Rose Marie Zimmer
Rose Marie Zimmer died at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland Monday, June 6, 2005 at age 90.
Mrs. Zimmer was born June 13, 1914 in North Dakota. She had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. She was the head custodian for Esparto Unified School District for 15 1/2 years.
Survivors include Mrs. Zimmer's daughters, Mary Jane Jordon, Martha Wright, Maxine Thompson, Jo Shaw, Margo Thomas and Alvina Sobers; her sons, Clarence J. Zimmer, Lee Zimmer, Arnold Zimmer and Gordon Zimmer; and 28 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Clarence J. Zimmer; her daughters, Alice Carlyle and Donna Jackson; her son, Odd Joseph Zimmer and her parents, Philip and Caroline Zelmer.
Services: Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Zimmer, no services are scheduled. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
ZIMMERMAN
Linda Zimmerman
Linda Zimmerman passed away in her Winters home on June 3, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born on Dec. 17, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was 57 years old.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a resident of Winters for 24 years. She was employed for many years at the Bank of the West main branch in Vacaville, Sierra Pacific, Continental Pacific Bank, West America Bank and Vaca Valley Bank. Prior to being in the banking industry, she worked as a cashier at the Black Oak Restaurant and at the Nut Tree.
Mrs. Zimmerman was a graduate of Vacaville High School, class of 1963. She loved anything and everything pertaining to nature including 4-wheeling. She was a former member of the cliff hangers and loved her cactus and succulent plants.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ralph Zimmerman of Winters; mother Audra Merritt of Vacaville; sisters Susan Carroll and Valerie Durling of Vacaville, Sara Jane Fiser of Tennessee, Steven Merritt of Spokane, Washington and Chois Knight of Conway, Arkansas; nieces Emily Carroll, Rebekah Durling, Madelyn Durling, Julina Durling, Barbara Durling and Susannah Durling, all of Vacaville; nephews Jared and Joshua Merritt of Florida, Tom Carroll of Vacaville and Nathan Merritt of Washington.
The family invited friends for a visitation on Thursday, June 5, from 6-8 p.m. in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m. in Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Milton Steck officiating. Interment was held in Silveyville Cemetery in Dixon.

ZINK
Frank W. Zink Jr.
Frank William Zink Jr. died peacefully in his home Oct. 13, 2001, after a lengthy illness. He was 78 years old.
He was born on June 17, 1923, in Pullman, Wash. He was a graduate of UC Davis and contributed 42 years of invaluable research as a plant breeder for the UC Davis Vegetable Crops Department, retiring on March 2, 1990.
He received recognition and honors for his melon research by the California Melon Research Board and appreciation as a plant breeder for his productive lettuce research by the Iceberg Lettuce Research Advisory Board. He published many research papers in his field. He had also served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
After retirement, he enjoyed sailboating, gardening and traveling with his wife.
He is survived by Mary, his wife of 28 years and a resident of Winters; sister Miriam Coleman and husband Sam of Pasadena; son Howard Zink and his wife June and granddaughter Kaili of Fresno; son Ted Zink and his wife Cheryl; and step-grandchildren Tami and Carri of Palmdale; stepdaughter Claudia Smyth of Winters; and step-grandson Daniel Smyth of Woodland.
Private family services were held. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 300 West St. at Buck Avenue in Vacaville. A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall.

ZINK
Mary Bee Zink
Mary Bee Zink died in her Winters home Thursday, May 22, 2003, at age 81.
Born on Sept. 21, 1921, in St. Leonard, Province of New Brunswick, Dominion of Canada, Mrs. Zink had been a resident of Winters for over 25 years. She graduated from high school and business college in Boston, Massachusetts. In the past she was employed as a secretary at a law firm in Boston, a law firm in Woodland, and at the University of Davis - Coop Extension, Davis. She had many numerous volunteer jobs throughout the years such as the Pink Ladies in various clinics and hospitals.
Survivors include her daughter Claudia Smyth of Winters; son-in-law Dennis Smyth of Woodland; stepsons, Howard Zink and his wife June of Fresno, and Ted Zink and wife Cheryl of Palmdale; grandson Daniel Smyth of Woodland; granddaughter Khali Zink of Fresno; sister Edna Shimm of Brooklyn, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Frank William Zink; son, Steven.
Services: A private memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Vacaville with Reverend Lucretia Jevne officiating.
ZOBEL
Ervina A. (Thomas) Zobel
Ervina A. (Thomas) Zobel died in her Caldwell, Idaho, home Monday, July 15, 2002, at age 87.
Born April 5, 1915, to Egbert and Elizabeth Thomas of Nevada City, Mrs. Zobel spent her early years living in Watsonville and Nevada City, and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1933. She marriage Melvin Zobel in Watsonville on May 19, 1940.
Mrs. Zobel spent many years in Woodland, raising family and working for the Woodland School District. When her husband retired the couple returned to Watsonville where she volunteered at the YWCA thrift store. She and her husband moved to Caldwell, in 1998 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Zobel; children; Richard Zobel of Lewisburg, W.Va., Melvory Brown of Sacramento, Kenneth Zobel of Caldwell, and Lynette Morelan of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Respecting the wishes of Mrs. Zobel, no services are scheduled.
The family requests memorials be directed to American Heart Association; or March of Dimes.
ZUGNONI
Margaret Mary Zugnoni
Margaret Mary Zugnoni died in Stollwood Convalescent Hospital, Woodland Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at age 86.
Born Feb. 21, 1916, in Goldfield, Nev. Mrs. Zugnoni was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Lynch. She was a long-time resident of the Easy Bay who moved to Woodland two years ago following a stroke. She was a graduate of Presentation High School of Berkeley, class of 1933, and of the University of California at Berkeley College of Commerce (School of Business Administration), class of 1937. She worked as a bookkeeper for firms in San Francisco and the East Bay for 21 years before retiring in 1981. She was a catechism teacher at Saint Ambrose Church, Berkeley and an officer of the Mother's Club at School of the Madeleine, Berkeley. According to the family members, "She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe with her husband, vacationing with family members in Twain Harte and caring for and visiting with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren."
Mrs. Zugnoni is survived by her husband of 59 years, Emil Zugnoni; daughter, Mary McCurdy and husband Gary of Woodland; son, John Zugnoni and wife Jeanette of Alameda; grandchildren, Paul Zugnoni and wife Sophie, David Zugnoni, Emily Zugnoni, Gina Preciado, Daniel McCurdy and wife Yujung and Patricia Moore and husband Jerry; and great-grandchildren, Justin McCurdy and Jessica Moore.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty (as a child); and brother, John in 1968.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 19, at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. in Oakland, telephone number (510) 654-0123). A vigil will be held at 7 p.m.
A funeral mass is scheduled to be said at noon Monday, May 20, at St. Ambrose Church, 1145 Gilman St. in Berkeley.

ZUNIGA
Arthur J. "Butch" Zuniga Jr.
Arthur J. "Butch" Zuniga Jr., died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at his home in Knights Landing.
Born in Woodland on Dec. 29, 1947, he was 55 years old. Mr. Zuniga attended Willow Spring Elementary School and Woodland High School. He was last employed by Heidrick Farms as a farm mechanic.
Survivors include his mother, Lois Stewart-Kull and stepfather Ken Kull, of Woodland; daughter Kim Hogan, son Mike Zuniga, both of Paradise. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Hannah, Joel, Rebecca, Mike and Zachary. Also surviving are sisters, Patty and her husband Bob Schieberl of Vacaville, and Loretta Hull, of Sacramento; and brother, Ted Zuniga, of Woodland.
Mr. Zuniga was preceded in death by his father Arthur "Johnny" Zuniga Sr.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003 at Kraft Bros. Chapel in Woodland. A private burial is scheduled. Memorials may be sent to 2 Del Mar St., Woodland, 95695.
