Irving "Itsie" Glick
Irving "Itsie" Glick of Quincy, Massachusetts, died at the Quincy Hospital on April 20, 2003, following a brief illness. He was 86 years old.
Mr. Glick was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was a resident of Quincy since 1951.
Mr. Glick owned and operated Edison Motor Car Company in Millis from 1951 to 1995. He was a member of the Automobile Dealers Association, Camp Gruber, which was his military outfit, and the Quincy J.C.C.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was survived by his wife Rachel; son, Dr. Richard Glick of Cranston, Rhode Island; daughter Linda Glick of Winters and grandchildren Laura Cheryl Glick, Hava Glick-Landes and Zachary Glick-Landes.
Funeral services were held at Levine-Briss Funeral Home on Friday, May 2.
A Memorial Observance was held at his late residence following the interment until sunset Friday, Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Observance was continued at the home of Dr. Richard and Lynn Glick in Cranston Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Remembrance may be made to the Quincy Medical center Foundation, 114 Whitewell Street, Quincy, MA 02169, c/o Nurses Appreciation Fund. Note on the contribution that it is in memory of Irving Glick.
The interment was in the Kovner Cemetery, Baker Street, in West Roxbury.
GLIDE
Thornton S. Glide, Sr.
Funeral Services Held for Thornton S. Glide, Pioneer.
Private funeral services were held at 11 am yesterday in East Lawn Chapel in Sacramento for Thornton S. Glide, Sr., prominent farmer in Yolo County with large holdings southeast of Davis.
He has worked thousands of acres of land in and west of the by-pass and owned range land in the Winters area.
The son of the late Joseph Henry Glide and Lizzie Snider Glide, daughter of a pioneer Sacramento physician.
Mr. Glide was born in England on His father's farm in Somersetshire.
Mr. Glide is survived by his wife, Margarette S. Glide, a son, Thornton of Davis, and a daughter, Mrs. Peggy G. Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Seldon Williams and Mrs. Wula Elliot, both of Berkeley, and a grand daughter.

GLOCK
Robert W. Glock
Robert W. Glock, retired associate vice chancellor of UC Davis, died Nov. 12, 2000, at his home in El Macero. He was 83.
He was well-known to the community, having served as a member of the Davis Chamber of Commerce and as president of the Davis Rotary Club at times during his 20 years with UCD. He was the university's chief of budget operations until his retirement in 1986.
He was born in Webster, Wis., on Aug. 14, 1917, to Theodore and Helen Glock. He grew up in Minneapolis and worked his way through the University of Minnesota, graduating with a bachelor's degree, and quickly entering military service in World War II.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1965 at stations in Heidelberg, Germany; Cairo, Egypt; Shanghai, China; and the Panama Canal zone. At the time of his retirement, Col. Glock was chief of the central finance and accounting office for all U.S. military operations in Europe and the Middle East.
After retiring from the Army, he returned to college at UC Los Angeles, where he earned an MBA. He was hired in 1966 at UCD, where his business, management and accounting skills were quickly realized by then-Chancellor Emil Mrak.
Second only to UCD was his dedication to El Macero Country Club, to which he dedicated years of financial advisory service. He was president of the board of directors in 1975. At one time during that period, when the club was without a manager, he put aside his regular affairs and assumed temporary full management duties there. For the past 10 years, he served as chairman of the board's finance committee.
His many other civic duties included service on the El Macero Advisory Committee to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors.
He was a dedicated golfer whose fascination with the game continued unabated until his illness about five months ago. His playing group was so regular that it was commonly referred to as "the Bob Glock foursome."
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Miriam Glock. They were marriage during WWII, in 1942. He is also survived by his brother, William A. Glock of Hot Springs, Ark.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the Davis Lutheran Church, 317 E. Eighth St. Burial will be private at the Davis Cemetery.

HANCOCK
William A. Hancock
William Augustus Hancock died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Jan. 14, 2000, in Davis. Born Aug. 19, 1944, in Gridley, he was 55.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joan; two children, Lt. Margaret Hancock, USMC, and Cpl. Mason Hancock, USMC; and a sister, Anne Luoma of Fair Oaks.
He earned his doctorate in English at UC Davis, was a life member of National Rifle Association, and, at the time of his death, was employed by the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co.
He was loved and respected by his peers and will be greatly missed, family members said.
A private graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Rose Memorial Park in Fort Bragg.

HANDY III
Arthur Alvin "Chip" Handy III
Arthur Alvin "Chip" Handy III died Oct. 21, 2001, at Sutter Davis Hospital after many struggles with long-term illness. He was 47 years old.
He was born Nov. 6, 1953, in Springfield, Mass. He had a bachelor's degree from Catholic University of America and studied dramatic arts at UC Davis. He had lived in Davis since 1978-79 and drove a taxi for some time.
An experimental musician, he co-founded "The Militant Musician's Pond, " and was a disc jockey at KDVS for awhile as well. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile and loving spontaneity.
Friends are invited to a memorial service Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. at the K Street Park in Davis.
HANKS
Audrey Eda Hanks
Audrey Eda Hanks died at Palm Gardens Convalescent Hospital after a brief illness on Aug. 22, 2002, at age 92.
Born Nov. 21 1909, she had been a Yolo County resident most of her life.
After competing high school, Mrs. Hanks went to Chico State to earn a teaching degree. She then earned a teaching credential and graduated in 1932.
She began her career in a one-room schoolhouse in Sycamore, a small community in Northern California. A few years later, she transferred to Woodland and started at Dingle Elementary School, where she stayed until retiring in 1965.
According to family members, "many native Woodlanders remember her as their 'elementary school teacher' who made a significant impact on their life."
She also loved to travel, and took day and weekend trips to places in Northern California, according to family members. She was also an avid gardener and card player, according to family members, and loved to socialize at gatherings.
Mrs. Hanks is survived by cousins Gale and Rilda Humphrey, Joy and Mervin Nichols, and Elizabeth Beoschanz, all of Woodland; cousin Charles Humphrey of San Jose; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews in Colusa and Mendocino counties.

HANNAGAN
Allen James Hannagan
Allen James Hannagan died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at age 82.
Born Sept. 13, 1919, in Paso Robles, Mr. Hannagan was a native Californian. He was the son of the late Myron J. and Lulu (Betts) Hannagan, who were both native Californians. He had been a Yolo County resident for the last 56 years. He had been employed with A.W. Hays Trucking from which he retired. He was a member of the Local Teamsters Union of Sacramento. According to his family members, "he was an avid reader and during his lifetime he had read the complete works of Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey, as well as numerous other authors who wrote about the glory days of the golden west. Additionally, he loved to travel and camp, and together with his wife, they had traveled to all of the western States, from Mexico to Canada, in 1992 and 1993, visiting the places he had read about in the novels. Another great love was raising cattle and horseback riding."
Mr. Hannagan is survived by his wife, Hazel (McAnelly) Hannagan of Woodland; son, Michael Hannagan and wife Barbara of Woodland; grandsons, Allen Hannagan of Linda and Sean Hannagan of Woodland; great-grandson, Shane Hannagan of Linda; sisters, Audrey Matoza, and Blanch Whitfield; and brother, Robert Hannagan.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 1, at Kraft Bros. Funeral Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, with a funeral service scheduled at 1 p.m., also at Kraft Bros. Chapel. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, The Reverend Elmer Prout officiating.
