William J. Whalen
William J. Whalen died Jan. 23, 2003 in San Francisco at age 64.
Born May 28, 1939, in Greeley Neb., Mr. Whalen was raised in Hastings, Neb.. He moved to Cheyenne, Wyo. after high school where he began working for Frontier Airlines in 1958. He continued working for the airline in Laramie Wyo. and Sacramento until 1986. He then worked for Consolidated Freightways, retiring in 1999.
Survivors include, his wife Mary; son, Will Whalen of San Luis Obispo; daughters, Jennifer Kimzey of Davis, Peggy Cooke of Austin, Texas, and Sylvia Settlemoir of Folsom.
He is also survived by parents, Leo and Alma Whalen of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers Jim and Joe Whalen of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters Ann Rhodes of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jeannette Whalen of Castro Valley and Patricia Holland of Kennewick, Wash.
Services; A memorial service is scheduled for noon, Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Holy Trinity Church in El Dorado Hills.
WHEELER
Bobby Wayne Wheeler
On Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at the age of 57, after a long battle with cancer and while surrounded by his family, Bobby Wayne Wheeler left this world to be in the presence of the Lord.
Born Jan. 30, 1945, in Woodland, Mr. Wheeler was a Yolo County resident all his life. He was retired from Yolo County Housing Authority after 20 years of service, and worked as delivery/sales for Corner Drug for about 10 years. He was very active in his Church for several years.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife, Sandra Wheeler of Woodland; children, Cyndi Sechler and husband Ron, and Rob Wheeler and wife Heidi; and two grandchildren, Robby Wheeler and Ryon Sechler, also all of Woodland.
He is also survived by his siblings, Beryl Wheeler and wife Betty of Lowell, Ark., Nettie Moore of Roseville, Marilyn Adan and husband Ray of Woodland, Darlene Wheeler of Woodland and several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Pearl Jostmeyer of Yolo, stepmother, Florence Wheeler of Woodland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Sue Wilson of Yolo, and Bill and Patsy Jostmeyer of Lebanon, Ore.
Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ora Wheeler; half-brother, L.O. Stapleton; brother, Billy Wheeler; and sisters, Geraldine Schoolcraft and Nola Dean Wheeler.
A vigil will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, April 18, at McNary's Chapel, Woodland.
The funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m., Friday, April 19, also at McNary's Chapel.
Interment will take place following services at Monument Hill Memorial Park, Woodland. A fellowship with family and friends will be at the Light House Four Square Church, 23 Grand Ave., Woodland.
McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, is assisting the family with arrangements.
WHITESELL
Lois Carol Whitesell
Lois Carol Whitesell died in Woodland Memorial Hospital, Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at age 70.
Born Sept. 30, 1933, in Correctionville, Iowa, Mrs. Whitesell had been a Yolo County resident for 24 years. She graduated in 1952 from Correctionville public school, Correctionville, Iowa. She attended First Baptist Church, Woodland, before retiring her last employment as a sales clerk at JC Penney's, Woodland for six years.
Survivors include her husband, Don Whitesell of Woodland; daughters, Deb Petry of Woodland and Sherrie Dahl and husband Jim of Arbuckle; sons, Jim Whitesell and wife Caryn of Cameron Park, and Rick Whitesell of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin and fiance Amy, Ethan and fiancé Nicole, Brendon, Hayley Whitesell of Cameron Park, Marissa Petry of Placentia, D.J. Petry of Woodland, Nate and Nicole Dahl of Arbuckle, Honee Batt and husband Ashley, Brittany Ables and husband Lee, Ricky Whitesell of Huntsville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Caleb Whitesell, Deavin Batt, Heaven Leigh Lu Ables of Huntsville, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood Wright and Glennis Chase; brother, Elwin Wright; and granddaughter, Lindsey Lu Whitesell.
The family requests memorials be directed to First Baptist Church, Woodland, and Woodland Christian School, 1616 West St., Woodland. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.
Services: Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Barker Funeral Home, Correctionville, Iowa. A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, also at Correctionville, Iowa. Burial will be held at Correctionville Cemetery, Correctionville, Iowa.
WHITE
David F. White
David F. White died in his Woodland home with his loving wife Michelle by his side, on June 2, 2000. Born Dec. 14, 1943, in San Mateo, he was 56.
He was the son of the late Bruce and Claire White. He had been a resident of Woodland for the past 35 years.
Family members said his interests included auto racing, refurbishing Porsche automobiles, fly fishing, traveling and camping. He was loved by all for his quick mind and wonderful sense of humor.
He graduated from Cal State Sacramento with a bachelor's degree in criminal science and then attended Lincoln Law School in Sacramento. He was employed at Safeway in Woodland and Stille Co. Inc., Woodland in various management positions.
He joined Coldwell Banker Real Estate in 1993 and prior to his death was manager of its property management office.
He served on numerous Sacramento and Yolo County boards, including the Big Valley Credit Union and Yolo Hospice.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle White of Woodland; son Barrett White of Santa Rosa; daughter, Cheri Finch; grandson, Tyler Stunek of Las Vegas; and sister, Pamela and her husband Bill Harriman of Whidbey Island, Wash.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at R.H. Phillips Vineyard. In honor of his life, it is requested by the family that bright and casual dress be worn.

Dortha "Dot" White
Dortha "Dot" White of Knights Landing died in Woodland Monday, Aug. 22 at age 85.
Mrs. White was born March 29, 1920 in Little Rock, Ark. She had been a Yolo County resident for 57 years. She was a housewife and a member of Victory Praise Tabernacle.
Survivors include Mrs. White's daughters, Patricia Reynolds and Pamela J. "PJ" Toal; her sons, Dan White and Gary White; her grandchildren, Linda Reynolds, Steve Reynolds, Chris White, Allan White, Shawndale White and Robert Toal; two great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Ratha Skinner and Elouise Jackson.
The family requests memorials in Mrs. White's name be directed to the Yolo County Adult Day Care Center, 20 N. Cottonwood, Woodland, 95695.
Services: A church memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at Victory Praise Tabernacle of Knights Landing, 42236 Fourth St., Knights Landing with Pastor Jim McLean officiating. A private interment for family will be held at Knights Landing Cemetery. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gladys F. White
Gladys Fern White of Davis died on April 28, 2002. She was 85.
Born Oct. 14, 1906, she had lived in Davis since 1950.
She is survived by her son, Roger White, and daughter, Carolyn Simmons, both of Davis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Linda Warner, Mike White, Julie Rose and Vickie Reina; and by five great-grandchildren.

WHITE
Zelma Ileen White
Zelma Ileen White died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital in Woodland on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at age 92.
Born Sept. 17, 1910, in Kelseyville, Mrs. White had been a Yolo County resident for 82 years. She worked in Knights Landing as telephone operator, retiring in 1957. She also worked at Grafton School in Knights Landing.
Survivors include her son, James White and wife Frances of Knights Landing; daughters, Beva Wahl of Esparto, and Barbara Hunter and husband James of Woodland; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Jane Horgan and husband Richard of Sacramento; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Frederick White in 1983; parents, Carl and Louise (Woods) Kindelt; daughter, Sally Ann Stone in 1996; sister, Barbara Kindelt; and brothers, Carl and Orval Kindelt.
The family requests memorials be directed to the charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland.
Services: A graveside committal service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Knights Landing Cemetery, with Pastor Judy Robbins officiating. Burial will follow.
