Mary J. (Weiss) Croll
Mary J. (Weiss) Croll died at her home in Zamora on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at age 92.
A life-long resident of Zamora, Mrs. Croll was born on Nov. 11, 1912 to Joe and Rosie (Horgan) Weiss at their family home four miles west of Zamora.
Her parents were also born and lived their life in Yolo County.
Mrs. Croll attended Willow Spring School four years and after moving to the new farm near County Road 19, attended Clover School through 8th grade.
She graduated from Esparto High School in 1931.
On Oct. 19, 1935, in Winters, she marriage August E. Croll, also born and raised in Zamora.
They built their home in Zamora where they lived for 16 years until moving to their new home one mile west of Zamora.
They were marriage 54 years at the time of her husband's death in December 1989.
Mrs. Croll spent her life loving and taking care of her family, as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, totally involved with all family members until the end.
Their home was always the center for every holiday and family function.
Mrs. Croll is survived by her five children, James Croll and wife Marilyn, August Croll Jr. and wife Janice and Lois Cristler-Harrison of Zamora; Kay Carter and husband Bill of Woodland and Dawn Goodall and husband Derek of England; 17 grandchildren; Carrie Goodall, Billy Goodall and wife Janet, Matthew Goodall, all of England, Danny Goodall of New York, Jessica Goodall of Woodland, Kirsten Givens and husband Ron of Sacramento, Jeannene Jew and husband Brian of Roseville, Janey Wood and husband Bryan of Colorado, Mike Cristler and wife Roberta and Tony Cristler of Zamora, Hattie Souza and husband Joe and Joe Cristler and wife Becki of Woodland, Annie Doyle and husband Richard of Arbuckle, Ken Carter and wife Lori and Mary Castaneda and husband Tim of Woodland, Kimberly Brinsen and husband Joey of Georgia and Tiffany Delgado and husband Gilbert of Brentwood; 21 great-grandchildren, Oliver and Emma Goodall, Jesse and Joshua Givens, Kelly, Ryan and Logan Jew, Cassidy Wood, Sterling and David Cristler, Cole and Bridget Souza, Bradley and Ashley Cristler, Anastasia and Shane Doyle, Tristan and Matthew Castaneda, Ian and Zachery Brinsen and Ethan Delgado and numerous other extended family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Croll was preceded in death by her baby brothers, Raymond and Johnny Weiss; granddaughter, Kathryn; and great-grandson, Joseph Cristler Jr.
Visitation is scheduled at Kraft Bros. Chapel 175 Second St., Woodland on Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m.
Deacon Ed Kull will officiate.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow the Mass at Mary's Chapel, Yolo, with Deacon Ed Kull doing the graveside committal services.
Memorial donations in Mrs. Croll's memory may be made to Hospice of Yolo County, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

CROOK
Eunice Opal Crook
Eunice Opal Crook died Sept. 23, 2003, in Davis. She was 96.
Born Jan. 21, 1907, in El Dorado, Okla., she was raised in Childress, Texas.
In 1943 she trained to be a civilian parachute packer at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She worked as a parachute packer at McCord Air Force Base in Washington state, then at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento before retiring in 1977.
In 1977 she moved to Davis, where she was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edd Carroll Crook, her parents, John and Artie Wiman, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughters Billie Jean Behymer and her husband Darrell of Davis and Sue Crook of Woodland, grandchildren Gregory Behymer of Santa Rosa and Cheryl Hale and her husband Harry of Kwajalein, the Marshall Islands. She is also survived by her sister Jayne Bedsow of Davis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held Sept. 29, 2003, at Sierra Hills Memorial Park in Sacramento.
CROSS
Keith E. Cross
Keith Cross died at his home on Sept. 5, 2005, after courageously battling ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He was 70.
A memorial service begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the family residence. A second memorial service will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery, in Sturgis, S.D., at a future date.
Born on Jan. 25, 1935, in Mitchell, S.D., to the late Bert and Bertha Cross, he served as airman first class in the U.S. Air Force until 1963. After his discharge, he worked for PG&E before opening A-1 Body Shop of Davis in 1967, where he worked until his retirement in 1990.
He was described as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a man of many talents.
After retirement, he pursued his passion for aviation when he began the restoration of a 1943 Beech 18 UC-45E. When diagnosed with ALS in 1999, his family and friends joined together to help him see his dream fulfilled with the completion and flight of the Beech. He always maintained a positive attitude and spirit for life, and was an inspiration to other ALS patients.
He was an active member and fire commissioner with the West Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Woodland Elks Lodge and member of the Davis Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cindy Lee; and his sister, Shirley Wolf.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Cross; daughter Cheryl Felsch and her husband David; and son Brian Cross and his wife Deirdre, all of Winters; his grandchildren, Tyler and Amy Cross, also of Winters, and Errol Felsch and his wife Michelle, of Orlando, Fla.
He is further survived by his sisters, Arlis Castle of Orange, Texas; and Loretta Knight and her husband Bernie of Sardis, Ohio; brother, Kenneth Cross and his wife Bev of Hemet; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Fritz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his name be sent to the ALS Association of Greater Sacramento, 2717 Cottage Way, Suite 8, Sacramento, CA 95825; and Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA 95617-1014.
CROWDER
Arthur R. Crowder
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the James R. Garlick mortuary, Sacramento, for Arthur R. Crowder, Sr., Broderick resident for 10 years.
Mr. Crowder, a retired painter, died Wednesday afternoon in Yolo General hospital after a 10-day illness. He was 60.
Burial will be at Masonic Lawn Cemetery where Spanish-American war veterans will conduct rites.
Mr. Crowder is survived by his wife, Laura M. Crowder, and the following children, Clarence C. Crowder, Franklin B. Crowder, Arthur R. Crowder, Jr., Mrs. B. Honish and Mrs. Clara Mae Baham. He leaves two brothers and two sisters, Charles Crowder, Broderick; Sam Crowder, Oregon; Mrs. Josie Ming, Broderick, and Mrs. Zella Morris, Oakland.

CROWE
Kerry Dean Crowe
Kerry Dean Crowe was born in San Pablo, California, on October 29, 1964 and passed away June 2, 1999, in Winters, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was 34.
Mr. Crowe was a 1982 graduate of Winters High School and served three years in the United States Coast Guard. He was attending Sacramento State University, majoring in computer science, and working part-time at UC Davis, as a research assistant. Kerry's passion was working with computers and he was always ready to help anyone who asked.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Shirlyn and Jeff Jacobs of Winters; his father and stepmother, Patrick and Louann Crowe of Vallejo; sisters Torie David of Rio Linda, Kristin Justis of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Melissa Crowe of Vallejo; brothers, Kelly Crowe of Winters, Ray Jacobs of Crescent City, and Jason Crowe of Vallejo; grandmothers, Marie Daniels of Winters and Dorothy Jacobs of Prather; grandfather, W. R. Crowe of Lucern Valley; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A memorial service was held in Woodland, at Kraft Brothers Funeral Home, on June 7, 1999 at 2:00 p.m., with a Military Honor Guard and officiated by Reverend Palmer Watson, pastor Emeritus, Macarthur Community Baptist Church, of San Pablo.
