PISANI

Joan Beverly Dorothea Pisani

Joan Beverly Dorothea Pisani passed away on Oct. 28, 1999, at her home in Winters. Born in Woodland on Nov. 15, 1940, she was 58 years old.

Mrs. Pisani was the executive secretary for the Winters Cemetery District for 23 years. She was a lifetime Yolo County resident, and lived in Winters for 39 years. She was a graduate of Esparto High School, and was the daughter of the late John and Freda Schaupp.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert A. Pisani, of Winters; sons, Jim Pisani of Clovis, Bob Pisani of Winters, Mike Pisani of Laredo, Texas, and Larry Pisani of Winters; brother, Richard Schaupp of Cupertino; grandchildren, David, Kevin, Dominic and Kristopher Pisani of Winters; William, Corina and Geoffrey Pisani of Laredo, Texas; Shelby Pisani of Winters; Nicholas and Amber Jones of Visalia; and Kristin Pisani of Clovis.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 1, at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Tom Hickman, Eric Murillo, Nicholas Jones, and David, Kevin and Dominic Pisani. Burial followed at the Winters Cemetery. Pastor Frank Anderson officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith's Colonial Chapel.

PITTMAN

Nola Pittman

Nola Pittman of Colusa died Monday, March 6, 2006.

Born in Woodland on October 12, 1932 to Omar and Eliza Dickson, she lived in Woodland for 30 years before moving to Winters and living there for 30 years, and then to Colusa in 2001. She was a bookkeeper for 10 years and before that she managed the Plainfield Station Restaurant.

She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Church in Winters until moving to Colusa where she attended Charity Baptist Church.

Nola enjoyed crafts, ceramics, crossword puzzles and helping her grandchildren with homework. She was a member of one of the first pioneer families in Yolo County, the John Stoddard family. They settled on Road 27 in Woodland after coming to the United States from Scotland.

Nola is survived by one daughter: Bobbie McMahon of Colusa and husband Steve; and sons Gerald Dinsdale and wife Wendy of Dixon, Michael Pittman and wife Marla of Winters, Steve Pittman and wife Flo of Williams, Alan Pittman and wife Bobbie of Knights Landing.

Her grandchildren are Shawn Humphrey and husband Devin of Williams, Erin McMahon, Steven McMahon and Ryan McMahon of Colusa, Dustin Pittman and Brooke Pittman of Winters, Shyla Trojanowski and husband Jason of Winters, Jennifer Pittman Kayla Pittman, and Megan Pittman of Williams, Aaron Dinsdale, Myra Dinsdale and Owen Dinsdale of Dixon, Jessica Morse and boyfriend Kevin Foster of Woodland, and Jamie Nesbitt, John Nesbitt and Robert Nesbitt of Knights Landing. She is also survived by great grandchildren Alyxandra and Alexis McMahon of Colusa, Payton and Landon Humphrey of Williams, Derrick and Logan Pittman of Winters, Ian and Aislyn Trojanowski of Winters, and Elora Foster of Knights Landing.

She was preceded in death by son Richard Dinsdale, brother Leon Jones and Dick Dickson, and sisters Jacquilin Hallet, Theresa Hill and Leona Frei.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the Charity Baptist Church, 2150 Wescott.

PITTS

Jack M. Pitts

Jack M. Pitts died at his Davis home Oct. 13, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He was 74.

He was born April 20, 1929, in Coleman, Texas. Before retiring, he spent 20 years as a firefighter in Napa.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Carpenter of Davis; sons John Pitts of Suisun City and Floyd Pitts of San Angelo, Texas; brothers Fain Pitts of Martinez and Buddy Pitts of Blanket, Texas; sister, Lina Kay Wagner of Flomaton, Ala.; aunt Yaunita Hughes of Brownwood, Texas; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

No memorial service is planned. He will be buried icon next to his first wife, Willeta, in San Antonio.

PLUMB

Charles William "Bill" Plumb, Jr.

Charles William "Bill" Plumb Jr. died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at his home, River Bend Farm, in Yolo County at age 84.

Mr. Plumb was born in Flagstaff, Ariz. Aug. 23, 1921. He was a graduate of Stanford Jr. High, Sacramento High and UC Berkeley, with a degree in mining engineering. He served during WWII for three years as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy on the USS Bradford in the South Pacific. He farmed in Yolo County for over 30 years and helped organize the Elk Horn Fire District.

Survivors include Mr. Plumb's wife, Barbara; his sons, Charles W. Plumb III and his wife Judy, Lawrence F. Plumb and his wife Jill; his granddaughters Sally (Plumb) Danzler, Tracy Plumb, Emily Plumb and Claire Plumb; his great-granddaughters, Baylee Miller and Mia Danzler; stepchildren, Cecelia Kolstad and her husband Bud, Mary Beedie and her husband Bob, Chris Branch and her husband Jerry, Joe Garfield and his wife Debbie, Dave Garfield and his wife Nancy, Jane Kellam and her husband John and Hanna West and her husband Art; his twin sister, Belle Fickle; his sister, Beryl Parker; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Lucy Plumb; his sister, Betty Jones; his first wife, Jean Prittie Plumb; his second wife, Cecelia Garfield Plumb and her daughter Gayle; and stepson Wayne B. Boulding.

The family requests memorials in Mr. Plumb's name be directed to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617. Services: A service will be held on Nov. 30, 10 a.m. at the Woodland United Methodist Church, 212 Second St.

Plumb and wife Jill; twin sister, Belle Fickle; sister, Beryl Parker; granddaughters Sally (Plumb) Danzler, Tracy Plumb, Emily Plumb and Claire Plumb; great-granddaughters, Baylee Miller and Mia Danzler; stepchildren, Cecelia Kolstad (Bud), Mary Beedie (Bob), Chris Branch (Jerry), Joe Garfield (Debbie), Dave Garfield (Nancy), Jane Kellam (John) and Hanna West (Art); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grand and great-grandchildren and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Lucy Plumb; sister, Betty Jones; his first wife, Jean Prittie Plumb; his second wife, Cecelia Garfield Plumb and her daughter Gayle; and stepson Wayne B. Boulding.

PLOCHER

Harold Plocher

Harold Plocher died at Saint John's Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland Thursday, Oct. 19 at the age of 82.

Harold was born at the Plocher home on County Road 18A to Fred and Cora Plocher. He was one of nine children. He lived his entire life in Yolo County.

Harold served in the Pacific as a quartermaster in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war he attended the University of California, Davis, received a B.S. degree in 1950 and continued on to receive his D.V.M. from the School of Veterinary Medicine's first class in 1952. Harold served on the Woodland School Board of Education for 16 years. He was active in 4-H and served as a leader for many years. He was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Woodland. Harold was an owner, operator of H.D. Plocher Partnership-CACHE ACRES Holsteins. He was a member of the U.S.A. Holstein Association, California Holstein Association, All West/Select Sire Co-operative and the California Farm Bureau.

Harold Plocher is survived by Virginia, his wife of 57 years, daughter Jane Plocher, daughter, Nancy Plocher and children Jon, Shelly and Kristi all of Woodland, son Bill Plocher of Incline Village, Nev., son Rick and wife Norma and their children Russell, Ross and Daniel all of Woodland, son Andy and wife Susie and children Darcie and Denise all of Mendocino, Amber of Sacramento. Harold had one great-grandson, John, son of Amber.

Harold is also survived by brothers: Fredrick, Robert, Phillip and sisters: Martha, Lydia and Esther. His father and mother, Fred and Cora Plocher and brothers Erwin and Albert Plocher preceded Harold in death.

There will be a celebration of his life and memorial service on Nov. 5, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Woodland.
