Elizabeth Francis "Granny" Snell
Elizabeth Francis "Granny" Snell of Woodland died Aug. 20, 2005 at age 91.
Mrs. Snell was born Nov. 26, 1913 in Yugoslavia. She had been a Yolo County resident for 58 years. She had worked as a nurse for 20 years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include Mrs. Snell's daughter Nanci Blankinship of Shady Cove, Ore.; her grandchildren, Kayce Cline, Shaun Chadwick, Josh Chadwick, Peggy Denser, Bill Coon, Tommy Brinkerhoff, Wendy Buckley, Katie Stuefloten, Kathy Phrampus, Linda Styacer, Beth Brinkerhoff, Margie Jones and Judy Clark; 31 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Angie Nedela of Fenton, Mich.; and her brothers, Joe Nedela of Davidson, Mich. and Steve Nedela of Ann Arbor, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Richard Snell; her stepdaughters, Betty Coon and Patsy Brinkerhoff and her parents, Paul and Mary Nedela.
Services: A body donor memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. today, Saturday, at the UC Davis Medical Cancer Center Auditorium, 4501 X St., Sacramento. Mrs. Snell's has requested that her body be donated to the UCD School of Medicine.
SNOW
Betty Ellen Snow
Betty Ellen Snow passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 at the Courtyard Health Care in Davis. Born on April 1, 1939 in Antioch, she was 60 years old.
Mrs. Snow was a graduate of Winters High School in 1957 and a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Winters. A longtime resident of Winters for 46 years, Mrs. Snow worked as a tax preparer for 29 years.
Mrs. Snow is survived by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth L. Snow of Winters; father, David Kenneth McNaughton of Winters; son, Kenneth M. Snow of Winters; daughter, Katherine M. Hartwell and her husband, Dennis, of Winters; brother, William W. McNaughton of Utah; grandsons, Sean K. and Daniel Snow, both of Fort Bidwell.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen L. McNaughton, on April 16, 1999.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m., at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Winters. Visitation started at 8 a.m., prior to the service, Pastor Frank Anderson officiated. Burial followed the service at Winters Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.
SNYDER
Bonnie Snyder
Bonnie Snyder died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at age 57.
Born Dec. 9, 1944, in Woodland, Mrs. Snyder was the daughter of George and Eula Warner. According to her family members, "she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Time with her family, especially her grandchildren, always put a sparkle in her eyes. Full of spunk, she experienced life with zest. Family and friends will cherish the fond memories of annual camping trips to Sly Park, weekly Bingo nights, and frequent trips to Lake Tahoe and Reno. Just as important to her was the time at home when she enjoyed gardening and caring for her animals."
Mrs. Snyder is survived by her husband, Dan Snyder, a retired Yolo County Sheriff's Deputy; sons, Danny Snyder and wife JoAnna of Woodland, and Rob Snyder and wife Erin of West Sacramento; and daughter, Danya (Snyder) Martin and husband Dale of West Sacramento; grandchildren, Logan and Allyson Snyder and Cody and Tanner Martin; and brother, George Warner of Davis.
A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 432 Cleveland St., Woodland. A reception will immediately follow the service at the St. John's Church hall.

YOUMANS
Lucille Youmans
Lucille Youmans died May 18, 2005, in Santa Rosa.
Born in Chicago, she moved to San Francisco as a young woman and always considered it her true hometown. During the war, she served as an ambulance driver in San Francisco as well as working at NBC Radio City.
She marriage E. Red Youmans of Georgia in 1946 and they settled in Los Altos. While raising her family, she also worked as an executive secretary for various firms and as the manager of a dental office.
After they retired, she and her husband moved to Paradise where they were active in the Elks Lodge. She then started a new career as a graphoanalyst, giving lectures, teaching classes and consulting in personal screening.
She was an avid volunteer for Hospice of Paradise as well as All Things Right & Relevant in Davis. When her husband of 44 years passed away, she moved to Davis to be near her family. She spent her final months at the home of her daughter.
She was described as a loving wife and mother who always had a smile and a wink for everyone.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Youmans and his wife Carol of Davis and Terry Youmans and his wife Alison of Placerville; and a daughter, Georgia Worthen and her husband Steve of Santa Rosa.
She is further survived by her grandchildren, David and Mike Youmans of Davis, Brianna and James Youmans of Placerville and Carrie and Craig Worthen of Santa Rosa; and her special friends, Brian and Jessica Leng of Glendale.

YOUNG
Garnet Elnor Young
Garnet Elnor Young passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 in Davis. Born on Jan. 14, 1919 in Huron, South Dakota, she was 80 years old.
A graduate of Clovis High School, she attended one year of college. An avid tennis player, Mrs. Young worked as secretary to the superintendent and assistant superintendent of schools in the Novato Unified School District. She has lived in Winters since 1995.
Mrs. Young is survived by her former husband, Herbert William "Brig" Young of Windsor; daughter, Garnet Rogers of Winters; son, Bert Young of Sonoma; sisters, Alice Pierson of Concord and Doretta Dambley of Eureka; grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron Rogers of Winters, and Cassie, Patty and Gus Young of Sonoma; nieces and nephews, Dale Baldwin, Sharon Clearly, Diane Andre, Ruth Rose, Dan Miller, and Bob, Tom, Jim and Karen MacEachran.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, Gustaf "Jay" Miller and Cliff Miller, and her sister, Dora Connell.
A memorial service was held for Mrs. Young, on Friday, Jan. 14, at the Covenant Reform Church, in Sacramento.

YOUNG
John Evert Young
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Kraft Brothers chapel for John Evert Young, 72 who died yesterday in Woodland Memorial hospital.
A native of Oak Grove, Mo., he made his home at 621 East Street, Woodland.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eunice Young of Woodland; sons, John E. Young, Jr., and Floyd Young of Sun Valley, Donald Young of Burbank and Leroy Young of San Diego; step-son Eldon Phipps of Torrance; daughter Wanda Brown of Grenada Hills; step-daughters Iona Hackett of Guinda and Leona Sanders of Laguna Beach; brothers A.T. Young of Woodland, A.L. Young of Burbank, Alvin Young of Ashland, Ore. and Charles Young of Covina; sister, Mrs. Arline Hancock of Glendale; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Capay Cemetery.

YOUNG
Kenneth Herbert Young
Kenneth Herbert Young, 83, died of natural causes, at Providence Extended Care, in Anchorage, Alaska. A visitation was held on Monday, April 10, 2000, followed at 2 p.m. by the funeral at Kehl’s Forest Lawn Mortuary. Pastor Kent Redfearn officiated. Burial will be in the Spring at anchorage Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers were John Young, Jr., Herbert Young, Jr., Kevin Young, Rodney Young, Edward Lee and Austin Stuart.
Mr. Young was born on January 20, 1917 in Buffalo, Missouri, and had been a resident of Anchorage since 1974. He worked for a dairy farmer in Missouri, a lead and zinc miner in Oklahoma, and as a hard rock tunneler working on such projects as Boulder Dam in Colorado, The Monticello Dam and the Caldecott Tunnel in California. He was disabled in a tunnel accident in the early ‘60s.
He was a member of the Laborers Local #185 and the Operating Engineers Local #326. He liked to fish and hunt. He enjoyed reading Louis Lamour books, and watching John Wayne western movies. The family said ‘Dad was a snappy blue-eyed, tenacious, vivacious, flirtatious, fiery mixture of Irish and American Indian descent who loved God, life, and his family. Forever on the go, always ready for an adventure, moss never grew under his feet. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. May he soar with the eagles.
Mr. Young is survived by his children, John, Jerry, Judy Young and Debra Reeves all of Anchorage; Don Young of Scottsdale, Arizona; Ruth Kaundart of Oakley; and Rose Wentz of Tucson, Arizona; 35 grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Clarke of Yuba City, and O.K. Clarke of Buffalo, Missouri and sister, Ruth Newton of Anacoca, Louisiana.
He was preceded n death by his wife, Hazel, sons George, Ronald and Herbert; granddaughter, Diana Jones, and great-granddaughter Kali Reeves.
