Emma Lena (Janeski) Bahn
Emma Lena (Janeski) Bahn, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, May 11, 2003, at Cottonwood Healthcare, Woodland. She was 98 years old, having been born March 19, 1905, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Louis and Emma (Restler) Janeski, both who predeceased her. Her parents had immigrated to America from Poland. Emma had been a resident of Yolo County for the past 58 years.
While living in Woodland, Emma was employed first for the Contadina Cannery for 25 years, and then with Brannigan Turkey Farm for 30 years. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for more than 20 years and was a member of the Eagles Drill Team.
She is survived by her children, Arlene Wilson of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Dale Bahn and wife Christine of Sun City, Ca., Billy Bahn and wife Linda of Spokane, Wash., Jerry Bahn and wife Adrienne and Linda Komula and husband Ron, all of Woodland. Twenty-four grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her husband, William Bahn, her children, MaryLou Bahn, Alice Bahn, John Bahn, George Bahn and Della Bahn; and a grandson, Brit Bahn, preceded Mrs. Bahn in death. Brothers predeceasing her include Bill, Ed, George and Fred Janeski; and sisters, Alice Dorsey and Edna Lambie.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, at Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral ceremony celebrating her life, which will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2003, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, with Pastor Elmer Prout officiating. A graveside committal service will be held immediately following the funeral service at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the charity of donor's choice.

Marva Elaine-Denise Bailey
Marva Elaine-Denise Bailey of Sacramento, whose family go back generations in Guinda, died suddenly Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at age 25.
Bailey was born July 20, 1980 at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento to Carl Dexter and Marva (Hackett) Bailey. She worked as a customer service representative in retail sales, and was less than a semester away from her degree from Sacramento State. She had hoped to become a school teacher.
Survivors include her sons, Anthony Eli and Gabriel Rivera of Sacramento; her parents Carl Dexter and Marva (Hackett) Bailey of Sacramento; sister Falisia Bailey of Sacramento; brothers Carl Bailey and Michael Bailey of Sacramento; aunts Carol Bailey of Chicago, Ill., Louana Harden of Guinda, Charlotte Lopes of Yuba City, Carmen Hackett of Aurora, Colo., Paula Hackett Palmer of Sacramento, Tyra and Wanda Hackett of Seattle, Wash., Colleen Henson of Sacramento, and numerous uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. today, Saturday, Nov. 26, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. The family requests donations in Ms. Bailey's name be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

Phyllis Bailey died at her daughter's home in Belfair, Wash. Thursday, March 3, 2005 at age of 63.
Mrs. Bailey was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Woodland.
She was an Esparto resident and had been a Yolo County resident her entire life.
She retired from the Yolo County Office of Education Oct. 1, 2000 after 40 years of service.
Phyllis enjoyed reading, computer games, gardening, crafts and quilting.
She most loved spending time with her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. She faithfully cared for her parents until their deaths so they could remain at home.
Survivors include her sister, Judy Stone of Woodland; her daughters, Dawn Wunder and her husband Lonny of Woodland and Lisa Marbella and her husband Vince of Belfair, Wash. and her grandchildren, Bradley Wunder of Glendale, Ariz., Amy Wunder of Woodland, VJ and Catherine Marbella of Belfair, Wash. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Joey Marbella of Belfair, Wash.; mother, Grace Wasson and father, Carl Wasson of Esparto.
A celebration of her life will be held at Waite Hall at the Yolo County Fairgrounds, Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m.

Roberta J. Bailey
Roberta J. Bailey died March 26, 2001 in her Woodland home. Born in Arlington, Mass., to Albert and Mildred (Jarvis) Hicks on Feb. 16, 1934, she was 67.
She was a resident of Yolo County for 35 years and was a supervisor at St. John's Retirement Village.
She is survived by her children, Linda Hicks of Manville, RI; Deborah Mc Laughlin of Sacramento; Robert Bailey of Kingman, Ariz.; Bruce Bailey of Ukiah; Thomas Bailey of Woodland; Kevin Bailey and Robin Bailey of Woodland. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, as well as 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation to be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at McNary's Chapel, 458 College Street in Woodland. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel at St. John's Retirement Village, 135 Woodland Avenue. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Samuel Bailey
Samuel Bailey, says the Democrat, an old forty-niner, and an old Yolo county pioneer, died last Monday at Knight's Landing. The Board of Supervisor had just completed arrangements to send him East to his friends.

Shirley Lee Bailey
Shirley passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 71 years young. She passed at home with her husband of 50 years by her side.
She was born Jan. 2, 1934 at the Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco. On June 2, 1955 Shirley marriage the man she loved. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 1960.
She resided in Santa Cruz for many years before moving to Davis in 1986. She worked for UCD until retiring in 1992. She loved to vacation on the island of Kauai. She remained incredibly close to her family and will be extremely missed.
She leaves behind her husband Harvey. Sons Michael, Brian and Greg. Their wives Cathy, Nancy and Merry. Grandchildren are Sean, Brandy, Michael, Michelle, Mike, Samantha and Scott.
We would like to express our utmost thanks to the staff at Sutter Hospice. Shannon, Davette, Kerrie, Norma and Marta were so much help to Shirley and our family. Thanks to Margaret for caring for her in her last days. Your kindness will be remembered.
We will honor her life and memory at a time to be determined. Family and friends will be notified.

Todd Duane Bailey
Todd Duane Bailey died Nov. 22, 2005, at his home in Davis. He was 87.
He was born July 27, 1918, in Sherwood, Ore., to Duane and Hazel Bailey. His parents were longtime residents of Harney County in Oregon.
A family practice physician for more than 50 years, Bailey and his wife Marjorie retired to Davis in 2000. On Sept. 30, the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Dr. Bailey was a decorated World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific in the Army Air Forces.
Remembered as an inventor, musician and humanitarian filled with compassion and generosity, Dr. Bailey treated patients regardless of their ability to pay. His career led him to Oroville, Los Angeles and Newport Beach.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Burns and Doug Bailey.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, and three children and their families: Todd D. Bailey Jr., his wife Pam, and their children Heidi, Patrick and Spencer; Janice Bailey and her life partner Joanne Shaw; and Bill Bailey and his children Matthew and Courtney.
He also is survived by brother Leeds Bailey and his wife Marie, and by sister-in-law Rae Bailey.
Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends consider donations to Alzheimer's disease charities or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
