Sacramento and graduated from McClatchy High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After high school, he graduated from Stanford University and later received his law degree from the University of San Francisco.
He worked for 30 years for the California Department of Corporations in the Office of Policy. He retired after a distinguished career as an assistant commissioner. He was a member of the Sacramento Yacht Club, the Sierra Club and was a supporter of KVIE, Channel 6.
He was preceded in death by a son, David C. LaNoue, and a grandchild, Lindsay D. Walker.
He is survived by his former wife and good friend, Betsy LaNoue of Davis; his children, Robin M. Walker and her companion Eric Cole of Davis, and Kathy L. Manger of Brodhead, Wis.; his grandchildren, Jennifer L. Walker of Davis, Stefanie M. Walker of Davis, Tiffany R. Manger of Ashland, Ore., Crystal K. Manger of Sacramento, David H. Manger of Brodhead, Wis., Kristy Cole of Santa Rosa and Erika Cole of Santa Rosa.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. in Davis. Burial will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento.

LANTZ
Barbara Helen Lantz
Barbara Helen Lantz of Esparto died at Sutter Davis Hospital Sunday, March 13, 2005 at age 72.
Mrs. Lantz was born Oct. 18, 1932 in San Diego to the late Harry and Dorothy Ray. She had been a Yolo County resident for 50 years. She had been a homemaker all of her adult life.
Survivors include Mrs. Lantz's husband, Fred Lantz of Esparto; her daughters, Evelyn Mihal and her husband George, Althea Frankel and her husband Meril all of Sacramento, Roxie Millhollin and her husband Leland of Esparto and Dorothy Hancock and her husband John of Woodland; her sons, Joey Lazaro of Reno, Nev., Jerry Lazaro and his wife Kelly of Woodland and Timothy Lantz of Sun Valley, Nev.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, James Lazaro.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Lantz's name be directed to the Esparto Fire Department. Services: Private services were held at the Capay Cemetery Thursday, March 17. McNary's Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
LANTZ
Cammie Lee Lantz
Cammie Lee Lantz died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital, Woodland Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 at age 95.
Mr. Lantz was born June 6, 1909 in Tulsa, Okla. and had been a Yolo County resident for 65 years. He worked with the Conservation Corps and during World War II worked in the Fairfax shipyards as a welder. After the war, he worked as a farmhand. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include Mr. Lantz's son, Fred Lantz and his wife Barbara of Esparto and seven step-grandchildren, his sisters Marian Nave of Colorado and Clara Moore of Vacaville, and sister-in-law Leona Lantz of Grainsville, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife Neva Ruby Lantz.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Lantz's name be directed to Esparto Fire House, P.O. Box 110, Esparto, 95627 or to the charity of donor's choice.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at Capay Cemetery in Esparto with inurnment to follow. After the service a celebration of Mr. Lantz's life will be at the Esparto Community Service Hall, 27228 State Highway 16, Esparto. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
LaPORTA
Cynthia Jane Alexander LaPorta
Cynthia Jane Alexander LaPorta died Dec. 7, 2002. She was 41 years old.
Ms. LaPorta was born in Sacramento. She had been a resident of Woodland from 1964 to 1976.
She is survived by her two children Matthew Alexander LaPorta and Jessica Diane LaPorta; her mother Leslie Alexander, father Alex "Babe" Alexander, sisters Susan and Laura, as well as by numerous nephews and nieces.
Services: A memorial Mass was held Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Burien, Seattle, Wash.
