Mark Allen Lyon
Mark Allen Lyon died in Woodland Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at age 46.
Born Dec. 17, 1957 in Oklahoma City, Okla., Mr. Lyon had been a Yolo County resident for four months. He worked in electronic communications for Delta Wireless. He loved his job and California; most of all, however, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Jane Lyon; sons, Joshua and Nicholas Lyon, all of Woodland; sister, Debbie and her husband Mike Hayes of Angleton, Texas; brother, Rex Lyon of Oklahoma City, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth (Shive) Lyon.
The family requests memorials be directed to Well Fargo Bank, College Trust Fund for Joshua and Nicholas Lyon, 444 Court St., Woodland. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland.
LYSTER
Willis Carl "Billy" Lyster, Sr.
Willis "Billy" Carl Lyster Sr. of Stockton died in Angels Camp Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005 at age 46.
Mr. Lyster was born May 21, 1959 in Richmond. He had been a Yolo County resident for three years. He worked as a cook for various restaurants and facilities.
Survivors include Mr. Lyster's son, Willis Lyster Jr. of Ontario, Ore.; his sister, Paula Gallagher of Nevada; his brothers, Michael Lyster of Woodland and David Lyster of Oklahoma; his stepbrother, Donny Swin of California; his nieces, Michelle Lyster of Woodland, Angelina Robles of Idaho, Colleen Lyster and Tami Lyster of Oklahoma; his nephew, Jory Moscon of Tennessee; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cline Lyster; his father, Willis C. Lyster; his sister, Cindy Fields; and his stepmother, Ruby Ditzler.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mr. Lyster, private family services are scheduled. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.

Helen Marie (Stephens) Corby
Helen Marie (Stephens) Corby died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, in Woodland.
Born in Yolo County on April 14, 1913, to the late Ben Gray and Helen (Mangles) Stephens, Mrs. Corby had been a Yolo County resident for 58 years. She served in the Red Cross during World War II. She then returned to Woodland and was employed by Yolo County as a social worker in 1953.
Survivors include her sister, Peggy Wood of Capay Valley; nieces, Carol Grein of Chico, Lisa Jones of Granite Bay, Mary Bell of Lynnwood, Wash., and Martha Braaten of Oroville; nephews, Philip Wood of Folsom and Jim Stephens of Loomis; and aunt, Anna Louise Stephens of Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Corby, in 1985; brothers, Ben Fulton, and Don Stephens; and nephew, Fulton Wood.

CORCORAN
Joseph Albert "Joe" Corcoran, Sr.
Joseph "Joe" Albert Corcoran Sr. died at his home in Woodland, Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at age 79.
Mr. Corcoran was born Sept. 29, 1926 in Woodland to John Dennis and Nora Mae Corcoran. He was a lifelong Yolo County resident. He was a 1944 graduate of Woodland High School and served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during WW II. He was a former operating engineer and an area farmer until his retirement in 1991. He was a founding member of the California Bean Growers Association, a member of California Rice Co-op, local resource conservation district, California Farm Bureau, California State Old Time Fiddlers Association, Irish-American Club, volunteer fireman for the West Plainfield Fire Dept.; a member of the Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, and on the board of directors of Agape Villages, a Christian foster family agency.
Survivors include Mr. Corcoran's wife of 30 years, Joyce Corcoran; his daughters, Janette Amarel and her husband Tom, Gwen Morrison and her husband Bobby, Cheryl Ormond, Catherine Fair and her husband Ernie, Jeanette Ashley; his son, Joseph A. Corcoran Jr.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sisters, Mary Culley, Margaret Fletcher, Anna Smith, Kathleen Jones, Helen Roberts; and his brothers, Henry, Robert, Charles and Daniel Corcoran. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, James Corcoran in 1998.

CORCORAN
Linda Kathleen Corcoran
Linda Kathleen died at Kaiser Hospital, Richmond following a three-month illness on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at age 34.
Born Oct. 22, 1969, Miss Corcoran was a native of Woodland and graduated as valedictorian from Liberty Christian Academy in 1987. She attended National University in Sacramento, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies and curriculum development and a master of arts degree in science/education. She was employed at Christian Copyright Licensing in Portland, Ore. working in customer service/copyright administration from 1989 to 1992. She served as educator/principal at Liberty Christian Academy from 1996 to 1999. She was currently employed as official special events coordinator and executive assistant to the superintendent of Vacaville Christian Schools.
Survivors include her parents, Dan and Janice Corcoran of Woodland; sisters, Kris Souza and husband Jon of Richmond, Va. and Tami Galart and husband Alan of Portland, Ore.; brother, Jeff Corcoran and wife Lisa of Woodland; nieces, Andrea, Rebecca, and Michelle Galart of Portland, Ore., and Trina Meyer of Woodland; nephews, Jamison and Patrick Corcoran of Woodland, Daniel Brown of Richmond, Va., and Mike, Alex, and Christopher Meyer, all of Woodland; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

CORDOZA
Lula "Lu" Adell (McNeill) Cordoza
Lula "Lu" Adell (McNeill) Cordoza of Woodland died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 at age 90.
Mrs. Cordoza was born March 3, 1915 in Woodland. She had been a life-long Yolo Country resident. She was an officer manager for the Weaver Tractor Company for 25 years. In addition she was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include Mrs. Cordoza's son, Bill Cordoza Jr. of Woodland; her grandchildren, Dave Cordoza, Tom Cordoza, Denise Hutchison and Bob Cordoza; her great-grandchildren, Austin, Will, Meredith and Natalie Cordoza and Blair, Blake and Blain Hutchison. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Will Cordoza; her daughter, Barbara Tolson; her parents, Olive and David McNeill and her sisters, Catherine Birch and Zilda McNeill.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Cordoza's name be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Funeral Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon, Thursday, Sept. 1 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland with Father John Boll officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Woodland. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
CORDREY
Helen "Audree" Cordrey
Helen "Audree" Cordrey of Davis died Jan. 5, 2005. She was 87.
A private memorial service for family and friends was held Saturday at the Chapel of St. James Catholic Church in Davis.
Born Aug. 15, 1917, in San Antonio, Texas, to Julia and John Leigh, she and her family moved to Tucson, Ariz., where she grew up and attended school. As a young woman, she moved to Hollywood to study ballet. She performed on many stages, including the Hollywood Bowl and the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.
Following her marriage to Ray Cordrey in 1940, she devoted her life to raising and nurturing her family. She and her husband retired in the Sierra for 20 years before moving to Davis last year.
Her family says she touched the lives of hundreds of friends and acquaintances through her giving and loving nature.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ray Cordrey of Davis; son, Bob Cordrey and his wife Sheila of Davis; daughter, Carol Cordrey and her former husband Tom Niccum and his wife Linda of Santa Clara; and daughter, Laurie Miller and her husband Fred of Veneta, Ore.
She is further survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
