Donna McDaniel
Donna McDaniel, 60, died March 16, 2000, in Davis. The younger of two children, she was born April 5, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, from 1957 to 1960. She graduated in 1977 from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in general studies.
In June 1960, she marriage Doyle Cutler and they later moved to Davis where he became a professor at UC Davis in 1964. After their divorce in 1972, she returned to Arlington.
Donna came back to Davis in 1992 and began work with UCD. During five of those years with the Chancellor's Club, she formed many warm relationships with university donors and took great pride in event planning for the Chancellor's Club member programs.
Last fall, she transferred to the Office of the Academic Senate where she took new joy in her responsibilities assisting the university emeriti program and professors, developing many new courses to be taught at the university.
She was an active member of the Davis Sunrise Rotary Club in recent years.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Landry; grandchildren, Colby and Drake Landry of Gold River; and her son, Dan Cutler of Sedona, Ariz. Donna's grandchildren fondly remember her as their "Mimi."
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church, 200 W. 14th St., Davis.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Donna McDaniel Memorial Fund, care of First Northern Bank of Dixon, 434 Second St., Davis, CA, 95616; or to the charity of donor's choice.

McDANIEL
George J. McDaniel
George Joshua McDaniel died March 16, 2001, at the Evergreen Healthcare facility. Born Sept. 26, 1917, in Tamms, Ill., to the late Benjamin and Dora McDaniel, he was 83.
McDaniel was employed by the Western Pacific Railroad from 1940 to 1965. He and his wife then moved to Maxwell, where they purchased the Twin Palms Mobile Home Park. They owned the park until 1982, when they moved to Woodland. A little over a year ago, they moved to Gridley to be near their daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia McDaniel of Gridley; a daughter, Deanne Carbajal of Gridley; two grandchildren, Marlene Martin of Oroville and Kris Carbajal of Texas; one great-grandchild, George Anderson of Oroville; and a sister, Mildred McDaniel of Tamms, Ill.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. in Woodland. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Floyd Mauldin officiating.

Joe Danny McDaniel
Joe Danny McDaniel died at age 75 in his home on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. Born on Sept. 11, 1927 in Compton, Mr. McDaniel was the son of Allie (Clark) and Homer McDaniel. He graduated from Redmond Union High School in 1946 and later attended Oregon State College, now Oregon State University, in Corvallis. He worked for Western Geophysical from 1948 to 1960.
Mr. McDaniel and his first wife, Ruth Hinsdale, were marriage on June 21, 1952, and had two daughters. In 1960 the family moved to the Sacramento area where he worked for Aerospace and later McDonnell Douglas. He transferred with McDonnell Douglas to Southern California in 1968. He obtained his electrical contractor license in 1972 and worked for Anheuser-Busch in Van Nuys until his retirement in 1992.
Following the death of Ruth, Mr. McDaniel was reintroduced to and marriage his high school sweetheart Betty Ellis who lived in Woodland. The couple were marriage on Oct. 27, 1990 in Prineville, Ore. They moved to Woodland in 1992 where he resided until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McDaniel of Woodland, sister Anne Ensley of Waynesville, N.C.; daughters, Pamela Hennessey of Costa Mesa, Dannie Good of Newport Coast, and Juliana Billingsley of Steilacoom, Wash.; sons, Larry Ellis of Woodland and Mark Ellis of San Antonio, Texas; five grandsons, and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Beverly, brother Bruce and two grandsons.
Arrangements were under the direction of McNary's Funeral Chapel in Woodland.
Services: A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Holy Rosary Church. A vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Holy Rosary Church.

Julia Ann McDaniel
Julia Ann McDaniel died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital in Gridley at the age of 90.
Mrs. McDaniel was born in Nevada on July 5, 1911 to Benito and Lucia (Elordi) Guerena.
Mrs. McDaniel moved to Woodland in 1982 with her late husband George after retiring from ownership of the Twin Palms Mobile Home Park in Maxwell. They moved to Gridley in 1999 to be near their daughter.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Joe Carbajal of Gridley; grandchildren, Marlene Martin and her husband Larry of Oroville and Kris Carbajal of Ft. Hood, Texas; great grandchild, George Anderson of Oroville; nieces, Dolores Hall and her sons, Terry and Scott of Carson City, Nev.; Anna Brown of Carlin, Nev.; and nephew, Charles Guerena of Carlin, Nev.; sister-in-law, Mildred McDaniel of Tamms, Ill.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at 2 p.m. at McNary's Chapel in Woodland.
The burial will follow at the Woodland Cemetery.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
McDANIEL
Marilyn F. McDaniel
Marilyn F. McDaniel, a Davis resident for 23 years, died unexpectedly July 27, 2003, at Sutter Davis Hospital, due to complications stemming from diabetes. She was 51.
She was born to Charlie and Agnes Hotz in Evansville, Ind., on Aug. 11, 1951. On June 9, 1969, she marriage Larry E. McDaniel. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to Davis. She attended Cal State Sacramento, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.
She was a caring and intelligent person who loved animals, especially dogs and cats, loved ones say, and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Larry McDaniel of Davis, mother Agnes O'Neal, brother Danny O'Neal of Loma Linda, and sisters Sandy O'Neal of Sacramento, Kathy O'Neal of Davis and Peggy Bennett of Sacramento.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St.
McDERMOTT
Francis 'Frank' McDermott
Longtime Davis resident Francis "Frank" McDermott died on Aug. 19, 2002.
Born on Oct. 1, 1925, in Providence, R.I., he was 76 years old.
He returned home from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1945 and soon after marriage his beautiful wife Muriel.
The couple moved to Amarillo, Texas, and raised eight of their nine children before moving to Northern California where their last child was born.
A rare man among men, he valued loyalty to family and friends above all else.
He had wisdom and charm and pulled no punches.
He was honest whether his honesty was politically correct or not.
He was an avid sports fan and a great athlete.
One of his greatest joys in life was watching his own children and grandchildren play sports.
For many years, he was a familiar face at the Davis High School football stadium.
He was affectionately known as "Gramps, " "Stud Muffin" and "Frankie-Doodle."
Those who were fortunate enough to have met him knew his quick wit, warm smile and dancing Irish eyes.
He deeply touched the hearts of many.
His family will be eternally proud of him and hold him forever in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick McDermott, and his grandson, Pat McDermott.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Muriel McDermott.
He was a devoted and loving father of Susan Walgenbach and her husband Wayne, Tim McDermott, Geri Anderson and her husband Pat, Therese Cantrell and her husband Randy, Kathy Klenzendorf and her husband Chuck, Joan McDermott, Fran McDermott and his wife Sandra, and Robert McDermott.
He was the loving grandfather of Christine Evans, Nicole Rockwell and her husband Grant, Ashley Walgenbach, Sean McDermott, Heather McDermott, Tara McDermott, Lyndsay Cantrell, Brett Stewart, Michael McDermott, Nick Cantrell and Kevin Klenzendorf.
He is further survived by great-grandchildren Daniel and Courtney Slack and Michelle Evans.
The rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church.
A reception/Irish wake will follow at Soga's Restaurant in downtown Davis.
