Emma A. Cogburn
Emma A. Cogburn died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at age 95.
Born July 18, 1908, in Durant, Okla., Mrs. Cogburn had been a Yolo County resident for 10 years. She was a homemaker all of her adult life.
Survivors include her sons, Perry Cogburn and wife Mary of Woodland, Jack Cogburn of Brownsville and Ancil Cogburn of Williams; grandchildren, Steve and Mike, Sharon and Karen, Brian and Nadean; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bill Cogburn.
Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A funeral service is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. Woodland. Burial will be held privately at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
COGBURN
Perry Lee Cogburn
Perry Lee Cogburn died in Woodland Friday, Dec. 10, 2004 at age 73.
Mr. Cogburn was born April 23, 1931 in Cloudy, Okla., to the late William and Emma Cogburn. He had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired glazier and was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a private pilot.
Survivors include Mr. Cogburn's wife, Mary, also of Woodland; his daughters, Sharon Woo and Karen Falcon of Rancho Cordova; his sons, Steve Cogburn of Shingle Springs and Mike Cogburn of Knights Landing; his stepchildren, Joe Vigil and his wife Susie of Rio Linda and Jerry Vigil and his wife Rosie; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild and his brothers, Jack Cogburn of Brownsville and Gene Cogburn of Williams.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Cogburn's name be directed to the Lung Association.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
COJA
Alberto Roquero Coja, Jr.
Alberto Roquero Coja Jr. of Mandaon, Masbate, Philippines passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in Metropolitan Hospital, Manila at age 61. He was born on Oct. 15, 1943 in Silay, Negros Occidental, Philippines. He was the son of the late Filemona (Roquero) and Alberto Coja Sr.
Mr. Coja is survived by his wife of 37 years, Erlinda Ruado Coja of Mandaon, Masbate, Philippines. He was also survived by his children, Analie R. Coja of Manila, Philippines, Specialist Aldrin R. Coja of Woodland, who is currently serving our country in Afghanistan, Noel R. Coja of Mandaon, Masbate, Jessica Coja-Pincas of Pandi, Bulacan, Frezil Coja-Sinahonon and Ferdinand R. Coja, both of Mandaon, Masbate and Francis R. Coja of Manila; 14 grandchildren; also his only sister, Consejo Coja-Olivera and five brothers. He was preceded in death by his two brothers.
COKER
Leon A. Coker
Leon Alexander Coker of Woodland died on May 18, 2002, at Palm Gardens in Woodland. He was 79.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1923, in Soper, Okla., to the late Robert H. and Ruth Elza (Arbaugh) Coker. He grew up in Pottawatomie County, Okla. He was a resident of Yolo County for the past 35 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater of Operation for nine months with the 99th Field Artillery Battalion. He was employed for 50 years at Contadina Foods.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Odell Coker, in 1992.
He is survived by his son, Tom Coker and his wife Susan of Woodland, and his grandchildren, Emily and Paul Coker, both of Woodland. He is also survived by his brother, James Coker and his wife Maryann of Oklahoma; sister, Mable Locklin and her husband Bill of Jamestown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland. A funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McNary's Chapel, with Pastor Shelby Rogers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery.
COLBY
Virginia L. Colby
Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, but for the past 30 years living in Pleasant Grove and after living with Alzheimer's for the past nine years, our beloved mother passed peacefully at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2003.
She is preceded in death by her beloved son Larry Hartman of N. Sacto (1947 to 1970) and husband Maurice Colby of Pleasant Grove (1916 to March 2002).
She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her children, Novella Crouch of Woodland, Victoria Schucard of Oakdale and Michael Hartman of Rocklin, Ca., she leaves her stepchildren and their families, Gorden Colby of Loomis, Steven and Lola Colby of Rocklin, Jerry and Sue Moore of Pleasant Grove, Teresa and Pete Escanlante of Pleasant Grove. And by her brother Oscar P. Murphy of Mid West City of Oklahoma.
By her children and stepchildren she leaves nine grandchildren all part of her family.
COLE
Leatta "Luvan" Cole
Leatta "Luvan" Cole passed away on Jan. 19, 2001, in Vacaville. Born in Jerico Springs Missouri on Feb. 9, 1917, she was 83 years old. She lived in Vacaville most of her life and was a homemaker for the past 62 years.
Mrs. Cole belonged to the Twice Arounders Ladies Golf Group and shot two holes in one. She also served as a former secretary for the Vacaville Grange. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, fishing, camping and crafting. She wrote letters weekly to her sisters and brothers for the past 50 years. She and her siblings used to visit area churches and harmonize together.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leaton; sons, Richard Cole of Red Bluff and Leon Cole of Orangeburg, South Carolina; daughter, Nelda Fetzko of Roseville, sisters, Lucille McWilliams and Clara Jane Spencer, both of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lindsey, in 1996.
A visitation was held on Jan. 23, 5-8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at McCune Garden Chapel. Pastor Dwight Jungkelt was the presiding clergy. Interment took place at the Winters Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Cole to the charity of the donor's choice.
COLLETON
Judith Colleton & Edward De Angelis
A memorial Mass celebrating the lives of Edward De Angelis and his daughter, Judith Colleton, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B St. in Davis. A reception immediately follows the Mass.
Edward De Angelis died Nov. 29, 2005. Judith Colleton died Jan. 17, 2006.
Survivors include Helen De Angelis, Ruth Ann Kinsella and Thomas Colleton.
COLLIGNON
Robert Bernhard Collignon
Robert Bernhard Collignon "Mr. C." died in his Woodland home Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at age 72.
Born Feb. 3, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., Mr. Collignon had been a Yolo County resident for 33 years. He was the son of the late Alvin H. and Della M. Collignon. He worked for Midland Chevrolet for 12 years and 12 years for Bee Line Services until he retired Nov. 22, 1993. According to his family members, "after his retirement, he enjoyed camping and traveling with his family."
Mr. Collignon is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Collignon of Woodland; children, William Collignon and wife Barbara of Woodland, Guy Collignon and wife Paula of Grass Valley, Jeanette Younger and husband Donald of Woodland, Joann Collignon of Folsom; and grandchildren, Brian Collignon, Melissa Collignon, Jeffrey Collignon, Shawn Collignon, Jon Younger and wife Rochelle, Karie Rioux, and Robert Younger.
He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren; brother, Norm Collignon and wife Ruth of Arbuckle; brothers-in-law, Jack Reimer and wife Judy of Ft. Collins, Colo., and John Facchin and wife Karen; father-in-law, Ray Anderson and wife Joyce of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Hank Scherer officiating.
Interment will be conducted privately at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church; or Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95616, in his behalf.
