Von Royce Bottoms
Von Royce Bottoms died Jan. 4, 2005, in Brookings, Ore. He was 61.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Assembly of God church, 518 Fir in Brookings, Ore. Burial will follow.
Born in Oklahoma City on Dec. 11, 1943, he moved to Dixon in 1947 where he attended school. He served in Vietnam in 1965-67. In 1968, he marriage Linda Ullrich. He worked at UC Davis for 39 years before retiring in 2001.
His family says he loved sailing, riding his Harley and spending time with his family. He also spent time in Africa and Brazil doing missionary work.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bottoms; his sons, Tim and Mike Bottoms; daughters-in-law, Tiffany and Denese; and grandchildren, Emilee, Bethany, Misty, Derek and Christopher, all of Brookings, Ore.
He is further survived by his mother, Eula Bottoms of Vacaville; sisters, Sue Rempfer of Dixon, Linda Shafer of Vacaville; and brother, David Bottoms of Dixon.
BOUGHTON
Leona Margaret Boughton
Leona Margaret Boughton died at Port Angeles, Wash. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at age 77.
Born May 2, 1926, in Red Lake Falls, Minn., Mrs. Boughton and her husband John had been Woodland residents for 34 years.
Services: Funeral mass was held Tuesday, March 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sequim, Wash., officiated by Rev. Thomas Beattie. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Placerville with her children.
BOWE
Raymond "Sneaks" Bowe
Raymond "Sneaks" Bowe, a native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and a former resident of Covell Gardens, died Nov. 1, 2004, in Davis. He was 85 years old.
A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, 14th and B streets.
Born May 25, 1919, he was a veteran of World War II. He worked for the telephone company in Poughkeepsie until he retired in 1972.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Bowe, who died earlier this year.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Bowe of Woodside, and his daughter, Constance Bowe and her husband Thomas Anders of Davis.
He is further survived by his three grandsons, Michael, Geoffrey and Max Anders; and two great-grandchildren, Lella and Romeo Anders.
BOWLIN
Wilma Bowlin
Wilma Bowlin died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 in Woodland at age 100.
Mrs. Bowlin was born Aug. 24, 1904 in Eldon, Mo. She had been a Yolo County resident for 30 years. She was an owner of a laundry service and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include Mrs. Bowlin's daughter, Eva Piazza and her husband James of Woodland; her son, Gene Bowlin of Yucca Valley; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bowlin and her stepdaughter, Lois Smith.
Services: A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 25 in San Bernardino. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
BOWMAN
Glaphire (Glahgra) Bowman
Glaphire (Glahgra) Bowman died September 3, 1849 in Yolo County.
The family had just arrived in August, by covered wagon from Andrew County, MO.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Mitchell Ward and seven children, including David Murell (Newell), Thomas Benton and Nancy Elizabeth.
John Mitchell and Elizabeth Horn Bowman, her parents reside in Polk County, Oregon.

William ‘Bill' Kenneth Bowman
William "Bill" Kenneth Bowman died in Woodland Memorial Hospital at age 82.
Born July 20, 1919, in Alliance, Ohio, Mr. Bowman was a Yolo County resident for 33 years.
He was employed by Westinghouse for 20 years in Sunnyvale prior to moving to Yolo County and worked for Silvercrest Mobil Home as a maintenance supervisor retiring after 10 years of service.
He was a member of the Woodland Elks Lodge No. 1299 for 15 years.
Mr. Bowman is survived by his children, Connie Hudson of Sacramento, Glenna White of Oklahoma, Claudia Fierstein of San Jose, Frank Bowman of Minnesota and Randy Bowman-Fierstein of Nevada; grandchildren, Carrie Ann Woods of Modesto, Daniel Hudson of Sacramento, Melissa Jimmy and Shane Workman of Manford, Okla.,
Mark and Jobain Hawk of San Jose; great-grandchild, Alex Christian of Modesto and Blake Hawk of San Jose; sisters, Elizabeth Betty Kimball of New Mexico, and Ruth King of San Jose; and brother, Fritz Bowman of Washington.
A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2.
McNary's Chapel of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

BOYD
Steve Henry Boyd
Steve Henry Boyd lost his valiant battle with a brain tumor and passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.
Born in Woodland, on June 4, 1951, he was 52 years old. He was raised in San Rafael and graduated from Terra Linda High School. He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, earning a BS in Animal Science. Steve partnered to build the Morning Star Trucking Company from 2 trucks in 1974 to become today's largest tomato hauler, while starting and maintaining his own SB Trucking. Since then, Steve's passionate, dedicated leadership provided a model for hundreds of drivers who passed through his hands.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Margrit; his son Kenny Boyd; and his mother, Louise Boyd of San Rafael. Also surviving are his sister, Linda Smith and husband Matt, his nephew, Erin Smith, and niece, Corinne Smith, all of Oakland; his parents-in-law, Hans and Margrit Hartmann, his brother-in-law, Hans Hartmann and wife Tina, and nephew, Scott Hartmann, all of Davis; and niece, Chantelle Hartmann of San Diego.
Preceding Steve in death is his father, Dr. Henry Boyd and his daughter, Kesty.
Steve will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man, with a quick wit who deeply touched the lives of all who knew him. Steve loved his family, his friends, and his "life." He enjoyed his 1963 Corvette, motorcross and loved the outdoors.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Friday, Sept. 12th, 2003, at 12 noon, at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut Street, Woodland, CA. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m., immediately after the memorial service, with Father John Boll officiating. Interment will follow the Mass at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
