Gayle was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on October 5, 1935 to Daniel E. Shulmire and Margaret Dean Shulmire.
She attended schools in Klamath Falls, Ore., and Adin, Calif., graduating from Quincy High School in 1953.
Gayle's first job in Quincy at age eighteen was as a telephone switchboard operator.
She lived in Quincy for 32 years and was employed as a teller for Wells Fargo bank, a title officer for Cal Sierra Title Company, and a clerk for the Plumas County Courthouse.
She moved to Woodland in 1972 and worked as a title officer for the Title Insurance and Trust Company, and as a court scheduler in the Yolo County Courthouse.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Bob Martin; daughters Susan Tyree and husband Sean of Orangevale, Cindy Imbach and husband Steve of Woodland; sons Steve Martin, and Tom Martin and his wife Shirley.
She is further survived by her grandchildren; Shannon Hiatt, Jordan and Maicie Tyree, Tori Martin, and Andrew and Jason Imbach; nieces Kathy Barns and husband Butch of Folsom, Debra Springs and husband Chip of Orangevale, and Clarice Hastings, her husband Pat and their son Josh of Orangevale; her aunt, Nita Shulmire of Klamath Falls, cousins Cleo and David Alward of Anderson, Yvonne Cosand and husband Allen of Klamath Falls, and Jerry Higgins and his wife Nonie of Reno, as well as many other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joyce Snider, brother Edwin Lester Shulmire, and her beloved son, James Robert Garey.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2005 at 5 p.m. at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.

MARTIN
Joe Madrid Martin
Joe Madrid Martin died at his residence in Woodland Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at age 77.
Mr. Martin was born Dec. 1, 1927 in Winters to Frank and Amalia Martin. He lived in Winters for 31 years, in Arbuckle for 41 years and Woodland for two years. In Winters he farmed apricots and peaches and worked as a field representative for Hunts and Spreckels and the Army Communications Depot. After moving to Arbuckle, he farmed almonds and prunes in the Arbuckle and Dunnigan area until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Winters, Holy Cross Church in Arbuckle and Holy Rosary Church in Woodland. He was also a member of Club Iberico de Espa a. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 at Fort Lewis, Wash. and Santa Fe, N.M.
Survivors include Mr. Martin's wife of 54 years, Anna Martin of Woodland; his daughters, Anita Warmack and her husband Mark of Sacramento, Alaina Stahlman and her husband Mel of Shell Beach and Lisa Wilbur and her husband Jeff of Tulare; his sons, Frank Martin and his wife Janet and John Martin and his wife Marta both of Arbuckle; his grandchildren, Mary, Susie, John, Sarah and Callie Martin, Daniel, Joseph and Marisa Vazquez and Elizabeth, Sarah and Grace Wilbur; his great-grandchild Elina Vazquez; his sister, Madeline Jimenez of Winters and his brothers, Tony Martin of Vacaville and Frank Martin of Winters.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Martin's name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617.
Services: Visitation is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 23. Both will be held at Holy Cross Church in Arbuckle. McNary-Moore Funeral Service of Colusa is assisting the family with arrangements.
JIMENEZ
Jerome Arthur "Jerry" Jimenez, Sr.
Jerome "Jerry" Arthur Jimenez Sr. died in his daughter's Sacramento home Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at age 58.
Born Aug. 4, 1947, Mr. Jimenez was a native of Woodland and had been a lifelong Yolo County resident. He was the son of the late Alfred Macias Jimenez and Jean Dallas (Wilcox) Jimenez and a Woodland High School graduate. After a 4-year period of working for Heidrick Farming Company, he joined the U.S. Army in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War. He completed a military career of 17 years and earned the following awards: Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman and Expert Rifleman medals, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Civil Actions Medal and the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his companion of 14 years, Kathy Arreguin of West Sacramento; daughters, Olivia Howard and husband, Art and Moriah Hancock of Sacramento, Martina Jimenez of Woodland, Andrea Munt of Rocklin and Amanda Jimenez of West Sacramento; sons, Ben Higa and Jerome Jimenez Jr. of Woodland; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jacob Higa, Vincent and Marcos Lara, Mary Jane Hernandez and Roman Jimenez. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Jimenez of Yuba City, Jean Sharma and Kay O'Donald of Sacramento, Diana Valdepena and Alfreda Martinez of Woodland, and Iona Rodriguez of Chico; and brother, Alfred Jimenez of Sacramento.
Services: A funeral service is scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., with a military chaplain officiating. Interment will take place at a later date, in the veteran's section of Woodland Cemetery. Memorials, in the name of Mr. Jimenez, may be directed to UC Davis Cancer Research Center, 2315 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, 95817. Kraft Bros. MARTIN
Lucile Martin
Lucile Martin died Jan. 18, 2001, at Sierra Health Care in Davis. She celebrated her 98th birthday on Jan. 13.
She was born in Illinois on Jan. 13, 1903, and moved to California in 1926. After nearly 40 years in Yucca Valley, she moved to Davis in 1999 to be close to her daughter, Jewel Payne.
While living in Yucca Valley, she was an active member of Valley Community Chapel, two quilting guilds, a hand weaving association and did a large amount of knitting and crocheting for charitable organizations. She also enjoyed collecting various types of wood for lamps and inlayed tables. Her greatest pleasure was her numerous friendships.
She is survived by two daughters, Jewel Payne of Davis and Joyce Banzhaf of Los Angeles; five grandchildren, Russell Payne of Seattle, Charlene Payne of Davis, Wesley Payne of Phoenix, and Wendy Wernigg and Desiree Milestone of Santa Cruz; and three great-grandchildren, Roland Payne of Seattle, Eli Wernigg of Santa Cruz and Nerissa Payne of Davis.
A memorial service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Davis Community Church, 412 C St.
MARTIN
Marie Martin
Mrs. Marie Martin passed away on Monday, April 28, 2003 at her Winters home. Born June 2, 1919 to Benjamin and Almer Pinkston in Calico Rock, Arkansas, she was 83 years old.
Mrs. Martin grew up in Calico Rock. She lived in Indiana for several years before moving to Winters in 1956. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Winters.
She is survived by her daughters, Freda Spurling of Clear Lake and Nina Vender of Winters. She also leaves six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Floyd Martin, on July 18, 1989.
Friends were invited to call on Wednesday, April 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main Street, in Winters and are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at Smith's Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Winters Cemetery.
MARTIN
Mary (Rita) Martin
Mary (Rita) Martin died in Woodland Monday, March 24, 2002, at age 94.
Born Oct. 24, 1907, in East Taunton, Mass., Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Frank and Caroline Camara. She was the oldest of 11 children. She attended school until the age of 13, when she went to work at the shoe factory to help her family. It was there in 1923 that she met and later marriage her first husband of 23 years, the late Andrew Hamilton of Massachusetts. In 1925, the families moved to Oakland, where a devoted wife and mother, worked at Grandma's Cakes and Cookies. She was an active member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, IDES Lodge, and president of the Portuguese fiesta in 1939.
In 1946 she marriage her second husband of 23 years, the late Victor Santos of Woodland. They moved to Chico, where they owned and operated a boarding house for college students, including her son, nephew and six other boys attending Chico State University. In 1950 they moved to Woodland, where she worked at the Tamale Parlor. In 1958 they moved to Chester where they owned and operated a family restaurant the Green Pine Cafe. In 1970, they moved back to Oakland to care for her aging parents. In 1976 they made their way back to Woodland, where she worked at Raquel's restaurant. She volunteered at the Holy Rosary assisting the Priest in visiting and caring for the elderly. She also cared for and cooked for a number of friends and neighbors.
In 1983 she marriage her third husband of 16 years, the late Joseph Martin of Woodland. Still helping friends and neighbors. She and her husband managed to find time to bowl with the senior league at Woodhaven lanes. They loved to travel, they went to Massachusetts, Colorado, Hawaii, Portugal and other places. According to her family members, "she loved to cook. Her specialty was baking peanut butter cookies and making wedding cakes. Her hobbies were also camping, fishing, knitting and crocheting."
Mrs. Martin is survived by her children, Caroline Hamilton-Toland of Woodland and Marilyn Hamilton-Roberts of Manteca; and stepchildren, Bill Martin and wife Velia of Tucson, Ariz., Larry Martin and wife Becky of Citrus Heights, Betty Dullum and husband Marshall of Woodland.
She is also survived by her brothers, Frank Camara and wife Grace of San Lorenzo, John Camara and wife Essie of New York, and George Camara of Castro Valley; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Hamilton-Denigri; son, Richard Hamilton; sisters, Nancy Beckerleg, Beatrice Fernandes, Margaret Davis and Eva Ward; brothers, William, Anthony, and Manuel Camara.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St. Woodland, with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. also at Kraft Bros. Chapel.
A funeral Mass is scheduled to be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

MARTIN
Nash San Martin
Nash San Martin passed away on Jan. 10, 2000 in Oakland. Born in Ketchikan, Alaska on Feb. 11, 1925, he was 74 years old.
Mr. San Martin moved to the Bay Area in the late 1930s. He was a graduate of Lick Wilmerding High School. Following graduation, he entered the US Air Force and served as a pilot during World War II. After the war he attended San Francisco State University, graduating with honors in mathematics. He received his masters degree from Holy Names College.
Mr. San Martin began a lifelong teaching career in Richmond, moving to the Berkeley School District several years later, where he remained until he retired in 1991. He also taught at Alameda College, Berkeley Adult School and the University of California. He spent the last seven years at Mills College.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Karen San Martin, Berkeley; Greg San Martin of Walnut Creek, Michael San Martin of San Francisco and Laurie San Martin of Boston, Massachusetts; daughter-in-law, Sarah; granddaughter, Elizabeth of Walnut Creek.
Mr. San Martin was the son-in-law of the late Fay and Gregory Vasey.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:3 p.m. at the Julia Morgan Theater, located at 2640 College Avenue in Berkeley. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Berkeley High School math scholarship in Mr. San Martin's name.
