Survived by: Husband of 13 years, Denny Boom of Sacramento; parents George and Gaye Nicholau of Marysville; sisters Dessi Chuchas of Sacramento, Dorre Nicholau of San Francisco, Jamie Adams of Oakland, Terre Terzakis of Sacramento and Edie Delegans of Seattle.
Services: A Trisagion memorial service were held at 7 p.m. today at Nicoletti Culjis Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Greek Ortho dox Church of the Annunciation, 600 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento.
BOONE
Daniel J. Boone
Daniel J. Boone died in Sacramento's Mercy San Juan Hospital Monday, April 19, 2004, at age 78.
Born Aug. 6, 1925, in Shawnee, Okla., he had been a Yolo County resident for 57 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded the American Theater Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He owned and operated his own gardening and landscaping business in Yolo County.
Survivors include his wife, Adelyne (Flath) Boone; daughters, Darlene Boone of Vallejo, Vivian Morales of Santa Rosa, Traci Shera of Guinda, and Staci Gonzales, and Lenora Timco, both of Woodland; sons, Eugene Boone and wife Mary of Washington, and Andy Timco, also of Woodland; stepchildren, Vivian Reading and husband Dale and Jerry Speck and wife Joyce, all of Colusa; and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Rowena McMahan of Gig Harbor, Wash., Virginia Ankron of Roseville, Lynn Boone of Sacramento; and brothers, Donald Boone of Chico, Glenn Boone of Sacramento, McKinley Boone of St. Paul, Kans., and Elmo Boone of Woodland. Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his son, Steve Boone; sisters, Lula Daughtrey and Lorraine Lankins; and brothers, Franklin, Malcolm and Kenneth Boone.
The family requests memorials be directed to American Heart Association, 1710 Gilbreth, Burlingame, 94010. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: Visitation is scheduled at 9 a.m. Friday, April 23, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland, with a funeral service to follow, at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, is scheduled at 11:15 a.m., in Monument Hill Memorial Park.
BOONE
Laurence Phelps Boone
Laurence Phelps Boone died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at age 73.
Mr. Boone was born June 2, 1931 in Stanley, Wis. to the late Lucille and Laurence Boone and had been a Yolo County resident for 25 years. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1949 and was employed by Employment Development Department of the State of California until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Woodland Library Rose Club and Heidrick Ag History Museum.
Survivors include Mr. Boone's daughter, Laurie Westover of Santa Maria, his son Mark Boone of Dixon; granddaughter Schyler Boone of Dixon, grandsons Brayden Boone of Dixon, John Muller of Stockton, Joshua Muller of Santa Maria. He is also survived by his brother David Boone of Hanford, brother-in-law Laurence Darrach of East Nicolaus and his long-time companion Bobbie Ochoa of Woodland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Lucille Darrach and Diana Riggs.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Boone's name be directed to the Woodland Library Rose Club, 250 First St., Woodland, 95695.
Services: A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. Interment will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
BOOSEMBARK
Franklin Keith Boosembark
Franklin Keith Boosembark, a retired Air Force colonel and partner in Bernard's Tire, Brake & Alignment Inc., died in his home just as the sun was rising April 25, 2005. He was 83.
He reluctantly succumbed to leukemia with wife of more than 61 years, Kathleen Boosembark, at his side.
Boosembark was a man who loved life. Born on Oct. 6, 1921, in Battle Creek, Mich., he was raised in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was a very athletic young man, lettering in both football and baseball in high school.
At 18, his love of baseball drew him to Babe Ruth's Baseball School in Florida. He trained under the "Babe" and tried out for the major leagues. However his life's path lay elsewhere, and he joined the Army Air Corps.
He was a navigator for the 449th Bomber Group during World War II, flying 25 combat missions in Europe. When the war ended he returned to Bowling Green State University and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. He later received his master's degree in industrial management from the Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson.
Civilian life didn't appeal to Boosembark, and he re-enlisted in the newly formed U.S. Air Force. While serving in the Korean War he flew many humanitarian missions. His military career spanned 30 memorable years and he retired as a full colonel from Clark Field in the Philippines, where he had been the chief of procurement for the 13th Air Force.
He and his wife, Kitty, moved to Davis in 1972 and began his second life's career. Frank went into business with his sons and son-in-law, opening Bernard's Tire and Alignment in 1973 and Valley Hi Landscaping in 1981. He was the bookkeeper and accountant for his boys. He worked every day right up to and including the day he went into the hospital for chemotherapy in December 2004.
"Frank was a man who lived a wonderful life, " his family says. "He marriage his best friend's sister, traveled the world with his family, was a successful businessman and an extraordinary patriot. He was happiest when surrounded by family and dear friends. We will all miss him."
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Madison Boosembark and Nettie Boosembark; sister, Gayle Roper; and daughter-in-law, Lainda Boosembark.
marriage more than 61 years, Frank will be greatly missed by his wife, Kathleen; and his two sons, Bill Boosembark of Woodland and Ed Boosembark and his wife Margaret of Davis; and daughter, Pamela and her husband Tom Lovejoy of Elk Grove.
He also is survived by six granddaughters, Renea Harrison of Valley Springs, Carol Leigh Billing and Cortney Seivane of Sacramento, Taleen Drolet of Elk Grove, Kitty Boosembark of Woodland and Nicole Boosembark of Ithaca, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren, Trevor, Tristen and Tanner Harrison of Valley Springs and Miranda Drolet of Elk Grove.
A celebration of his life will begin 10 a.m. Saturday at his home, 4306 Almond Lane in Davis. He loved his yard, where he trimmed and watered by the hour; there, family and friends will gather for a short service, lunch, Big Band sounds and memories.
Everyone is encouraged to dress in his favorite attire - very bright Hawaiian shirts.

BOOSEMBARK
Lainda C. Boosembark
After a three-year battle with ovarian cancer, Lainda Boosembark entered eternal rest Nov. 20, 2004 at the age of 61. She departed at her home, surrounded by her family.
Lainda was born in Meridian, Miss., to Mrs. William (Glemar) Brame and Kutcher L. Cunningham. In 1968 she met Bill Boosembark, then a first lieutenant stationed at Warner Robbins AFB in Macon, Ga. The couple marriage Feb. 7, 1969.
After being discharged in 1971, the couple moved to Davis to raise their daughters and start a family business. In 1973 Bernard's Tire opened in Davis. They spent nine years in Davis, during which Lainda managed the home, raised three daughters, worked part-time for UC Davis and assisted Bill in the business.
In 1978, a second Bernard's was opened in Woodland, and the family relocated. During the next 25 years Lainda continued to manage the family, support Bill's entrepreneurial adventures and create her own career at UCD.
In 1999, Lainda retired from UCD to partner with Bill in a new business, All American Powder Coating in West Sacramento. She continued to work throughout her medical treatment.
The Boosembark family was active members at St. Luke's Episcopal Church for many years. Recently Lainda joined the Methodist Church of Woodland. She enjoyed many wonderful friendships in both congregations.
Lainda is remembered as a compassionate person, sensitive to other's feelings. Her life centered on her religion and family. marriage over 35 years, she will be greatly missed by her husband Bill, and daughters, Renea Harrison, Carol Billing and Kitty Boosembark.
Lainda is also survived by three grandchildren: Trevor, Tristen and Tanner Harrison of Valley Springs; her mother, Mrs. William (Glemar) Brame; her sister, Jeanette Abraham; her brother Kutcher "Sonny" Cunningham all of Meridian, Miss.; sons-in-law, Bryan Harrison and Eric Billing; in-laws, Col. Frank and Kathleen Boosembark of Davis, Tom and Pam Lovejoy of Elk Grove, Ed and Margaret Boosembark of Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service is set for Dec. 1 at the Methodist Church of Woodland at 10:30 a.m. Because Lainda was an avid gardener and loved flowers, the family welcomes floral gifts for the service. They may be delivered to the church at 212 2nd St., at the North St. entrance after 8:30 a.m.
BORBA
Mary Borba
Mary Borba of Woodland died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006 at age 93.
Mrs. Borba was born Nov. 15, 1912 in Oakland to Joseph S. and Angelina (Mello) Pimentel. She had been a Yolo County resident for 85 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include Mrs. Borba's son, Manuel A. Borba Jr. of Oakland; her sisters, Isabel Bettencourt and her husband Frank of Woodland, Evelyn Schreiber of Woodland; and her brother, Clarence Pimentel of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 65 years, Manuel A. Borba Sr.; her parents; and her sister, Belmira Pires.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. Borba's name be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Woodland. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
BORCHARD
Ruth Borchard
Ruth Borchard, age 78, passed away at her home in Winters, California on Dec. 11, 2005. She was born in Miami, Arizona on Feb. 14, 1927 to Jacob and Marie Hinkle.
Ruth was an elementary school teacher in Arizona and Southern California until her marriage, when she became a homemaker. She marriage Alan Borchard in Camarillo, on Aug. 5, 1958. Ruth and Alan moved to Winters, in March of 1963. Ruth was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and was the organist there for many years.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Borchard; daughter, Marie and her husband John Mark Wildenthal; grandchildren, Ruth Carolyn and John Alan Wildnethal; sister, Ann Featherston. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Alan Edward and a brother, Ed Hinkle.
