Murial Stamm
Murial Stamm, a resident of Davis since 1972, died unexpectedly at her Davis home on Jan. 29, 2004. Born Dec. 15, 1909, In Lake Benton, Minn., she was 94 years old.
She grew up in Pipestowe (Pipestone), Minn., and lived in Reseda, Calif., from 1965 to 1972, when she moved to Davis.
She was a longtime member of Davis Community Church, a docent at the Library Club, a member of the International House and a senior companion. She enjoyed walking and was very active up until her death.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Bellati and her husband Craig of Orinda and Jeanine Roche and her husband Gerry of Irvine; and three grandchildren, Jason Bellati of San Diego and Chelsea and Chloe Roche, both of Irvine.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D St. in downtown Davis. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Davis Community Church, 412 C St. Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.
Remembrances in her name may be made to Davis Community Church or to International House, Davis, 10 College Park.
STAMPS
Ewing "John" Stamps
Ewing "John" Stamps of Woodland died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005 at age 75 at Cottonwood Healthcare in Woodland.
Stamps was born Sept. 22, 1929 in Yale, Ark. He had been a resident of Yolo County for 40 years. Stamps served in the Korean conflict with the U.S. Army and worked as a welder for PG&E upon his return.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Eunice Ann Stamps; daughters Cheryl Stamps of Missouri, Karen Hanneman and Deanna Colombo, both of Sacramento; brothers Claude Stamps and Clinton Stamps; sisters Dorothy Tuck, Lorene Acord and Irene Houston; grandchildren Erika Flores, Natasha Flores, Nathaniel Hanneman, Jonathon Colombo and Carmela Colombo; and great-grandson Joseph Morrow.
Services: Visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at Kraft Bros. Chapel at 175 Second St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005 at the Assembly of God Church at 715 El Dorado. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.
STANFIELD
Arthur Eugene "Gene" Stanfield
Arthur Eugene "Gene" Stanfield died at Summerfield Senior Care Center in Yuba City Monday, April 11, 2005 at age 83.
Mr. Stanfield was born Aug. 25, 1918 in Modesto. He had been a Yolo County resident for 55 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Philippines and Pacific Theater. He worked for 25 years as a U.S. postal clerk. He was a volunteer at Woodland First Christian Church and a docent at the Hayes Antique Truck Museum.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Ricki Kline of Yuba City; his grandchildren, Kim Novak and her husband Perry of Marietta, Ga. and Stephanie Glasgow and her husband Tim of Laguna Hills and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faith Stanfield.
The family requests memorials in Mr. Stanfield's name be directed to the American Heart Association, Northern California Chapter, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame, 94010.
Services: A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. today, Thursday, at First Christian Church of Woodland, with Pastor Larry Love officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
STANFILL
John Stanfill
John A. Stanfill died in Woodland Tuesday, July 1, 2003, at age 60.
Born July 2, 1942, in Kingfisher, Okla., Mr. Stanfill had been a Yolo County resident for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and recently retired from McClellan AFB, having been awarded "Soldier of the Year 1979."
Mr. Stanfill is survived by his wife, Barbara Stanfill; children, Dean Stanfill and fiancée Vonna, Deann Simpson and husband Bobby, and John Stanfill and wife Kathy; and grandchildren, Marissa, Chelsey, Robby and Linnea, all of Woodland.
He is also survived by his father, John Ancel Stanfill of Woodland; brothers, Tom Walker and family of Anderson, Jim Stanfill and family of Georgia; and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at McNary's Chapel, with burial following in Woodland Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Yolo County Hospice.

STANG
Gene Lee Stang
Gene Lee Stang died in Woodland Memorial Hospital Sunday, Sept. 13, 2003, at age 71.
Born Dec. 22, 1931, in Oakland, Mr. Stang had been a Yolo County resident for 22 years. He attended school at Contra Costa Jr College and University of California, Berkeley. He was an ace pitcher for University of California Bears, voted most valuable player in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1950. He was a production manager for Hunt-Wesson Food in 1958 and retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Stang; daughters, Gina Crawford, Laura Geren and Linda Fibrow; grandchildren, Andrea Tatayon, Matthew Cotta, Kelly Lawrence, Kristina, Cody and Gabrielle Fibrow; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Cotta, Serene and Marisa Tatayon.
The family requests memorials be directed to Silent Unity, 1901 NW Blue Parkway, Unity Village, Mo., 64065-0001. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today Wednesday, at Carrousel Restaurant, 417 Main St., Woodland.
STANSBERRY
Eileen Louise Stansberry
Eileen Louise Stansberry died in her home Monday, April 22, 2002, at age 75.
Mrs. Stansberry was born Dec. 17, 1926 in Fairmont, W.Va., to Troy and Devina Nichols.
She met and marriage Jim Stansberry on Oct. 8, 1947. They made their home first in Morgantown, W.Va., moved to Texas and settled in Fremont, where they raised five children.
They moved to Woodland upon retirement, where they became active members of the First Baptist Church.
She was active in the First Baptist Ladies Missionary Fellowship, and spent a lit of time volunteering with the Pregnancy Support group.
Mrs. Stansberry was a life long homemaker and devoted to her children and grandchildren. Family members stated that she loved making and giving crafts as gifts and was an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by children Diane Edwards of Woodland, Scott Stansberry and wife Linda of Prunedale, Steve Stansberry and wife JoAnn of Fremont, Melanie McReynolds and husband Pat of Woodland, and Mary Ann Lott and husband Michael of Woodland; grandchildren Matthew Stansberry and wife Julie, Jamie Stansberry, Katharine Stansberry, Audra Stansberry, Leslie McReynolds, Bethany McReynolds, Lydia McReynolds, Tony Lott, and Michael James Lott; and great-granddaughter Emily Stansberry.
She is also survived by sister Maxine Morrison of Monongah, West Virginia; brothers Robert Nichols of Morgantown, W. Va., and Lionel Nichols of Dunnellon, Fla.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband James Stansberry and grandson Darren Edwards.
Interment took place Thursday, April 18, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Fremont. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the First Baptist Memorial Church in Woodland.
The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Pregnancy Support Group of Woodland or the First Baptist Church Building fund.

STANTON
Connie M. Stanton
Connie M. Stanton died in her Woodland home surrounded by family Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at age 70.
Born March 30, 1933, in Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Stanton was the daughter of the late Laban and Mildred Shumway. She moved to Woodland in 1960 and participated in community activities including the PTA, Welcome Wagon, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and the Woodland Garden Club. She was also member of the Woodland United Methodist Church. She endured multiple sclerosis for more than 30 years, and in the early stages of the disease she campaigned for access rights for the disabled and was active in fund drives for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Richard Stanton; daughters, Lyndi Walker and husband Steve of Cameron Park, and Cheri Kerr of Lincoln; son, Greg Stanton and wife Amy of Forestville; and grandsons, David Kerr and Nate Twisselman of Sacramento; brother, William Shumway and wife Zoa of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kara Stanton.
The family requests memorials be directed to National Multiple Sclerosis Society; American Cancer Society; or to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95616. Arrangements are under the direction of North Sacramento Funeral Home.
