Don GIOVANNETTI
(1944-2002)
Don Giovannetti died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at age 57.
Born Aug. 4, 1944, Mr. Giovannetti was a lifelong resident of Woodland. He attended Holy Rosary Grammar School and went on to attend Christian Brothers High School and graduated from Bishop Armstrong High School in Sacramento. After high school he went directly into the family business, Half Moon Fruit & Produce, as a third generation agricultural owner-operator. He worked in the business for over 40 years with his father B.E. "Buster" Giovannetti, twin brother Ron Giovannetti of Yuba City and Brother John Giovannetti of Lemoore. Before his recent retirement from Half Moon, his primary duties were sales and marketing of the company's fresh produce as Head of Sales. His outgoing personality made him an industry favorite allowing him to cultivate lifelong relationships with customers throughout the world. His fourth brother, E.J. Giovannetti, was involved with the family business for a brief time before moving to Iowa where he is a partner in a law firm.
In addition to working for Half Moon, he was also an active member in the agricultural community. He served as an international liaison for the U.S. Government teaching South American farmers modern growing practices in the late 70s. Additionally, he was very active with the Western Growers Association, serving on the Board of Directors in 1994. Locally, he was involved with the Woodland Elks, serving as a trustee. He served as the Yolo County Chairman of the California Waterfowl Association and was an active member of the Yolo Fliers Club.
Mr. Giovannetti was marriage to local resident, Adele Abele in 1967 and is survived by his children, sons, Bryan and wife Margaret and their daughter, Hannah Rose, and Jeremy and wife Chris and their daughter, Lauren Grace; and daughter, Mary Jo and husband Matt Holleron.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Norma Giovannetti of Yuba City and Debbie Giovannetti of Lemoore; nephews, Adam Giovannetti of San Luis Obispo and Mark Giovannetti and wife Chris of Iowa; and nieces, Maureen Giovannetti of San Diego and Beth Giovannetti of Virginia.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, March 4, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, with a rosary scheduled to be recited at 7 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Woodland.
A funeral mass is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, also at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

GIOVANNETTI
Mary E. Giovannetti
Mary Elizabeth Giovannetti died at her Woodland residence on March 1, 2000. She was 85 years old.
She was born on June 23, 1914, in County Lough, Dundulk, Ireland, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Donegan) Marron.
She earned her nursing degree from the Mercy Hospital in San Pedro and Mercy Hospital in Modesto.
marriage to Buster Giovannetti on March 30, 1940, at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro, she had been a resident of Woodland for the past 60 years.
In addition to working with her husband in the family business, Half Moon Fruit and Produce in Woodland for 33 years as executive vice president, she maintained her registered nursing credentials from 1936 to 1994 and performed volunteer private nursing for many local family and friends.
She was also past chairman for the Yolo County March of Dimes, volunteered for the Blood Bank, was an active member of the Holy Rosary Parish and the Holy Rosary Church Altar Society for many years and served as past president of the Holy Rosary Mother's Club and Holy Rosary School. She also enjoyed family gatherings and Irish music.
She is survived by her husband, Buster Giovannetti of Woodland; her sons, E.J. Giovannetti and his wife Dee of Urbandale, Iowa, Ron Giovannetti and his wife Norma of Yuba City, Don Giovannetti and his wife Adele of Woodland, and John Giovannetti and his wife Debbie of Lemoore; grandchildren, Mark Giovannetti and his wife Christine of Iowa, Elizabeth Giovannetti of Washington D.C., Bryan Giovannetti of Woodland, Jeremy Giovannetti and wife Christine of Davis, Mary Jo Giovannetti and fiancee Matthew of Woodland, Adam and Maureen Giovannetti of Lemoore; two great-grandchildren, Hanna of Woodland and Emily of Iowa; and two sisters, Eileen Gaither of New Orleans and Agnes Zartman of San Gabriel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Patrick Marron, and sister Rose Marron.
Friends are invited to attend a vigil service Sunday at 5 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the funeral mass Monday at 11 a.m., also at Holy Rosary Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Holy Rosary School, the American Cancer Society or Yolo Hospice.

GIPNER
Alice Jane Gipner
Alice Jane Gipner of Oakland died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at age 85.
Miss Gipner was born in Woodland Feb. 15, 1920 to Alice Curson and Bailey D. Gipner. She attended Woodland Grammar School, Stockton High School and graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1942 with a Bachelor of Arts and a teaching credential. She was purchasing agent for Foremost-McKesson in San Francisco for more than 19 years and worked for the Triangle T Ranch in Oakland for 16 years.
Survivors include Miss Gipner's six nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice Curson and Bailey D. Gipner and her brothers, John William Gipner and Daven Curson Gipner.
The family requests memorials in Miss Gipner's name be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Miss Gipner, private family services will be held. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. Bayview Chapel Inc. of Berkeley is assisting the family with arrangements.
GITTINGER
Sceatta F. Gittinger
Sceatta Foster Gittinger died April 6, 2000, at Sierra Health Care in Davis. Born Jan. 21, 1902, in McLean County, Ill., she was 98.
She was raised in Oklahoma. She came to Davis with her husband in 1929 and has been a resident for the past 71 years.
When she and her husband came to Davis there were 300 faculty members and 300 students at UC Davis. The population of Davis was less than 1, 500.
She was active in the General Federation of Women's Clubs and in particular its local group, Monday Alpha. She and her husband served on the Presbytery Mariner Board. She was also a participant in the University Farm Circle and a member of Davis Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Price Gittinger, on March 16, 1969.
She is survived by her children, James Price Gittinger II of Washington, D.C., and Frances Anna Gittinger of Davis.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davis Community Church, 412 C St. Burial will take place at Davis Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Chapel.
GIVENS
James Wallace Givens, III
James Wallace Givens III died on Jan. 17, 2005. He was 65.
He was born in Ithaca, N.Y., on Feb. 5, 1940.
He is survived by his brothers, Brian Givens of Vacaville and Shel Givens of Davis; and his sister-in-law, Diane Wagner of Davis.
He is further survived by his nieces, Caitlin and Maria Givens of Davis; and nephews, John Givens of Washington, D.C., and Andrew Givens of Davis.
The family would like to thank all of the people who cared for him so well for many years.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Davis, 1620 Anderson Road.
GLAZER
Arnold "Don" Glazer
Arnold "Don" Glazer died Sept. 5, 2004, in Davis after a long illness. He was 80 years old. Born April 21, 1924, in New York City, he lived in Davis for 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He graduated from Hofstra University in New York City and received his master's degree from Golden Gate University. He was a certified public accountant for more than 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mae Glazer; son, Gerald Glazer and his wife Debbie of Davis; daughter, Peggy Delgadillo of Davis; grandchildren, Noel Bruening, Sean Spellman, Nathaniel Glazer, Jeremy Glazer, Jennifer "BB" Glazer and Amanda Glazer; brother, Bennett Glazer and his wife Phyllis of Floral Park, N.Y.; and countless friends and his office family at Jones, McLevich & Glazer.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday at the East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane in Sacramento. A viewing is scheduled for Thursday between 4 and 8 p.m. at the East Lawn Mortuary.

GLENN
Cleveland Carl Glenn Sr.
Cleveland Carl Glenn Sr. died in his Redding home Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at age 50.
Born Aug. 24, 1953, in Brawley, Mr. Glenn had been a Yolo County resident for six y ears. He was a mechanic by trade.
Survivors include his daughter, Trisha Gould; son, Cleveland Glenn Jr.; brothers, Michael, Douglas, Jerry, and Dean Glenn; sister, Shelly Rachels; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Lorene Zumwalt; and father, Blair Cleveland Glenn.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled.
